We stayed in a 3 bed villa with our 7 and 9 year old boys. Really nice place, well furnished and clean. Walk into town (bars and restaurants) 15 mins. There aren't any better places to stay closer to town and this is just far enough away! Will be returning!!! Read more

Great Villa in Carvoeira!
Great two bedroom Villa with quick and easy walking distance to the beaches and the city. The property was very clean, quiet, and beautiful. The staff was very accommodating and made us feel right at home. We really enjoyed the pools as we were the only ones at the smaller pools so it felt like we had our very own private pool. The restaurant staff was awesome, they made the best Sangria and also made us whatever we wanted to eat! The only minor complaint is the beds were a little hard, but overall this is a great great place to stay! Read more

Hi Billie - thank you so much for taking the time to write a review and delighted that you enjoyed your stay at Hibiscus. Generally the pools are very quiet all year round, even when the place is full to bursting, as it was when you were there - I never really worked that out - I think everyone must disappear off to the beaches! First year for this Chef and we have had great feedback. I think the beds are a personal choice but certainly I think some owners might consider some mattress toppers for those guests who prefer a softer bed. I will pass this on to the owner of this villa. Thanks again and we look forward to welcoming you back another year. Best wishes, Chris
We had an excellent stay at Hibiscus. The villa was as described in a great spot with views to the sea and only a short walk into town. The site has well established and well kept gardens and the main pool area was perfect. Staff were friendly and the complex was quiet and just what we were looking for and we aim to come back. There were some minor details that could be investigated, such as the garden furniture for the villa needs replacing and the main pool needs a bit of renovating. There wasnt really enough pillows and the beds were a bit on the firm side. Our main bugbear was around the pool as a group of 5 families whose villas were adjacent to the pool constantly used the Germanic towel reservation tactic commandeering more than half the beds and most of the poolside. Most of the time the beds were not in use but other families were stopped from using the pool by this selfishness. It maybe something the owners could point out in future. Read more

Hello Ian - thank you so much for taking the time to review. Regarding the 'minor details': I will make a note of the villa you stayed in and report back on this. The conditionl of the outside furniture really isn't a reflection of the condition of the majority of the furniture at Hibiscus. The furniture is of course the responsibility of the individual owner and I only refer bookings for the villas as I own the apartment but it is noted. There should be plenty of pillows and I am sure Marialice would have been more than happy to supply additional ones if you needed them. I guess the beds are a personal choice. I love my own bed and they might all differ but I am thinking of supplying an additional mattress topper for guests who enjoy a much softer bed, although I have yet to receive any complaints about the bed. The main pool has lost a few tiles due to some terrible weather at the end of last year (we had a tornado in October!). Getting the pool repaired mid-season simply isn't possible but I would certainly expect this will be sorted for next year. The main pool is generally pretty quiet, even in high season because guests disappear off to the beaches so you were a little unfortunate there but up until now there really hasn't been any need to have any particular rules regarding reserving beds. I agree it is selfish. Had I been there, I would have just removed the towels and used the beds :) However, I think the majority of our guests are very considerate.
Despite all the issues, we hope to welcome you back another year.
Thank you again for your feedback. All feedback, positive or negative, helps us improve our service to our guests.
Very relaxing and beautiful stay
The service was great, the house was beautifully decked out with contemporary furniture, the kitchen and bathroom were well equipped and the pools were great. A great location with plenty of beaches available. Carvoiero is a charming place with friendly people and nice eateries. Particularly good was O Boneco which had spectacular views and good service. Calming & Relaxing hideaway.
Upon our arrival at Hibiscus Gardens we were met by Maria who gave us a warm and friendly welcome. She took us personally to our apartment and explained all the facilities available at the apartment and at Hibiscus Gardens.
The apartment was very well equiped with a modern fitted kitchen and flat screen satellite tv in the lounge. We chose a one bed which was ample in size with a large bathroom/shower. The only slight complaint was the mattress which was not the most comfy I have ever slept on, but that does seem to be a common problem with all beds in Portugal. The apartment had excellent air-conditioning and was equiped with a safe.
The location is beautifull. Set in a lovely part of Carvoeiro which is only 15 mins walk from the town centre. Great to walk down but you may wish to get a taxi back as it's all up hill. Taxis are always available for 5 Euros. It was a pity as we didn't see the best of Hibiscus Gardens as when we arrived the pool side bar was closed, and was not due to open until the day we were leaving. Regarding the overall view of Hibiscus, the place did look as though it needed a little TLC. There were a few tiles missing in the swimming pools, and a little paint on the outside entrance wall would not have gone a miss. But despite these small points, it did not stop us having a wonderful time.
What I liked best about Hibiscus was that it allowed me to relax totally and enjoy the Portugese sun in pure calming surroundings. What I liked least was the feeling that I had arrived two weeks too soon, as many areas of Hibiscus were still being worked upon. However in my opinion I would definely go back there, and I would like to give a special thanks to our holiday co-ordinater Chris Brogan who went to exceptional lengths to ensure we had a wonderful holiday. Whatever we asked for she and the staff at Hibiscus did their very best to accomodate.
Response from Chris Brogan - 05/29/2013
Hi Phil - thank you for taking the time to review. All reviews, whether favourable or not, are welcome as it gives us an opportunity to respond and improve. For Hibiscus (and much of the Algarve) it was a late start to the season this year. We had unusually unseasonal weather which continued much later than normal, including a tornado that hit the local surroundings in October followed by very high winds and lots of rain! It is taking a little longer than normal to get everything ship-shape again so I think your observations were correct. I hope to welcome you back another year - it has been a real pleasure to have you and your wife as guests. Many thanks again and kind regards Chris

