This 5000-square-foot, 17th-century Spanish colonial mansion, newly restored and appointed, achieves a perfect blend of modern luxury and historical integrity on one of the most prestigious blocks in the Old City of Cartagena.
Renowned architect Javier Acevedo's design introduces light, air and water to the house's original archways, vaulted beamed ceilings, staircases and cistern to breathtaking effect. This is defiantly a must rent place if anyone is considering to vacation in Cartagena. The location could not be beat with everything from the best restaurants to the most lively bars all within walking distance! The house itself is just a work of art from the living room pool to the rooftop Jacuzzi. Not to forgot the top notch furnishing through the place! And last but not least house keeper and maid do an amazing job the whole time of your stay. They were awesome and the house owner defiantly is someone you would trust and love to deal with when booking a house out of the country. Thanks for the great time!

I could not speak more highly of the experience my friends and I had staying at this outstanding property.
The owner, Greg, was very helpful throughout the booking process and in the weeks leading up to our stay. Before booking the house, Greg set up time to speak with me on the phone about the property and answer any questions I had. In the weeks leading up to the trip, he was very responsive and helpful with last minute questions and recommendations.
In terms of the property itself, the great pictures do not do justice to how beautiful it is in person. The rooms are very clean and comfortable, and it's a treat to have a pool in your living room to take dips in after walking around the Old City for hours.
The caretaker Jose and housekeeper Maria made us feel at home and were very helpful with whatever we needed. When we arrived and needed to find an aTM and a good spot for lunch, Jose personally escorted us around Old City to the nearest aTM and brought us to a good lunch spot. When we wanted to buy some groceries for the house, Jose just told us to give him and Maria a grocery list and did the shopping for us.
Despite some late nights with lots of aguardiente, we always looked forward to waking up in the morning to eat the delicious breakfasts that Maria would prepare for us every morning. In addition to preparing breakfasts, Maria would clean the entire house, put fresh sheets on the beds, and make the entire place spotless (a hotel experience acheived with a vacation property).
One note for those staying with a full group, the front library that has the pullout single bed is not ideal for light sleepers due to its proximity to the street and the horse-pulled carriages roam the roads until the late hours.
From start to finish, we had a great experience with the house and the people who own and operate it. I would strongly recommend it for anybody looking for a comfortable, relaxing, and accomodating place to stay in Old City, Cartegena. -

Having seen the photos of the house, we were expecting a beautiful place to stay for our trip to Cartagena. However, what we didn't know is that there would be such extreme comfort, calm and perfect service as well. It was really an all-around gorgeous place to call home for the 5 days we spent there. The owner was extremely friendly, helpful and reliable. The staff was as well, and took care of our every need. Basically, it was flawless. Moreover, Cartagena is an incredible place to visit, however, we equally looked forward to tucking into our peaceful abode whenever we got tired or hot throughout the day or night. Taking frequent dips in the beautiful courtyard pool or rooftop jacuzzi were wonderful ways to break up the day. And the location couldn't be more perfect for such spontaneous drop-ins. Having your home directly in the center, as well as right next to the ocean and old city wall is simply amazing. We can only recommend staying at this haven of relaxation and we hope we find our way back there again one day!
