Our family lived here a lovely week. The apartment is full equiped, all was perfect. It´s next to La Cité, well located in La bastide, there are free parkings near the apartment next to the river. We think is better stay here than La Cité because you can buy in the market in Carnot Place or park the car free and easily. Thanks Jason for your lovely apartment.

What a perfect place to stay! We could not fault the apartment and were thrilled with our 'oasis' from the summer sun. Perfectly placed and well equipped with a very helpful introduction from Inga who had kindly collected us form the airport. No air conditioning but it wasn't needed as there was a lovely breeze blowing through. It was the first time we had tried apartment accommodation and can honestly say it has turned our heads from the usual 4 or 5 star hotels we usually stay in. Plenty to do and see, sorry to return home!
Perfectly positioned under the city walls ... we will return!! -

Left on 08/07/2011 for a stay in August 2011
we just stayed in august for 5 days; great location; clean ; eng. tv, great kitchen and shower
downside; in august very busy street ; we were on street level apart; needs screens or curtain; no air condition and you have to close shutters for privacy;bedroom and living rm...drapes would have been great for some privacy ...very warm + stuffy sleeping at night with shutters closed. Inga was great. parking around corner , shops close by .
Overall I would recommend...thanks IngaResponse from Jason Carr - 08/22/2011
Owner
We are glad that these guests enjoyed their stay and appreciated the extra lengths we go to. They have made a couple of points which we feel we should clarify.
The apartment is not advertised as having air conditioning. It is not permissable to have A.C. units installed on the outside of these old buildings which sit so close to the historic Monument -Carcassonne Cité. However, there are fans provided. We have always thought that this apartment is quite cool, being on the ground floor with windows front and back and such thick old stone walls. As is the French way, we normally suggest leaving the shutters slightly ajar and the windows open whilst still retaining privacy. In France windows open inwards which means curtains are not practical and rarely used.
The outside street dates from Medieval times hence is narrow with no commerce and only resident's cars are permitted through.
In July and August, being so close to France's second most visited monument, there can be quite a lot of pedestrian traffic. After all the street is mentioned in the Kate Moss bestseller Labrinthe. To describe the street as 'very busy' we feel would be misleading.
Please note other guests reviews have described the street as 'very quiet'.

Ottawa, Canadawonderful location
Left on 07/04/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Stayed here with my husband in late June for 4 nights. Location was superb, minutes walk from the old city. Free parking on adjacent streets.A few basic stores nearby for essentials. Apartment was spotlessy clean, well appointed and secure. All appliances were new and shower in bathroom was great. Heated towel rails were a nice inclusion, as weather was damp and cool when we stayed. Owner was very welcoming on arrival. The sole detractor for us was the lack of light when shutters were closed/partially closed. This was necessary for privacy when in the apartment, as Renoir is at street level and both living room and bedroom face onto the street.

Just returned from staying in apartment Renoir, Rue de Gaffe, Carcassone. Lovely apartment and great location down a very quiet street. Really enjoyed the Medieval City but liked the town more with its market and cafes. Was really surprised when we arrived at how bitterly cold the wind can be there but that abated after a couple of days and it was relatively warm so take some winter woolies with you! Lots of shops in the town centre and the La Ferme cheese shop is a dream! L'Ecurie Restaurant is recommended as well as Robert Rodrigues near the post office - Excellent food in both. We were lucky to be there when the wine festival was on so had a chance to sample local produce and drink far too much! Next time we come we shall rent a car as I would love to explore the surroundings.

Fabulous brand new apartment, situated very close to La Cite.Great communication with Jason from booking the apartment to leaving the apartment.
Thanks to Inga and Jason we were collected from the station, taken to the supermarket to purchase some supplies before being dropped off at the apartment. This was a wonderful bonus as we had been travelling for over 24hrs.
The apartment was brand new so totally immaculate.Plenty of space.
The only things that could be added would be an iron / ironing board / clother airer as we were there for 2 weeks and got caught in a few spring showers.
No internet connection as yet but we believe that it could be on it's way.
Would highly recommend.

Left on 05/06/2010 for a stay in April 2010
We have recently returned from a week staying in Apartment Renoir - the first guests to this newly refurbished apartment. The apartment retains many of the original features, but has been very well equipped to a very high standard in bright, modern decor. The apartment was spotlessly clean and many essential items were provided for us on arrival. A huge thank you to Jason and Inga for their friendly and personal service - as well as picking us up from the airport on arrival, Jason even took us to the out of town supermarket and Inga took us back to the airport on departure. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The apartment is located in a quiet street in a perfect location half way between the Cite Medievale and the Bastide Saint Louis and there are 2 bakers shops just round the corner. Highly recommended.