Great stay, great location!
We visited Hibiscus Gardens in the begining of May 2013 with a family (2 adults and 2 children (4yrs/2yrs). The contact with Chris was very good: personal and quick response. She even arranged a good contact for the transfer 2nfro the airport, Great! All expectations we had came true.
Some pro's and cons about our stay:
- The appartment is light and nice luxurious furnished
- Spacious rooms ,great living and a well equiped kitchen
- Two nice bathrooms.
- A shared pool with a small pool for children
- A playground for our children.
- Toys for the pool and toys for the sandbox (we didn't bring them...and could use these: great!)
- Great space to relax in the outdoor seats.
- A reslaurant with a poolview where you also can borrow books, dvds.
- the double bed mattrass was not like home ;-) (@ home we have a softer mattress...it's personal)
- We did't have a rental car so we walked every day to the beach. It was a nice walk but with young kids you'll need a buggy.

Lovely Villa with brilliant amenities
Our stay in Hibiscus Gardens was great. The Villa was very well presented and spotlessly clean. We had a heated pool which was great for the kids. The bedrooms were a great size and the TV had UK channels. All the team at Hibiscus Gardens were very kind and helpful. There are some lovely restaurants and beaches in the nearby area. There is also a Supermarket nearby. We would love to return. Also a big thank you to Chris who made the booking and organising a pleasure. Read more

Dear Gavin & Nikki
Thank you so much for taking the time to review - it's much appreciated. I hope to welcome you back another time.
A little bit of heaven
Prior to our holiday we had excellent assistance from Chris in terms of booking, car hire, directions to villa etc. On arrival we were shown to our villa and were truly thrilled with what we found; great living space, tastelful decor and well equipped. I travelled with my two children, age 20 and 17 and the villa offered great accommodation with space for all and two shower rooms. The roof terrace was an added bonus which we used in the evenings on returning from dinner. We had the use of three pools and had sole use of one of the smaller pools. It was a short 10 minute walk to restaurants, perfect! We felt the development was very secure. We loved the location and the gardens and plants were delightful. This is our 4th trip to Carvoeiro and we will definitely return to Hibiscus Gardens. Read more

Lovely accommodation in well kept surroundings
Our stay at Hibiscus Gardens was fantastic. The accommodation was light, airy and nicely finished to a contempory spec. We felt very relaxed and enjoyed the use of the communal areas which were well kept and surprisingly tranquil. The small bar/restaurant had a cosy, communal feel with the facility of borrowing books and Dvds and the food on offer was simple but good. Although we felt that a more regular maid service would have enhanced our stay, we would nonetheless definitely go back. A gorgeous holiday! Read more

A haven in the algarve!
The service we received when booking the villa at Hibiscus Gardens was excellent. Chris couldn't do enough to help. On arriving there we were greeted warmly by Maria at reception who took us straight to our accommodation. We were very pleasantly surprised - it was cool (the aircon was on which was much needed!) modern and stylish. The space was very well thought out and all the rooms and bathrooms were decorated tastefully and were all clean. There was a lovely balcony area with very comfortable seating and a small garden area, leading out from double sliding doors. There was a lovely modern open staircase which added to the feel of spaciousness. The main pool within the complex was a perfect size and was well stocked with various inflatables for the children and sun loungers for the grown ups. There was a restaurant/bar area which served very good meals, catering for all tastes. One critism would be the fact that they do not take credit cards - only cash or debit. I would have thought in this day and age it would be possible...?!
The two things that I would critise about the accommodation itself would be the fact that whilst the kitchen is sleek, modern and has all the conveniences you would expect and is very well supplied with pots and pans etc there were very few glasses in comparison. Also, I felt the garden was much smaller than I had anticipated and was more overlooked than I thought. I think it would be good to increase the boundary planting to provide more privacy and perhaps to add some awning to provide additional shelter from the harsh sun (as the parasol did not really provide enough). All in all though it was an excellent holiday and we were very sad to leave. Read more

