The Old Bank House is a three storey grade II listed building with the benefit of a sheltered south facing patio garden. Centrally located between the village store and Kings Arms Inn and only 100 yards from the award winning Michelin 2* l'Enclume Restaurant. The pretty village of Cartmel is famous for its Priory and races, ideally situated for visiting the southern Lake District and Morcambe Bay.

At short notice we booked into the Old Bank House. Cartmel is one of our most favorite locations in the whole of the UK, and this rental is right in the centre.
Your welcomed by an excellent kitchen and dining room, stylishly presented and well equipped. To the rear is a lovely courtyard style private garden area. The first floor living room is cosy with warm soft lighting, and the bedrooms have a cottage feel, and you can easily accommodate 6 adults and maybe 3-4 kids(if they top and tail in the excellent kids bedroom). The bathroom is large, but just needs a little refreshing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and over the course of the week had a variety of friends and family visit and stay. -

This cottage has an amazing location in a lovely square in Cartmel. It is full of character and has all of the facilities you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is good enough to actually cook in and the beds and furniture are all really comfortable. It is within crawling distance of several pubs and restaurants and great walking is close by. Check out the artisan bakery and Cheese Store too. One of the few down sides is that the bathroom doesn't quite live up to the rest of the property but was clean and functional. The house was lovely and warm when we arrived ...although at short notice (which may explain the average rather than good/excellent on the cleaning rating ...) For this area, it is deffinitely value for money and I would rent it again.
