Experience the laid back Captiva Island lifestyle in this beautifully decorated Key West inspired 3 bedroom and 3 bath beach home on the beachside of Captiva's village center. It's located on very popular Wightman Lane, a short, 3 minute stroll on our private, sandy lane to the beach. Captiva's Caribbean style beach has been rated the most romantic for its calm, warm water and gorgeous sunsets.

A $500 per week advance payment by credit card will hold a weekly reservation. The payment balance is due 60 days prior to scheduled arrival. Final payment may be by credit card, check, or money order. 11% Florida state and hotel tax is applicable.
Cancellation allowed up to 60 days prior to scheduled arrival with full advance payment refund.
No refunds are given for cancellation within 60 days of scheduled arrival or after final payment is made unless home is re-booked for that period. We suggest our available travel insurance to cover cancellations due to health or weather related issues.
We never charge security deposit, cleaning, linen or trash fees. All are included in our weekly rental rate.

Just came back (April 20th) from week on Captiva at the Sun & Moon House. Weather was great high 80's low 90's. Sun & Moon House was fantastic! Plenty of room for the whole family. We had friends & family who visited during the day that went to the beach and then out to either lunch or dinner. Plenty of room in the lanai area/pool to entertain or just relax. Pool temp 85. The beach was approx. 150 yards at the end of Wightman Ln. Brought the beach gear supplied by Sun & Moon House early in morning and left it till sunset. Went from house to beach to pool to beach all day long. The sunsets are unreal!!
The restaurants start at the end of Wightman Ln. You are one street away from all the major places and a short walk to the Green Flash. Lunch prices reasonable & dinner average/high. Cooked couple of meals at house went out the other nights.
Larry supplies you with all the information you need prior to arrival from rental equipment ( baby gear) to shuttle service. We used a shuttle service to & from Captiva really didn't need car. It was all about the beach & relaxing. The Sun & Moon House has everything you need for a great vacation!!! -

Just got back from a one week vacation at the Sun and Moon house. It was a great place to relax and the house is immaculate! We couldn't have asked for a better locaction for walking to the beach and walking to some great restaurants. The house has everything you could want to make your stay comfortable. The heated lap pool was so nice to have at the end of the day. It has bikes to ride and a grill on the deck. Just a short walk to a marina where you could rent boats, jet skis or arrange for parasailing. A little something for all age groups. The information from the owners Larry and Donna was very helpful and informative we used their suggestions quite a bit and were always pleased! Just a wonderful relaxing vacation. We have rented again for the same time next year.

The house is amazing, as is the the island. Larry and Donna take great care and pride in the place, and are always available for anything you might need. 5 stars is not enough for how great the house is, it's even better than you can expect. We have been to many places and rented many houses, but this far exceeds anything else. We will be going back for sure!!!

This darling home on Wightman is perfect in every way. It exemplifies the cheerful and casual lifestyle of the island. Because I found this spot via web search, I was a little unsure what I would find. The pictures don't do it justice. The entire house was spotless upon arrival and the best part is that it is stocked with everything you could possible need. The kitchen appliances, dishes, etc. are great for making dinner at home. The beach cart easily carried all six beach chairs and cooler the short distance to the beach each day. The washer/dryer came in handy as did the bicycles! Perfect for a family (our 26 years olds even loved the fish room)!!! Can't wait to go back next year.

We spent three weeks at Sun and Moon with our two kids (aged 6 months and 2 years old) and fell in love with the place instantly. It was exactly what we wanted in a property and had almost all the necessary amenities and facilities (please note that you'll need to rent strollers, high chairs, toys and the like but Island Rentals offer a good service on this front). The pool saw a lot of usage and was an absolute delight and the kids loved the 'fish room'! Other guests have remarked on how homely the welcome is with music playing and lights on upon arrival and this was also our experience as we quickly settled in. The beautiful beach is only a few minutes stroll along the private lane and we spent many an evening watching the sun go down (sometimes accompanied by dolphins!).
For me though, the stand-out feature of the property is the owners... Larry was on hand one occasion when we locked ourselves out and he drove an hour to reach us and save our day!
If your family require somewhere set in a lovely location away from the hustle and bustle of mainstream Florida and somewhere that feels like a home rather than a stuffy hotel then this place can't be faulted. Enjoy... -

Each summer, we have a family vacation on Captiva with our daughters and their families. This house was just perfrect for our family. The bedrooms are situated far enough apart to allow for individual privacy but being in the same house is great for family activities. The house was extremely clean, and the owners made sure that there were sufficient necessities, such as soap, tissue, and toilet paper, to start the week. The beach buggy and umbrellas were put to good use at the beach, as well as the floaties and other toys available for the grandchildren. The pool is refreshing, after spending a few hours on the beach, and the patio is great for a family gathering and cookout. Restaurants, the beach, and many activities are all within a minute walk, and we rarely used our rental car. My family highly recommends the Sun and Moon House for a perfect Captiva Island family vacation!