Thank you so much for your feedback and comments which I will pass on. The gardens have, in the last year or so, been separated by the greenery/planting and it is still relatively young so might well get better with time. The restaurant staff are new this year and normally it is possible to note what has been eaten and payment by card at end of holiday - but I will definitely feed this back if the same people are returning next year. So glad you enjoyed your holiday and hope you will return another time. Kind regards, Chris
We have had a fantastic family holiday at Hibiscus gardens. The villa was beautiful, modern and incredibly spacious. The complex is very well looked after and very clean. Chris Brogan was very efficient and extremely helpful throughout the booking process and the service was excellent once we got there. Location is great, approx 10 minute walk into Carvoeiro and to beach with loads of lovely restaurants. Would definitely go back without hesitation. Read more

Fantastic relaxing holiday in luxurious and peaceful holiday com
My mother and I stayed for one week in a 2 bedroomed villa at Hibiscus Gardens.
Even though it was the height of the season and the complex was fully occupied it was amazing how quiet and peaceful it was. The complex has a very relaxed and informal atmosphere it and it feels very exclusive.
The landscaping is lovely. The grounds and villa gardens are immaculately maintained. The three pools were always very clean.
The on-site restaurant was very handy. It's great that you can take the food away with you if you want to eat back at your accommodation. The staff were very helpful and flexible. The cocktails were very addictive!
The villa was very high spec. Every piece of equipment was provided (although we could have done with a couple more baking trays). The villa was spotless-the standard of cleaning is very high. The roof top terrace is a real luxury-it is a sun trap, so very hot during the day in august, but ideal for sitting out during the mornings and early evenings.
The take away pizza from Mama Mia was the best we've ever eaten. O Salmao was lovely-the service was brilliant and the lamb chops were divine. The best meal we had however, was at O Boteca-the restaurant overlooking the sea on the way into town. The hake was a hit-it was cooked in a very light batter.
Carvoeiro itself is absolutely lovely. The tourist train which runs daily is brilliant and exceptionally good value. It is 3 euros for a 30 minute tour of Carvoeiro and it is well worth taking the tour at the start of your holiday as it helps to orientate yourself and you see so much of Carvoeiro and its environs.
The service from FrontRow taxi company which the management of Hibiscus Gardens organised on our behalf, was exemplary.
I would definitely book again at Hibiscus Gardens as you are guaranteed a relaxing and peaceful holiday in high spec accommodation, in beautiful grounds with attentive staff. Read more

What a lovely review Janice, thank you. I'm so glad your mother enjoyed the holiday also. Glad to hear the restaurant was a success - it's the first year for the new chefs here and hopefully they will return next year as everyone has said how good they have been. I hope to welcome you both back another time. Kind regards, Chris
Very relaxing holiday
We stayed in a 2 bedroomed villa at Hibiscus Gardens. The resort was lovely - very quiet, relaxing and chilled out. The villa was well equipped, clean and light with floor to ceiling windows. There was a communal pool with a small restaurant and bar and library of books and dvds. It felt extremely safe for our 9 year old daughter to wander around and she made lots of friends. The villa is walking distance into Carvoeiro (a very scenic walk or a much shorter cut) and also a short drive to Ferragudo (a small fishing village) if you want to avoid the tourist restaurants. There is also a small square with plenty of restaurants which is a short walk away and nearer than Carvoeiro (our daughter really liked it there). In short we very much enjoyed our holiday - would recommend it to others and will certainly be returning. Read more

