18633710 out of 10. Beautiful cottage & brilliant host. Wouldn't stay
Left on 12/05/2011 for a stay in December 2011
I stayed at Darley cottage with my 3 brothers and Dad, to visit my dads birth place, and have to say I never expected anything as beautiful as this. The cottage was ideal, and much better than a B&B;, as it has a huge living room which gives you a communal area to relax in front of fire. Plus we had cottage to ourselves so felt like home from home. The cottage was decorated to a high standard and immaculate throughout.
The breakfast was 1st class and everything you would want is provided for. Duncan, the host, was fantastic. Lovely bloke who made sure we had an amazing stay. Great value for money!!
Thank you for making our visit to Carrickmacross one that my dad will never forget.

580419Stunning Cottage, Perfect!

We recommend highly!!! This cottage is truly stunning, in a quiet and tranquil location, yet only minutes from the town.
The whole cottage has the wow factor. It has all modern amenities, yet sympathetically renovated to an extremely high standard. My two daughters cannot wait to go back again.
We have been visiting family in Carrickmacross for 15 years, and have never stayed anywhere as wonderful as this.
The owners Duncan & Rhona are extremely helpful, and we cannot recommend enough.
We will be going back next year! -

Buffalo, New YorkHistoric cottage with modern comforts in a charming location
Left on 09/29/2011 for a stay in September 2011
Darley was our home away from home for two weeks. Although it is a historic structure, it has been beautifully restored to include comfortable furnishings and modern amenities. It is spacious and kept impeccably clean. Although it is only a short drive from Carrickmacross, Darley Cottage offers the charm of a rural setting. Duncan, the hospitable owner, is both attentive and helpful. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more.

Derby, United KingdomAbsolutely Stunning cottage!

We went for the option of renting the whole cottage as opposed to B&B.;
From the signed gustbook at the property, whichever you choose you will not be dissapponted.
The service was second to none. Very warm welcome and towels changed during our stay. Advice offered on local amenities and places to eat.
While Ireland is not a cheap place for a holiday, the rental of this cottage would be the least of your concerns.
The living/dining, dining/kitchen and bedrooms are enormous. Each bedroom has an en-suite and a dowstairs toilet as a spare! There is TV in just about every room.
The location is very quiet and secluded but only 3 miles from a medium sized store and 5 miles from the village of Carrickmacross.
I cannot stress how much we would recommend this cottage. If we return to the region I will be straight in touch!
Thanks Duncan!
