Casa Porzia is a gracious cottage of 80 square meters (about 860 square feet) for six people, with garden and access to a pool of 7 X 14 meters (23 X 46 feet).
It is situated within a 13-hectare (32-acre) farming estate, with woods and lake, in which there live many animals, both domestic and wild.
It is 25 km (approximately 15.5 miles) from Siena and 80 km (50 miles) from Florence . In the vicinity, you will find famous Tuscan towns including San Gimignano, Monteriggione, Castellina in Chianti and Volterra .
It has one double-bedded room, one bedroom with two single beds, a living room with divan bed for two people, a spaci...ous kitchen with dining area, and two bathrooms with shower.
The house and the garden
Upon your arrival, you will see a simple stone building, long and narrow, on one level, and covered with a roof of red Tuscan tiles. All around, there is a beautiful green lawn, and beyond the roof you will see the green of the trees. On the lawn next to the house, you will find a large olive tree which offers you its shade.
There is a great deal of space, in which your children will be able to play freely.
All around the house there is an area paved with terracotta, and each room has its own glass door which opens onto the garden. Behind the house, next to the kitchen door, you will find an area equipped with a stonework barbecue.
In the open air, in front of the living room, you will find a roomy table with wooden benches and seats.
Here, sitting in the open air, beyond the blooming hedge that surrounds the lawn in front of you, your gaze can stretch uninterrupted over the valley below, and across the gentle hills of Chianti that edge the horizon.
Inside the house, you will find Casa Porzia is furnished and cared for in the peaceful and welcoming style that is typical of the Tuscan countryside. The floors are of terracotta tile, and the ceilings have exposed wooden beams.
The kitchen is a spacious room, in which as well as the cooking area you will also find a dining table. The kitchen is equipped with four burners, two refrigerators and a dishwasher.
From the kitchen, you can enter the living room, in which there is a divan bed for two people and a satellite television.
The two bedrooms, one double-bedded and one with two single beds, also have direct access to the garden by way of glass doors.
The house has central heating, air conditioning, satellite television, private parking and a shared swimming pool.
The swimming pool
A gracious pathway lined with flowering hedges will lead you from the house to the pool, which is located in the center of a green lawn.
Also from the pool, you will see before your eyes a vast panorama of Val D'Elsa and of the gentle hills of the Chianti Senese.
The pool is spacious, 7 X 14 meters (about 23 X 46 feet), and around it you will find umbrellas and sun-lounging chairs. It is open from June 1st to September 30th.
The pool is shared with the guests of the other two small apartments.
The location
At Casa Porzia you will be within a farming estate of 13 hectares (about 32 acres), which produces Chianti wine. A large part of the terrain is covered with an oak forest. The grounds are completely fenced.
You can take walks along the small paths that lead through the woods, where you will often encounter domestic animals such as turkeys and geese, as well as wild animals such as deer, hares and rabbits.
On the farm, you can also see (behind fences) horses, goats and chickens.
An avenue of well-established cypress trees will lead you towards a small lake inhabited by waterfowl and by many goldfish.
This will be an exhilarating experience for your children!
The owners live on site. They will welcome you with enthusiasm, and will be available, yet completely discreet, to attend to your every need.

Staying at Casa Porzia you will be in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, 5 km (about 3 miles) from Casole D’Elsa, and 8 km (about 5 miles) from Colle Val D'Elsa, a small city famous for producing crystal objects.
This land is filled with truly ancient history, as evident from the archeological discoveries in the area, which extend back to the Neolithic, Bronze and Iron ages, and to the Greek and Roman civilizations.
Colle Val D’Elsa is the nearest place where you will find shops, restaurants, supermarkets, banks, tennis courts and golf courses, and bike rental facilities.
You will be within reach of the great “art cities”: Siena, Florence, Pisa ; and nearby other famous tourist attractions such as San Gimignano , the city of 13 towers, Monteriggione, the medieval town encircled by ancient walls, and Volterra, where you will find Etruscan tombs.
Don’t miss the opportunity to travel the “via Chiantigiana,” which is the “wine road” that cuts through the territory where Chianti wines are produced.
Along this road, you will see rows of grapevines to the right and left of you, and hills topped with castles and villages, the evidence of two millennia of history.
You can visit wineries, discover wonderful small restaurants, and above all experience the friendliness of the local residents, which is truly part of the fascination that Tuscany holds for the rest of the world.
If you enjoy hiking, you can trek through the Senesi hills, or part of the via Franchigena that crosses the Montagnola Senese, a protected hillside covered with chestnut trees, where nature is uncontaminated.