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Hibiscus. Ferragudo is a lovely place and has great fish restaurants right on the beach. You can watch the fisherman catching the fish for your dinner! Also a lovely bar where you can watch the sun go down whilst sipping a cocktail - live music on Saturday nights. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back another year. 5 star accommodation in a peaceful setting!
Hibiscus Gardens is a beautiful place to stay, the Villa's are gorgeous, spacious and very modern. Our children (9 and 6) had a ball and loved the pool. The first week (4th July) was quieter than the second ( a few more sun beds as more people arrive would be good) and everyone was very friendly. The staff couldn't be more helpful and the food in the poolside restaurant was great! I would thoroughly recommend this for a family holiday, especially as towels are replaced regularly and the beds changed mid-stay. We drove to a number of different beaches with 'Albandeira' definitely the most beautiful! A short ten minute walk will take you into Carvoeiro, where we had some great food especially at 'Happy's' and 'Taste'. The restaurant 'Villa Nova' was just around the corner and was a real find!
Overall the villa was superb; showers were excellent, sun terrace private and inviting, kitchen well equipped, lounge perfect for relaxing in with some sky channels (good for the kids during the hottest part of the day). We also had a BBQ for our second week, which was great, so too was the local 'chicken carry out'. The only small complaint was the double bed upstairs wasn't very comfortable and the kitchen needed a larger fridge (I know some of the other villa's and apartments have two). Read more

Hi Jane - thank you so much for reviewing and great to get feedback on the local restaurants too - I will make a note so that I can recommend them in the future. 10 days in June at Hibiscus Gardens
We decided to book at Hibiscus after reading great reviews. We were delighted with the accomodation (originally booked an apartment but was given plenty of notice that the owners were staying so stayed in a two bed villa instead at the same cost!)
After exploring the region we realised we had picked the right area and the right complex. Many thanks to Chris for organising and answering all questions.
The villa was modern and comfortable. The kids loved the swimming pools. Carvoeiro is lovely with many beaches a short drive away. Criticisims - eating out is very expensive! we got stung quite alot which we dont mind as long as the food is good quality but we had some dodgy meals - get a recomendation if you can... The walk into Carvoeiro town is a killer with a double buggy but then most people arent daft enough to have two kids under 3yrs! Ate one lunch at the on site restaurant, it was very basic but ideal for drinks and ice creams at the pool. Weather was fantastic. Would stay again. Read more

Thank you so much for taking the time to review Hibiscus - I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay at Hibiscus. We have new people in our restaurant this year so we will see how it works out - I have yet to go out and try myself! Sorry to hear that you didn't always have the best food in local restaurants - I think generally they are excellent but a good idea to get recommendations. I keep a list in my apartment from previous guests who have eaten out in the area and Reception are always happy to recommend. We look forward to welcoming you back another year and thank you again for your custom. Kind regards, Chris
A delightful holiday made memorable by the beautiful weather, th
The development is well put together so that there is plenty of space so much so that I was never toubled with "congestion". The amenities were very good especially for children with pool and play area where parents can keep a watchful eye.
The villa was of a really superior standard - the fittings were all good quality and the soft furnishings were stylish. The coordination of decor was really nice giving a welcoming feel.
The location is ideal not only because of the sun. A short walk to the town and beaches. Lots of places to eat, drink and relax with several very good restaurants within 200-300 yards. Especially O'saumon and L'orange which stand out in quality, service and standards.
Finally a mention for Maria who was so charming and helpful with all my requests from excursions, taxi's etc etc etc etc. What a delight and I will return would recommend the development to friends. Read more

A relaxing stay in a lovely villa
The accommodation is very spacious with everything you need. The resort was great for young kids - our 18 month old loved the pool and play area and a stair gate was provided on request. It was lovely to have a private garden area behind the villa as well as the shared pool.
It was a shame that the cafe on site didn't open until the day before we left as this would have been useful.
The main pool and kids pool are not heated so are a bit cold for a young child who can't swim to keep warm.
All in all though I would recommend Carvoeiro and the resort to anyone with young children. Read more

