In a quieter part of the Costa del Sol in Southern Spain with 350 sunny days each year. Casares del Sol is in Casares Costa, 800m from the beach and Mediterranean Sea and a 10 minute drive into the Sierra Bermeja mountains to Casares white washed, hilltop village. Several golf courses close by to suit all abilities, including the neighbouring championship Finca Cortesin Golf Course.
Roads to Casares apartment are very good, by dual carriageway and/ or toll roads. Bus service from Malaga airport to Estepona, bus service stop 700m from apartment with good bus service. Taxis 700m from apartment. Airports Malaga 60min drive and Gibraltar 25 min drive.

A wonderful holiday
We stayed at this apartment in Casares in September, and really enjoyed the area. We were met on arrival and shown the apartment by a very nice couple. We used the pool everyday, it was very clean and inviting. A lovely break.

costa del sol
Apartment at Casares del Sol was just what we needed.
We stayed at Casares del Sol a week ago and had a great time. Saw Easter processions in Sabinillas, enjoyed teh pool and ate lots of good food. The apartment was fresh, clean, well equipped, just what we needed and close to restaurants and the beach.
Great apartment but out in the wilderness
This apartment was everything the fastidious owners promised it would be in their advertising. They were also very helpful before the trip in giving good advice and suggestions. On arrival, we were greeted by two people who let us in to the apartment and showed how everything worked. The owners supply comprehensive information about the area and I was able to also book a day out in Africa for the four of us which was superb and enhanced the holiday no end.
The apartment came with a discount and , on reflection, this could have been a little more generous. The Spanish economy has not avoided the ravages of the western world's recession so while we were in the middle of a large modern complex, the less than quarter occupancy and the number of unfinished buildings made me think we'd timewarped back into the 70s. At times it was eerily quiet and there was nowhere within walking distance (apart from the ubiquitous adjacent Brit-based golf club) to get a decent meal. We all felt sorry for the bored lifeguard who dutifully turned up each day for his quiet labours.
The quality of the apartment itself could not be faulted and provided more than we actiually needed or used. We unfortunately sufferred from some appalling neighbours who lacked any social skills but were caught in the typical situation of not wanting to spoil our holiday by complaining in any formal way.
If you want a truly quiet holiday and are happy to use a hire car every time you need to go anywhere or do anything this will be one for you. I suggest you negotiate on the price, though.

Not sure why this reviewer called the location 'out in the wilderness'. The apartment is in a quieter part of the Costa del Sol away from the overcrowded beaches and noisy clubs. But still only 800m from the sandy Casares beach and with several bars and restaurants a short walk or even shorter drive. And within 30 minute drive of Marbella, Puerto Banus and Gibraltar.
