Separate cottage for two built in 2010. Total privacy, lots of amenities. Great location for walking into Carmel or hopping the Highway 1 to explore up and down the coast.
Everything is new - memory foam queen bed, plush linens. Living area with love seat. Coffee maker, microwave, small fridge - ideal for take out or leftovers. Stocked with complimentary coffee/tea, water, wine, juices, chocolates and snacks.

Love the location. It's a brisk walk to Carmel but nice to stretch your legs along the path. Everything you needed was supplied to you including a couple of extras! The place was comfy and quiet. Easy booking and Sylvia was very helpful and made you feel welcome. We enjoyed our stay there and have already recommended staying there to other people.

We needed a two night rental that was dog friendly and inexpensive. This delightful cottage more than fit the bill. It was a clean and cozy studio cottage that welcomed our two small dogs. The kitchen area was sufficient to make our breakfasts and the bed was super comfortable. Sylvia was a wonderful hostess who took time to orient us to the town and provide us with maps and wonderful recommendations for the best places to eat. She even had sodas, bottled water, and a bottle of wine in the fridge! Since we brought our dog crate along, we were able to leave the dogs in the cottage. I would certainly stay here again if I ever got the opportunity to return to Carmel.

I have to agree with the other guests that this studio is a gem. It has everything you need for a very comfortable stay in Carmel. It is private, very clean, and beautifully decorated with art. I loved the little patio area. The photos posted are an accurate representation. It is located in a beautiful residential area in a convenient location not far from a park, the town of Carmel, and the beach. Carmel is a very dog-friendly place with lots of great places for walking your dog. This was fortunate for us, because our dog sitter flaked out at the last minute, and we had to bring our dog along.
The owners, Sylvia and Tim, live in the main house on the same property and make themselves available if you need anything. They are a delightful couple and are exceptionally gracious and friendly. Sylvia was there to welcome us when we arrived, gave us maps, and generally filled us in about the area. Our basset hound even felt special and welcomed!
To sum it up, I don't know why anyone would stay in a hotel when they could stay here. If I had to describe it in one word, it would be "awesome"! The next time we go to Carmel, we hope we could stay here again.Response from Sylvia Savage - 04/04/2013

Tim and I really want our guests to feel like they're locals and so we've made the studio a comfy home base. Many walk into the village or to the beach like you did but it's also so easy to get to Highway 1 to explore up and down t he coast. Way better than most hotel options too. The studio is a real find - I am almost reluctant to say how much I enjoyed my stay to minimise the competition for my next trip.
The location is really convenient - residential and quiet but a short hop off Route 1 or into Carmel. The set up provides a truly quiet, private haven - regardless of what time I woke up from jet lag. The amenities were great - constant supply of good coffee, excellent wi-fi, comfy big bed and full shower/bath - even lovely toiletries.
I can't thank Sylvia enough for sorting out a surface so I could work even more easily and generally striking such a great balance of being a fantastic host but never intrusive.

So glad we were able to provide a sanctuary for you and also set you up with a comfortable work space for you electronics. I recently finished treatments for cancer and was looking forward to a few days at the coast. This was the perfect place for my husband and I. We had planned to stay 2 nights but at the last minute were able to add another night. The studio apartment is just that, small but cozy, very clean and new, tastefully decorated, special treats to munch on and a bottle of chilled wine waiting for us. There is plenty of storage, easily accessible wifi/internet service, very comfortable bed and pillows, nice amenities in the bathroom, and a cozy little private patio - a great place to sit in the afternoon sun with a book and glass of wine. The hosts were very helpful but not intrusive. Maps and directions were made available and extremely helpful. The location is great for a short walk or 2 minute drive to downtown Carmel or a short drive to Pacific Grove or Monterey.

My second visit was as perfect as the first time and maybe better when I stayed this September. And like before, Syl greeted me and made sure that I had everything I needed to feel comfortable, and it was like I had my own little slice of Paradise. I flew alaska airlines on a direct flight into Monterey from San Diego at night and once I left the airport, it was 10 minutes away. I had not gone to the store but there were plenty of snacks and wine for me. My friend from Napa drove down with her dog the next day and stayed the day. She found the private cottage so enchanting and loved the whimsical art outside on the private patio, and the quiet neighborhood and back lot were perfect to walk the dog. The studio is artful and super comfortable, the wi-fi was easy to connect the laptop to the Internet, the cable TV was centrally located to watch from bed or from the comfy leather couch. There was plenty of storage for unpacking and keeping my personals at hand in a built-in cabinet in the bath, and a nice closet in the main area. It was very peaceful and lovely to stay at the cottage that Syl made so comfortable. I felt right at home and didn't want to leave except to take a quick run downtown Carmel and it was easy to hop onto Hwy 1 to get around everywhere else in the Monterey Bay. I usually dined out and then warmed up the leftovers for lunch in the microwave. All in all, it was a fantastic spot for me and I can highly recommend it to a couple, a small family, or just one person like myself. I have business contacts in that area and it was great to have a place to land and call my own for a few days. I have not found anything I like better for the price and will not look further.