Thank you for taking the time to review Michelle. The restaurant normally doesn't open until later in the season when we are busier as we serve fresh food which gets wasted when we are quiet. The pools are heated naturally by the sun as we move into the warmer season but we are considering making one of the smaller pools heated all year round at some point. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back another year. Kind regards, Chris
Another great holiday at Hibiscus Gardens
This is our fourth stay, so obviously we are very happy with Hibiscus Gardens. We are a family with two kids aged 6 and 4 and it really is a great play to stay with kids. lovely accomodation, clean and spacious and staff are very helpful, as always. thanks to Chris for helping us organise it and to Mariealice for all her help when we were there. Relax in tranquil surroundings!!!
The villa was very spacious and finished to a exceptionally high standard. Although we take this trip every year, this was our first stay at Hibiscus Gardens, and because the villa was so nice, we spent a lot more time relaxing and chilling on the terrace. About a 15 minute stroll into the town centre, all down hill and not a problem walking back, although it's worth paying the €5 taxi fare in the evenings. We found the villa good value for money in comparison to other places we've stayed and would definitely recommend it for a relaxing holiday or as a base for exploring. The communal pools and surrounding areas were really clean and well maintained. Enjoy!!
Fanstastic place. Stayed in a 2 bed villa- very modern, spacious, balcony, and with private garden. Great swimming pool- was quiet in September so at time had the pool to ourselves. Water in the pools is warm unlike other places in Europe where water in swimming pools is freezing! Staff are all very friendly. Decent gym with treadmill, cross trainer, bikes and weights. The location of the complex is also ideal. 10mins walk to centre of Carvoeiro. Walk back is up hill though. Carvoeiro is a little fishing town with a great beach. Would definitely go back here and recommend anyone looking at the algarve should look no further than this place!
Fantastic development in a lovely town!
We stayed at hibiscus gardens for an extended holiday of 5 weeks. We found it to be perfect for our requirements. The development is compact, quiet, really clean and the facilities are great. The staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay and were always there whenever we needed anything (which wasn't often as we had no problems!)
Our two-bed villa was lovely, with modern, comfortable furnishings and it really is equipped with anything you could possibly need during your holiday! The villa also has wi-fi which was was hugely important as we were working while we were there. However it's the extra touches throughout the development which make Hibiscus Gardens stand out - gym, book/dvd library, bbq's to borrow, bikes to rent, honour bar/drinks system...it all just makes life very easy!
One thing I would advise is having a car...! While the development is only a 10 minute walk to the centre of the town, Carvoeiro is quite hilly and Hibiscus Gardens is at the top! It also makes things like supermarket shopping a lot easier as well as for day trips/golf etc.
Carvoeiro itself is really nice with fantastic scenery - I recommend going on a boat trip to see the caves! It's not too busy or loud and has a great selection of bars and restaurants with seafood to die for!
Hibiscus Gardens is one of the nicest places we've stayed and I would highly recommend it - we will be back!

Top quality resort in a quiet location
The accommodation standards were fantastic, in this quiet location, perfect for a relaxing holiday. 10-15 minute walk to range os restaurants and entertainment. Children loved the range of pools. Would definately stay there again and recommend to others.
great villas in good location
two couples stayed for a week had a great time beautiful villas with everything you need good location, great service from the team.
The facilities, location and staff really suit our family
Overall set up is great but fairly expensive. We did not receive daily maid service and internet connection is unreliable.Other than those small issues it is a lovely resort with contemporary furnishings.
We like the size of the development and the very helpful and friendly staff. Read more

I believe Hibiscus cleaning did have some blips during an incredibly busy period in August and I am sorry this affected you. I am assured that the cleaning rota is now under control and I hope this did not spoil your holiday too much. Thanks for returning for the 2nd year and hope to see you again. Kind regards, Chris
Just what the Doctor ordered
My children and I had a lovely time at Hibiscus Gardens. We had a 2 bed luxury apartment that definitely earned its description - the roof terrace was perfect for my evening get away (with a glass of wine) and the accommodation was spacious enough for all 4 of us to have our own space when needed. All at Hibiscus Gardens went out of their way to be of assistance - my two particularly liked the honour system at the snack bar and Friday night tapas with Sangria served my husband very well. All in all a lovely break - next time we will stay for longer!
lovely surroundings, very family friendly, great location,
We all had a fantastic time at hibiscus gardens the villas are lovely as are the surrounding gardens, all staff were very friendly and made you feel at home, it was just what we wanted not too busy, quiet and peaceful but enough for the children to do, and a nice walk down into town. The only negative point we had was we had to ask for the bed sheets changing and the cleaners didn't come in daily as advertised. However we would definately recommend it to family and friends and would definately return. We had a lovely holiday. Read more

Thanks so much for your feedback. It's important to us that we get all feedback - positive and negative - so we can improve our service to you. I have taken up your issue with the cleaning and I believe that there was a sudden shortage of cleaners during a really busy period. I have been told this has now been rectified but no excuse for the lack of attention for which I apologise and hope it didn't spoil your stay. Chris

fantastic accomodation in a great location.
My family and I stayed in the 2 bed villa in Hibiscus gardens. It was lovely, clean, spacious and well equipped. The stone staircase was not great for our one year old but we managed anyhow. Would love to return next year. The pool area and bar/restaurant are great along with great staff that create a relaxing atmosphere from the time you arrive - nothing is too much trouble. Read more

