This detached Irish cottage is situated four miles from Carna, County Galway, and sleeps six people in three bedrooms. Carna Cottage is a detached, single storey property located four miles from the village of Carna, County Galway, and enjoys some sea views from the garden. With three bedrooms, two doubles and one twin, as well as a family bathroom, this cottage is ideal for a family getaway. There is also a kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area and a sitting room with a pot belly stove. Outside there is half an acre of garden including lawn and garden furniture, as well as off road parking. With lots to see and do, and the sea just dow...n the road, Carna Cottage is an ideal base for exploring this part of Ireland.

Oil and electric inc. in rent. Starter pack of fuel for stove and open fire inc. in rent. Extra fuel can be purchased locally. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot. Off road parking for 4 cars. Front 0.5 acre lawn with garden furniture. Two well-behaved dogs welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops, pubs and restaurants 4 miles. Beach 10 mins walk.

Region: Towering cliffs stand next to vast stretches of golden sand, whilst vast mountain ranges cradle cool, low-lying lakes. The Galway region epitomises the term ‘great outdoors’; with fantastic walking and cycling and exhilarating water sports.

Town: The small village of Carna lies on the shores of Galway Bay, overlooking Galway Harbour, in the scenic region of Connemara. Lying off the coast of Carna is St. MacDara's Church and Island, a notable holy place in west Ireland, and a site of pilgrimage and mass in July. The sailing crafts, the 'Galway Hookers' were made in Carna, as well as a small boat called the Currach, and the area is well known for the skilled boat makers who crafted them. There are still some working examples of the Galway Hooker in Kinvara's quaint harbour. There is great fishing in the area with Lough Mask and Lough Corrib close by, while Connemara National Park, home to the famous Connemara Pony and Kylemore Abbey are both within easy reach, providing great days out for all the family.Read more

Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.

  peace and quiet in a fascinating landscape

  The owners of this cottage lived nearby and were most welcoming.Our family loved the cottage.though 5 of using 1 bathroom was a challenge.I missed a bath but facilities for everything else was fine.We are used to a rural existence but this might be a problem for some folk.
  Our daughter,son in law and granddaughter loved the walks in the area,the empty beaches and the time to be together.Tracing family roots in Galway was an added bonus especially when we found a distant relative.
  We all enjoyed the many nice places to have meals,visits to places of interest and towns and the lovely Irish people and the landscape inspired me to paint
