We exchanged a timeshare for our stay at he Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort. Great unit and beautiful grounds. Very helpful staff and a great place to relax. Tons of great restaurants in the area. Prices were very moderate for a beach resort area. Would go back in a heartbeat

Seaford, DelawareRelaxing atmosphere Next to the Beach Surrounded by Fabulous Res

We traveled as a group of three couples from Delaware looking to explore the wineries in Temecula and Escondido. We didn't really know anything about Carlsbad or the Carlsbad Inn. We were more than pleased with the whole package. We live near the beach on the East Coast, so it was a real treat to see "the other coast".
Our accomodations were quite comfortable. We were in the condo units that looked like they were recently remodeled. It appeared the appliances in the kitchenette had never been used. Walks on the beach got us started each day. And we loved relaxing by the fire pit on the lawn each evening after a hard day of touring. The Inn offers activities, like a trip to Catalina Island, but we had other plans even before we arrived.
The staff was always friendly and helpful. Once I needed some tissues so I went to the front desk. The person helping me was so cheerful you would think her entire day revolved around helping me. Randy, the manager, has been there almost 23 years and many of the staff are long term employees. That includes Gray, the ex-marine security guard who keeps an eye on the place. These people are really invested in creating positive customer experience that will result in repeat business.
We loved that we could walk to all of the great restaurants in the area. After our morning beach walk, breakfast was at The Morning News. They have a full menu but we especially loved the Mexican dishes and a lobster omelette. Next to the Inn is Norte Mexican Food, across the street is Fresco Trattoria, and within 1/2 block is The armenian Cafe. Each these were sooo good we ate at each one multiple times. -

the location of the property was great but it must be the oldest and poorest run property in the neighborhood. The condo was not maintained properly. Poor value for money.

Love that this place was located right in Carlsbad so we could walk around town and with the beach just steps away.
Seems that actual "owners" don't appreciate that this facility rents rooms and functions as a hotel. The man staying below us made it clear he was an owner, and on the board. He knocked on the door our last morning there to complain that our children were making too much noise. We were packing to leave so there was a lot of activity with the five of us walking around the room getting stuff packed up. Felt like he was just bitter that we were in a room above him, yet were not "owners". Might to advise the "owners" that you do rent out rooms that are not being used by "owners" and that helps keep their costs down and facilities nicely maintained! -

Carlsbad Inn has everything you need to enjoy some time at the beach! It is clean, close to restaurants, shopping, beach, no car needed once you check in! We will definitely be back soon and frequently! Thanks for making it available!

The service was awful. Every time I called the front desk the answer was No in the most condescending tone. The elevator broke down. The security guard at the parking lot treated us as we were criminals for trying to park and it's a constant attack by the sales pitch to buy the time share. I just wanted a vacation.
Save your money and stay somewhere else.

UplandA beautiful condo in a great location.

This is the second year my family enjoyed staying at the Carlsbad Inn with one huge exception. Last year we had to move rooms and were told it was because most reservations were made from Sat through Sat and we were leaving on Sun, so the last night we moved to another room. This year we booked from Sat through Wed and had to move the first night. We moved 2 doors down and it is not a relaxing way to start a trip. I couldn't unpack our room at all considering we were moving so I felt like I wasn't really settled in until Sunday evening. We only moved 2 doors down which seemed ridiculous! We also made our reservation in Oct 2011 for an aug 2012 stay so it seems this could have been handled much better. Then while sitting around the fire one night we met a family that also had to move rooms, but they were given a dinner voucher. We are now 2 for 2 in terms of having to miss out on a full stay in one room...aggravating...

If you want to stay in Paradise this is as close to it as you can get. The Weather is great all year around. The front desk was great and friendly. There are many restaurants to pick from with in 10 miles. You can take the Coaster Rail witch will take you from downtown San Diego to the south to anaheim to the North to watch a ball game.

We love beach vacations but my husband is in sales and you never know what will come up! So after an extravagant splurge to Maui years ago we decided on Carlsbad village inn the next year. We've been coming back every summer since!! You check in, get your key and never get back in your car! Unless you like the outlets or race track or want to try the other great things San Diego offers. We live in Temecula so we just love to be at the beach. We can do the other stuff anytime. The condo is just a staircase away from the sand. Or you can stay up I. The grass courtyard or at the mini pool they have. You can rent bikes, use the gym, do a craft or go on an excursion!! They offer so much! We invite friends for the day and order pizza or use one of the bbq's for dinner. Or just walk to one of the many restaurants steps away! You toss your sandy towels and get fresh ones anytime. They provide beach chairs and you can rent anything else There are surfing lessons and surfboards for rent at any of the surf shops too! The condos have all the basics. Just stop at the market and get your lunch stuff or whatever you want and stock up for the week. I want to live here. It's so great!!

Buellton, CAComfortable condo for family of four
Left on 04/15/2012 for a stay in April 2012
We enjoyed our stay at the Carlsbad Inn. The size of the condo was great for two adults and two kids. The location is also great, withing walking distance of restaurants and just across the street from the beach. The grounds/facilities are beautiful, and staff friendly and helpful.
The complex was pretty quiet, we all slept well. The only real issues I had is that the kitchen wasn't stocked at all (w/exception of some coffee and a bag of popcorn), it would have been nice to have had condiments, oil, water, etc. The toilet seat was really flimsy also, and kept shifting whenever someone sat on it.
All in all, a pleasant stay in a very pretty resort.
