"Chardonnay" is part of the original farm buildings of Chateau Canet in a wine and olive oil estate in the Minervois region of the Languedoc Roussillon. A spacious cottage (250 square meters) nesteled in the heart of the vineyards is ideal for a large family or a couple of families (sleeping for up to 10 people).
The cottage was rennovated in 2008, bright and welcoming with a large farm style kitchen and adjacent comfortable living room.
The kitchen has a great fire place and wood burning pizza and looks out over your private garden to a fruit orchard ( you can pick all the fruit you want) and the vineyards beyond).

We visited Chateau Canet in august with our 2 children. We were greeted warmly by the owner Victoria Lemstra-Bake and shown to our Gite. The Gite was decorated very nicely, and each day we were delivered fresh baguette, croissants, and pain du chocolate. We swam in the pool, played ping-pong, and visited the great Medieval Cite of Carcassone. Our kids want to go back next year, and so do we. We loved to wine and olives. It was everything we were hoping for and more.

187147Relax in a superb vineyard in a historic corner of France

After our son's wedding in mid September, we looked for holiday to relax, and to show the extended family from abroad an interesting corner of France. Carcassonne and the Pays Cathar we know from a previous visit to be an outstanding part of France. We chose Chateau Canet as it appeared to be a relaxing sort of place. Our expectations were more than fulfilled during our stay.
We were 6 adults and stayed in the Chardonnay. The three large bed rooms suited us well. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen and sitting room were spacious and well equipped. The entire house was spotless. The air was clean and the night sky clear. We enjoyed especially the figs from the orchard, the pool and the barbecue. Magret de canard, speciality of the region, is excellent barbecued, and accompanied with red wine from the Chateau.
The grapes are gathered on different nights over several weeks and we chanced on one such night during our stay. Floris, despite his busy night, showed us how modern wine-making works. Victoria gave us a warm welcome, showed us where everything is, booked restaurants for us, recommended places to visit, and treated us to a wine tasting. We enjoyed the Chateau's best this Christmas.
In summary we enjoyed living, eating and relaxing in superb accommodations and a historic corner of France. -

This was our second stay at Gite Chardonnay and it was even better than the first one! Summer is a glorious time for Chateau Chanet as the pool is a very pleasant spot and the abricots and figs and ripe and ready to eat! Victoria and Floris had brought some significant improvements to their domain over just a few months. The wine cellar and tasting room had been relocated to a much better building and had been decorated with elegant murals painted by a local artist. Chateau Canet is now more visible from the road with two stone walls with copper letters, reminding of the labels on their bottles.
We have recommended Chateau Canet to many friends and all of them had a wonderful time. If you are looking for a quality stay in graceful company, then this would be the perfect place to book. -

our family had a wonderful experience at chateau canet.Victoria and floris made everybody welcome and could not do enough to help us.the chardonnay cottage was just perfect for our large family.the wines are lovely and the cottages are well maintained.the chateau is ideally located for carcassone and only about 1 hour to the coast.i would recommend a holiday here to anybody that loves france and beautiful wines !

We celebrated our 40st and 50st birthday at Chateau Canet with 35 friends and
we had the most amazing time. The gites were perfect. Well provided and very
comfortable. Victoria and Floris are the perfect host. Showed us their winery,
did a lot of tasting, and even some blending. Victoria organised some very nice
activities like to visit of "La Cité de Carcassonne" and a "Barge Tour" on the
canals.
The orangerie is a perfect place to have large parties. Very well done with the
big glasses windows.
Floris and Victoria are very professional in their work; they are both
perfectionist.
In short, Chateau Canet and their owners were the perfect key to turn our
party to our best memories ever. Unforgetable. -

We stayed at Chateau Canet, Gite Chardonnay, for a week, over new year's eve. Chardonnay exceeded any of our expectations. The house is simply beautiful. Walking in, and the house says 'welcome', with warm colours, beautiful furniture and soft furnishings. All of it maintained to the highest standards by the caring owners, Victoria and Floris. The 'private' tour of the winery was unique, and shopping for the favourite wine is made very easy since le caveau is only a few steps away from the gite! We loved our stay so much that we have booked two weeks for the summer...we cannot wait! Booking is very easy, since the owners do take credit cards, unlike so many other gites in France, and both of them speak perfect English. Excellent internet included.