Unfortunately, we could only fit the stair gate at the top of the stairs and not the bottom as we are awaiting delivery of stair gate extenders to fit the bottom, as it's wider. Looking forward to welcoming you back another year. Chris
Absolutely our best ever holiday
we stayed in a 2 bed villa which felt like a 5 star hotel but also our home. Daily maid service excellent service. Pool area and little bar and restaurant excellent food and service. The staff and all the other guests we met made it feel like we were all friends staying together. Cannot say enough about it, already looking forward to returning again. Read more

We are all looking forward to welcoming you back in October Tara. Kind regards. Chris
Our stay at the Hibiscus Gardens was perfect. A stunning villa in a peaceful beautifully maintained and private complex, absolutely perfect for us travelling with our baby and toddler.
We mostly self catered and it was a home from home with a superbly equipped (and pristine) kitchen. The maid service was exemplary and Christina kept our villa like a shiny new pin.
The walk into Caroveiro can be quick, or picturesque, with wonderful and dramatic see views as you meander down into the centre of town, which was very family friendly. We chose a taxi ride home on account of the children but it was easy to walk back up the hill (without a heavy double pushchair).
I have holidayed in some amazing places, but this accommodation has to rate as the best I have ever stayed in. We will return.
We will definately return.
We stayed in 2 bed villa with 2 children aged 13 and 10. The villa was absolutely immaculate with all the necessary touches to make it great for our requirements. The daily cleaning was a real bonus! The complex was very quiet when we were there which was ideal for us. The two pools we used were fantastic and our villa was ideally placed. The reception was really helpful and everyone was very friendly. We had pre booked a car from the airport which we would strongly recommend as the best beaches / restuarants / large supermarkets are a drive away. A visit to the water park is a must if you're on holiday with children! All in all a truly fantastic holiday!
Beautiful, quiet development very relaxing environment
This was our second stay in Hibiscus Gardens and hopefully we will return again. The villas and apartments and surrounding gardens are beautiful. Very clean and the service, should you have any queries is very prompt. Staff are very friendly and helpful and Chris Brogan whom we rented from is helpful in the extreme and like last time made booking and organising the villa very easy and hassle free. We stayed with two young children aged 4 and 2 and a half and they loved it. The development is very quiet which is perfect if you have small kids or if you just want to relax. The villa we stayed in has stairs so it might not be suitable for smaller children but I think you can rent a stair gate from reception.(?) Otherwise the apartments with no stairs are an option. Carvoeiro is only 10 minutes walk and there are lots of great restaurants around. Its a lovely place for a quiet relaxing holiday.
If you are looking for a beach where kids can swim safely you would need a car to travel to one of the many beaches nearby as the local beach isn't really suitable for kids to swim in. We liked it though as it was quiet and there is shade by the rocks in the morning. Read more

Thank so much for your feedback which is really appreciated. Just to let you know, the stair gate can only be fitted onto the villas with stone staircase (1 style has open and the other stone staircase) and, when available, is free of charge. The apartments are also really spacious - same size living/dining room, bedrooms, etc. and lovely balcony. Hope to see you back for a 3rd time!
Relaxing sun weeek
We stayed in a 3 bed villa with pool. Would go there again.
Located a short from the centre of Carvoeiro, these villas are set in a nice location with views over the sea. Just about everything is spot on; the reception, the villas, the facilities, parking, pools, the help and advise. Straightforward to get to from Faro airport (approx. 35 mins) allows very easy access to some remarkable beaches, towns and all life in the algarve has to offer. Overall high quality, trouble free accommodation, located perfectly that's great value for money.

Relaxing break in beautiful surroundings
We stayed in this well equipped 2 bed villa with friends for 2 weeks,. The development is well designed and maintained, and Hibiscus Gardens is well named as the accommodation is set in beautiful gardens as well as our villa having its own private garden. We were there without a car but enjoyed the scenic walk downhill into Caroeira village and the beach and could easily get a taxi back up the hill if necessary. The small supermarkets in town and the covered market covered our shopping requirement and there were a couple of mini-markets on nearby developments. There are many restaurants, some in town and others reached without on the level. We enjoyed trying the local food.
We had several trips out by coach and a river trip from Portimao to Silves so were able to see this part of the algarve without a car. Unusually for May, the weather was mixed until the last few days when we were able to enjoy the beautiful pool in its scenic setting.
Visitors should be aware that the villas do not have phones and there is no accessible telephone out of office hours when reception is closed, so it is essential to have your own mobile phone. We also felt that although reception was friendly and helpful they could have had more local information about the market, nearest shops and restaurants etc. in addition to the comprehensive guide in the villa.
We very much enjoyed our relaxing stay at Hibiscus. Read more

Hello - thank you for your review. I have passed on your comments about the local shops, restaurants and markets, etc. and will ensure that they have this information available for the guests. If you have found anywhere particularly interesting to visit, please do send me details and I will include in my Information Pack which gets sent to all potential guests. Many thanks again for taking the time to review.

