      Fabulous location

Left on 02/19/2013 for a stay in February 2013

Boy, was it my lucky day when I happened to call the B&B; a few weeks ago just as they got a cancellation for the guest cottage. The cottage itself is nice, but not especially fancy. It is very spacious, decently furnished, very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with a good supply of basics, as well as lots of teas. Were it not for the location, this cottage would get 4 stars, not 5.

The location is fantastic -- overlooking Kealakekua Bay, walking distance to beaches, and a few miles from one of the Big Island's favorite snorkeling spots (Place of Refuge). The area is totally non-commercial. I was determined to stay away from the overdeveloped areas on Kona, and the B&B; is within easy driving distance but blissfully apart.

The grounds of the B&B; are beautifully tended and lovely. Emily was a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend this rental.

      Perfection in Kealakekua Bay

Left on 12/18/2012 for a stay in December 2012

A wonderful stay for 3 nights with my wife and 15 month old son. Clean room, nicely decorated with enough cupboard space. Wonderful and spacious communal spaces in a beautiful house.
Our host Karen was nothing short of fantastic; besides greeting us in the morning with a wonderful cooked breakfast, which was different each day and were each equally delicious, she was also very helpful in giving recommendations on local places to go to the beach, restaurants, sights, etc
We were fortunate enough to be by ourselves the last 2 days, but the place is more than big enough to be at capacity,
A definite recommendation, shame we had to leave. The perfect place to feel cared for, enjoy a wonderful view and relax.

Left on 01/09/2012 for a stay in November 2011

My wife and I recently visited the Big Island for our honeymoon and decided to book the Ohana Guest Cottage @ Kealakekua Bay B&B.; Very spacious 2 bedrooms + living room + well appointed kitchen. Loved the view of the ocean from the open-air living room and private deck area. Excellent location, walking distance to a small (and relatively empty) beach on the southern end of Kealakekua Bay, with some sand/lava -- fantastic snorkelling opportunities as soon as you step into the water. The grounds are absolutely beautiful; lush and green! Local fruits grow right on the property. Although we did not hold our wedding in Hawaii, this property would be a fantistic venue for a small to medium sized wedding. Emily, the B&B;'s innkeeper is a most excellent host, knowledgable of the area and involved in the community and supports local/organic farming. A+++

      Heaven on Earth

Left on 12/26/2011 for a stay in November 2011

This B&B; is a sanctuary in Hawaii. I typically come here twice per year to relax and swim in the ocean. It is the best place to stay in the south of Kona region. The overall atmosphere is wonderful with a large garden, open spaces in the house with very nice furniture's. It is quite remarkable that such a nice garden and living areas are only for 3 guest rooms. The view over the bay is exquisite. The Ohana cottage is a perfect house for 2-4 people with a lot of privacy. The inn-keeper Emily is enchanting providing excellent service and nice ambience. It is walking distance to Kealakekua Bay where dolphins often can be sighted. It is a bay that is most popular for kayaking over to the Captain Cook monument. I have recommended many people to come and stay at this most precious B&B;.
