In the shade of an old almond tree, this former home of the "ramonés", people who once took care of the horses of the estate, leads onto a lovely garden planted with cypresses, olive trees and oleanders surrounding a private swimming pool. A charming gite in center of Montlaur, a small Corbières village with shops for everyday life : baker, grocer, butcher, chemist, post office, wineries...

For our first time in France, my wife decided to spend our summer in the South of France with our children. At the arrival in this lovely cottage in south east of Carcassonne, where we were extremely well greeted by the family unlike the rumors we had heard about the french hosts. The charming country side came with the beautiful weather making our journey perfect. The pool was lovely as was the garden, allowing the kids to have all the fun they could. I would really recommend this place for a nice week with the kids or friends!

very cosy and tasteful house, old furnitures makes you feel you are at home.
very clean, warm welcome , flowered living room, the house stands inn the middle of a very original village inn the middle of the wineyards which product a delightfull aromatic red wine.
The beds are firm and ithe linen smell of lavanda which means a lot to me.
I can not but recommand this very nice B&B;

We were a party of four adults - myself and three British friends - at the cottage this april.Not too lucky with the weather, rain and not really warm, we enjoyed a fire in the grate every evening.We were settled on our arrival by a lady who showed us around and we found that each room was well decorated and comfortable, very simple and in the fashion of an old country cottage. The kitchen is also well equiped and we had quite a few memorable meals provided for by the local butcher - delicious"charcuterie artisanale" and beef!. There are several supermarkets in Carcassonne (25 kms). We made a few excursions in the area, Lagrasse, Limoux, Foix are well worth the visit. When the weather permitted - it happened two or three times - we had breakfast in the lovely garden under the old almond tree.

We were met by the caretaker whom was very helpful (she arranged for people to mend the gate when it would not lock)We loved our stay in Montlaur it is a tranquil village but with a bakers a grocery shop, pharmacy, bar and an infants school(next door to cottage) The house is comfortable with a large very well equipped kitchen. Most of all we enjoyed the garden the pool the fact that you are on part of the GR 38/39 walking route which is well worth doing even a little for the wonderful views. From the cottage it is easy to drive into Carcasonne and Narbonne, both worth visiting. We also enjoyed wine tasting in the area. All in all a lovely place to be.