A restful holiday in a salubrious setting.
From the very first contact with Chris Brogan, we felt we were clearly dealing with someone informative, businesslike and honest while being sensitive to our particular needs. As our negotiations continued we were pleased with the prompt exchange of information, her patience with our questions and requests, and her willingness to explore options. All promises of service were fulfilled. The only suggestion we would make is that some person be in charge on the weekends to ensure assistance should an emergency occur as there is no telephone service.
The driver picked us up on time and allowed us to shop for some essentials on the way to Hibiscus Gardens.
The villa pleased us in every aspect. It was very well equipped, spotlessly clean and most comfortable. I particularly enjoyed the high quality of the bed linens, the wonderful cupboards with marvellous fittings and the spacious garden off the living area. We had less-than-perfect weather so spent a fair amount of time indoors. A reading lamp would be a welcome addition.
Just along the road within the comples was a fabulous sparkling clean pool near a "club house" where all sorts of refreshments wee available on the honour system. There was an excellent selection of books and videos there as well as comfortable seating sitable for lunch or a game of bridge!
It was a 15 minute walk to the village down sloping road to a very steep hill or a more gentle downward route. Halfway was a selection of excellent restaurants rather hidden away and easily just ten minutes on flat terrain. Taxis are plentiful and not expensive. personnel in restaurants and shops were interesting and different.
We were so pleased with the feeling of security and safety not only in the complex but in the village. One did not have to be constantly on guard in relation to the peole in the town nor of course in the complex.
It was such a restful atmosphere that we would love to do it again and highly recommend Hibiscus Gardens.

Thanks so much for your lovely review. Normally Hibiscus is staffed 24/7 but unfortunately for the weekends you were there this was not the case due to some personal circumstances. But this is a valid point which is noted and passed to Reception. We would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back again. Thanks so much for your custom. Chris
Ideal Villa in the Sun
Stayed in one of the 2 bed villas in Hibiscus Gardens in late April. Firstly, when we were arranging our booking, Chris was very helpful with all our queries & requests. The villa was exactly as advertised - really modern, clean, well equipped, safe - a home away from home on holiday! The whole development is very well managed & everybody working there were so friendly.
It's about a 10 minute walk down to Carvoeiro - not the most exciting place in the world but if you're looking for a relaxing & quiet holiday, then Hibiscus Gardens ticks the boxes. You would definitely need a car for travelling around & going to restaurants at night. Ideal for kids & family groups. Would be nice to have BBQ facilities on site but that's about the only minor thing! Will definitely be back.
Great home from home in the sun
The villa and service from the owner Chris were second to none. The villas are well appointed and located for travelling around the region. Lovely pools on site. No food in the onsite bar out of high season though. Some great beaches within easy drive. The walk back from Carvoeiro is not for the fainthearted in the scorching heat (the kids would never have made it so we drove), but the town itself does have a small beach and plenty of bars / restaurants. Quieter Ferrogudo is also worth a trip for the seafood restaurants. Read more

Yes, agree it is quite a steep hill back! There is a much easier walk back though (sorry I didn't mention it before - I have only just discovered it myself) and very picturesque too. If you walk up the hill to the right facing Carvoeiro beach, this takes you a different route with fantastic views of the ocean and brings you back up to the local shops via Paraiso beach. Very slightly longer I think (but quicker because not so steep) and a very pretty walk. There's a nice little bar/restaurant on the way which overlooks the ocean. I have updated my Information Pack to include this information.
This is the only place to stay in Carvoeiro
The complex itself is very well designed over a large area of ground and beautifully landscaped. The villa was spacious with very good quality furnishings and fittings and contained everything one would have in their own kitchen and most importantly was spotlessly clean. If this standard is maintained into the future it will make this complex one of the best in the resort. Read more

Dear Caroline - We are very happy to welcome you back again in June 2010 and look forward to hearing you have had another lovely holiday. We hope you enjoy the spacious 3-bed villa this time where you can relax by your own pool. Thanks for booking with us again. Kind regards. Chris
Hibiscus Gardens Carvoeiro
We took a 2 bedroom villa in Hibiscus Gardens for 10 days in Sept/Oct. We were very happy with our stay and it exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect combination of, close enough to the town and beach to enjoy, but tucked away and private enough to really relax.
The resort was great with all the facilities you need and multiple great pool and lounging areas. The villa was very nice, clean and modern as expected from a relatively new complex. The staff and reception were an added bonus, as they could organise transfers, hirecars and generally anthing that was needed. They were very polite and helpful and left a great impression.
Everything went well and all in all, we couldn't speak highly enough of Hibiscus Gardens. The area, the weather and the people who helped us organise our holiday were all fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a holiday to relax in smart, peaceful location that is close enough to everything you need from a beach holiday.

