On of the most desirable Florida Gulf Coast Islands, Captiva is a vacation paradise. It is informal and ecological, in tune with nature and the ocean as well as fine dining and active water sports. A wonderful place for families to get together. It is also a romantic honeymoon or anniversary destination, and a quiet retirement get-away. Our cottage is walking distance to the Gulf of Mexico beach, and has beach access that is limited to the neighborhood. It is also just steps from the Bay side with fishing, marinas and water sports. The neighborhood is a mix of multimillion dollar vacation homes, and more casual cottages that are rented or used for active retirement. It is safe, exclusive, and yet friendly. There is no lack of activity with sea-kayaking, para-sailing, deep-sea and coastal fishing, nature-hikes and fine-dining all in walking distance. Sunset on Captiva is a nightly ritual where neighbors bring their drinks, frisbees and families down to the beach to toast the sun.
Biking is popular, and you are only a short drive to the more popular and crowded Sanibel Island. Our house has a driveway to accommodate 2 or 3 vehicles, and guests can also pull under the stilted house to store their cars out of the sun, or store boats or bikes.

There is a $49 rental insurance fee, which is charged since we do not have a security deposit. All is subject to 11% state and local tax.
If need to cancel, refund is given minus 10% of total rental fee, as long as notice is given soon enough that the property can be re-rented. If within 60 days of the rental, there is less chance of a refund.

  This house was just perfect for our family. The location was steps away from both the ocean and bay. Very comfortable house. It was equipped with all the essentials. Beds were comfortable. Can't wait to come back.
