SUMMER/FALL BENEFITS!

FISHING - Nine separate pools of separate fishing. July - October is awesome. Green drakes, hoppers and all kinds of mayflies. Always hatches of PMD's and Blue Wing Olives on the Frying Pan River which is only 3 miles away and there is always good fishing year around.

BIKING - We are in the middle of the Roaring Fork Valley and just 1/2 mile from the 45 mile long bike path from Glenwood Springs to Aspen. There is easy access to all levels of biking from our homes. The Missouri Heights are close by for the more adventuresome and the Frying Pan River road outside of Basalt is one of the most scenic rid...Read more

A wonderful home in a fishing and sports paradise.

Left on 01/19/2013 for a stay in January 2013

My husband and I plus another couple spent four great days at this home. The animals that the owner mentioned in the description did not prepare us for the multitude that we experienced. There were eagles flying among the trees across from the house in the nature preserve and a constant parade of deer and elk around the house.
Everything was provided for us - very complete kitchen for when we wanted to eat there and numerous restaurants within easy access to the house. Great shopping near by for the gourmet treats that you want when on a get-away.There's no need to go to the aspen area for food and groceries.
We loved the river for fishing and viewing. Steps were not that bad and the views the elevation provided were spectacular.
The house was clean and we had everything we needed. We would all definitely return to this house. It's so private and special. Thank you David for the wonderful time that we had there...

Left on 01/02/2013 for a stay in December 2012

This house has beautiful views. The hottub was very nice and has great views. The house is very well equipped with everything you would need in the kitchen. The house is large. The yard is very pretty. Just be aware if you have small children there is a drop off in back of the house. The house is very close to grocery stores and places to dine out. We did have a couple of small problems. The toilet in the hall bathroom ran the enitre time we were there. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable but if you sat on the end of the mattress the entire mattress flipped up. Also if you are allergic to pets probably not a good place to stay. Owner has a pet and there is pet hair present. Also the access down to the creek is down a very steep embankment. We were not aware of this from the picture you cant tell. If we had known we would have stayed somewhere else. There are steps but if you have mobility problems it could be very difficult. My husband has neuropathy in his feet and had a very hard time getting up and down the steps to the creek. Also there are no curtains or blinds in the master bathroom. Views are beautiful but we were not comfortable using the tub without window coverings. Overall we had a nice stay but would probably stay somewhere else because of the steep embankment to the creek.

Thank you for your four star review. We are sorry about the small problems you experienced and are addressing them now. The running toilet was due to the flush handle sticking in a downward position and stopped when flipped up. However, it has been replaced. A loose bed slat has been replaced so the mattress is stable. There may be a few dog hairs but our two lovely dogs are no longer with us and we continue to have the houses well cleaned after each rental. We will put curtains in the bathroom for those who do not enjoy the eagles and elk peering into the windows from the nature conservancy across the way. The river access has long, wide steps. We are on a small bluff, hence the lovely views, and have been told by some guests they enjoy running the steps for exercise. However, if you are partially disabled, the access may be challenging. Please see our video to gauge the angle of descent to the river. We have had over 300 fishermen guests and no complaint about the river access. Again, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to make our place exceptional for those visiting.