This was our first experience with staying in a house vice a hotel/motel...it has changed our minds completely, and we look forward to doing it again. We couldn't have been more satisfied. First thing my wife and daughter said upon surveying the Sun & Moon was "Uber Clean". There isn't an amenity missed. Every creature comfort is right there! The house is so inviting, and makes you feel like you have lived there a long time. Beach, restaurants, activities, within a minutes walk makes this a truly wonderful vacation location. Larry and Donna provide very accurate/honest ratings for the restaurants on Captiva as well as Sanibel. Looking at the other rental properties in the area the Sun and Moon is right at the top. Larry and Donna strive, and in my opinion, and have acheived perfection in every little detail. It is obviated by the fact that you want for nothing. It is also really difficult to put into words what a marvelous home (not house) the Sun and Moon quickly becomes. This is the best "bang for the buck" bar none. My wife Gail, daughter Tracy, son-in-law Matt, and grandson aiden feel truly blessed to have stayed in the Sun & Moon. One last thing...Larry and Donna are a phone call away if anything is not clear or needs attention. For example: The pool underwater light went out. It was fixed the next day while we were away. Lastly, Larry, Donna, thanks for a memorable vacation!

We spend a week in Florida each January with 2 of our adult children and 2 grandchildren from Fairbanks, AK and this year chose Captiva. The Sun and Moon house was absolutely perfect for the 6 of us. First and foremost for our group, the Sun and Moon house is extremely clean, bug free and comfortably furnished. The grandchildren and their parents had 2 very large bedrooms and adjoining baths on the second floor and we had a suite in the back of the first floor that could be closed off from the rest of the house. The privacy afforded by the floor plan works very well for extended families. We may have stayed in more luxurious villas in Florida but never in a home so well equipped and well cared for. We didn't even need to replace paper products during our stay! The kitchen is very well appointed with quality dishware and cooking equipment. It is obvious that Larry and Donna take great pride in the home and have put a lot of thought into providing for the comfort and convenience of their guests. Everything you need for the beach is provided and they have even reviewed local restaurants and have suggestions for shopping and activities in the area. From the home you are a short walk to the beach and many restaurants. Our favorite feature was the heated pool in the large screened pool area that the grandkids could use even when it was too cool for the beach. We loved the whole experience and will go back next year. Thanks, Larry and Donna! You can't go wrong with one of their properties or Captiva.

We arrived after dark to find the beach house inviting with lights on and music playing. We felt welcome from the start. The house was immaculately clean, and cheerful. It was the perfect beach house. Everything we needed was there. It was so comfortable. We loved being able to walk everywhere and especially the convenience to the beach, restaurants, grocery store and shops. We had bikes to ride and everything we needed for the beach, including a wagon to get it there. Very handy. The beach was beautiful, and the sunsets were wonderful. We loved walking in the morning, taking millions of photographs, shelling in the sun, and taking the Captiva Cruise to Cabbage Key. Wonderful cruise line - we saw dolphins both going out and coming in. It was spectacular as they were right next to the boat. The owners, Donna and Larry, left us a book explaining any instructions we needed and helpful information about the area. Even the light switches and tv equipment was labeled so we knew what switch did what. We loved listening to the owls at night and the tropical breezes. The only thing we didn't like was having to leave. It was a dream vacation, and Donna and Larry covered every base to ensure our good time.

My family enjoyed a very fun week at the Sun & Moon house in Captiva. The house is immaculate, and has all the amenities you need for a great week at the beach, including a beach cart, chairs, umbrella, and beach toys. The pool area was perfect for grilling out and swimming and the pool itself was the perfect size for my two small children (ages 3 & 4). The island is low key, and relaxed and the Sun & Moon is within walking distance from most of the restaurants/cafes. Donna and Larry are great hosts and will provide you with all that you need for your home away from home!

Our family has stayed at the Sun and Moon House many times and we have always enjoyed our holiday. The house is very well equipped and tastefully furnished. There are many personal touches such as the CD collection and beach equipment. This year the master bedroom had been refurbished which has added to the charm and comfort of the house. We particularly enjoy relaxing on the sun and moon deck and taking the short stroll to the beach. The house is very convenient for local shops and restaurants and the owners couldn't be more helpful.

The house was very comfortable and clean. The additional supplies like beach towels and beach toys were a definite plus. The walk to the beach or downtown stores was just the right distance, not too long. The tips on driving directions, shopping and restaurants were helpful.

Captiva Sun & Moon House was a delight. The interior color scheme created a happy upbeat feeling and the welcoming music upon arrival instantly set the tone for a relaxing stay ahead. I particularly enjoyed the lush surrounding vegatation, the screened-in pool, and the quiet neighborhood street.