Last minute but first class
We booked the week before we arrived. Two adults and two children aged 10 and 12. Great service during booking was matched by the quality of the facilities and the service from the friendly staff at Hibiscus Gardens.
We knew there were one or two finishing touches still needed in the villa as it had only just been finished...but we could,nt find them!
The style, decor and finish certainly deserves the five star rating (fluffy towelling dressing gowns went down great with the kids), pool towels, excellant high quality pool furniture and a fantastic clubhouse and gazebo made our 12 days memorable.
If we were being very very picky the maid service could be a little better but the fact that all of us want to return again soon says it all. We had a great holiday, met some really nice people and would recommend Hibiscus Gardens to others. Read more

Thanks so much for your review which is appreciated. We are aware that there were some problems with the maid service during your stay which were caused by some 'teething problems' with the schedules during a really busy period. I am happy to say that these have now been resolved and I'm so sorry you experienced this during your stay. Looking forward to seeing you back there! Chris
family holiday of 2 adults and 2 teenage boys
first class villa in luxury development
This villa is a real find .You wont be diapppointed as it has everything you require for your stay . The bedrooms are very modern & spacious and have ensuite facilities . The kitchen is very well equipped if you wish to cook, although you can seek out some lovely beach side fish resturants . The fittings in the villa are of a high quality and the patio and roof terrace furntiture are also great to relax on . The complex has lovely gardens and the 3 pools are kept very clean . The snack bar will cater for your lunchtime needs and a cool drink if the sun is hot. You pay for any drinks and snacks at the end of your stay , so you dont need cash by the pool . There is a lovely gazebo with bean bags and comfy chairs and candles that you can relax in during the evening. You will enjoy relaxing whilst here and if you have small children they will also enjoy the pool area , although the pool was never busy and you can have it to yourself sometimes.
There are a couple of small shops in walking distance to get your fresh morning bread and local cheese. The large "intermarche " supermarket is a short car journey . Local beach is good , but I would recommend the Benagil and Marinha beaches which are a short car ride too.
You will be met on arrival by english speaking staff who will show you around the complex and are on hand to advise on anything if needed.
I have had various experiences before of booking on the internet , but i can only stress to the online viewer that you will recieve first class communication and instructions from Chris Brogan who is the owner and i could not fault the booking service that i received. This is a new development and i am sure that will soon be fully booked up with repeat customers as you will definitely want to return .I will not post my own photos on the review as the ones that Flip Key have posted are true to life and this is what your accomodation is really like. Can't wait to go back !
Five star holiday in beautiful surroundings.
We were looking for 2 weeks of relaxation in the sun in high quality accommodation. Hibiscus Gardens provides first class villas and a picturesque setting around the main pool area. Everything new and tastefully done. Never too busy and the staff around the bar area and office were very helpful. To access the best beaches you definitely need a car. The local beaches are about 15-20 minutes away and whilst attractive, are not the best. Excellent beaches are only 10-15 mins drive. Excellent restaurants in abundance in Carvoeiro and mini supermarkets 10min walk. We loved the villa and the pool area and happily spent many days relaxing there. The area is beautiful and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Hibiscus Gardens. I hope it maintains the high standards it has set. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday...I'm sure we'll be back.
Can't wait to come back...!
We just spent a wonderful relaxing week this
lovely villa. The development has just been
finished and we were the first guests(!). We
were made so welcome on arrival. It was great
to have a Reception area - like being in a
Hotel but having your own space. It was easy
to get information on the surrounding area,
etc. The beach was only a few minutes walk
and we got a special deal on the golfing close
by also. Great restaurants within walking
distance and there will be a restaurant on
site very shortly - due to be opened by June I
The villa was lovely. Everything we needed
was there - even our own towelling dressing
gowns to relax in! Very comfortable. We
didn't need anything extra at all.
Will definitely be booking next year. Thank
you so much for making us so welcome.
