Description from the manager
Characterised by plenty of sunny space, rooms have beamed ceilings and hand made terracotta tiled floors and traditional Tuscan furniture. There is a large living room with fireplace and TV. Kitchen equipment is good quality and includes a dishwasher. The large bathroom has a tub and separate shower stall. There is a double bedroom, and from the twin bedroom wide, glazed doors open onto a partly covered private terrace at the rear with lovely views down the valley.
Il Fagiano makes a lovely addition to the Agresto farm property. Converted from a detached barn, it has lovely views from the fenced, private lawn at the front, and the partl...Read more

A very pleasant spot to spend a few quiet weeks. The only serious drawback is the size of the fridge and the lack of food storage and working space in the kitchen area

Wonderful location, Great Villa.
On line description accurately described the property. Pleasant 25 minute walk to the village. Pleasant, non-intrusive landlord. -

'Il Fagiono' provided excellent holiday accomodation. It was spacious, comfortable and charming with its own lovely little garden and access to a shared pool. Its resident owners were delightful. Casole d'Elsa, the nearest village, was pleasant without winning any hearts. But the location gave us ready access by car to a good supermarket in Colle di Val d'Elsa and several fascinating towns like Volterra and Sienna.

Il Fagiano is a charming traditional property in a small collection of properties that share an excellent swimming pool and grounds on a hillside among the olive groves. The village of Casole is close by but up a formidable hill and is served by some good restraunts and small shops. During our stay there were outdoor music events.
The property is quaint and the two bedrooms are comfortable. It is reasonably appointed but would benefit from a more modern TV and access to English channels on the satellite system, also a microwave and kettle would have been useful. Gardens to the front and rear of the property provide your own private sitting areas and the hammock is a great success.
Despite having little English the owner Marco is very friendly.
An excellent property in a great location, one we highly recommend and would love to own. -

We thought the location of the villa was very good indeed and better than the last one we stayed at in Tuscany. The setting and facilities were great.
We thought that the directions we were provided to get to the villa were very bad and confusing. They seemed to muddle the directions arriving from two directions into one! We eventually found it and then realised there was a much quicker and easier route in from near Volterra.
We thought it would be very useful for English speaking guests to have a book in the villa noting nice places to eat in Casole d'Elsa as the lady there spoke no English and there was no guide info in the villa. We did find some very nice restaurants, grocery shops and ice cream places in the village but this was by trial on our part! -

In planning our trip, we knew we did not want to be overwhelmed with too many tourists. Our desire was to experience the food, wine, and the local people of Tuscany. Our choice of lodging was perfect. Following a few days in Rome, we headed out to our rental for 7 nights. The location was an excellent base station for our day trips. Each evening we would return to the quiet comfort and charm of our "home." The small towns of Casole D' Elsa and Colle Val Di Elsa provided us with local amenities (groceries, small restaurants, coffee bars, etc.) and a chance to truly experience life in the country. The property owner is very friendly; we would stongly recommend this property.

We had some difficulty finding Il Fagiano - mainly because I had lost the directions amongst the numerous other confirmatory e-mails sent to us about our booking. The apartment was part of a converted barn and was lovely, quite rustic but spacious and well equipped, with its own little garden, hammock and front patio. Agriturismo agresto was a beautiful property with a sloping vineyard stretching above the swimming pool, and views across open country to San Gimignano.
We were well placed to drive to numerous attractions including Siena, Florence, San Gimignano, Volterra, Montepulciano, Montalcino, etc.. Casole d'Elsa is pretty but quite small and sleepy, and is a 20 minute walk away. There is a reasonable supermarket only 5 mins drive away.
Overall a great place to stay in Tuscany.
