Description
The seaside house of Villa le Dune is divided into just four apartments each with their own patio or terrace and private parking area. Le Dune C situated on the ground floor of the house, to enter the Villa you may take the ramp which from the grounds leads down to the patio area which opens directly into the living room. The apartment itself is simply furnished as are most beach houses in the area and features pine furniture. The living room consists of a sitting area with settee (which converts into 2 single beds on request), television and kitchen/dining area with table and chairs, there is a double bedroom and a shower room. Le Dune C can be intercommunicating with apartment Le Dune B next door via a connecting door in the sitting area. The living room opens directly out onto the apartments patio area which is furnished with table and chairs shaded by a gazebo, barbeque, 2 deckchairs and a handy outside shower with both hot and cold water. The patio is a lovely spot for relaxing or eating al fresco with the scent of the pine trees and the sounds of crickets chirping all around. A pleasant walk through the lanes of the pinewoods leads to a lovely stretch of beach just 300m away and there are beach facilities close by where sunbeds and umbrellas are available for hire. The little town of Marina di Castagneto is accessible on foot and has good selection of restaurants, bars and shops running the length of the resort and along on the seafront. The owners put at guests disposal a private area of sand dunes to the north of the resort where there is a fenced botanical area with Mediterranean dune plants and flowers. Although it's tempting to spend lazy days just sunbathing on the beach and swimming in the azure Mediterranean sea, there is plenty more to see and do in the area. Within easy driving distance there are many pretty local hill towns to visit, such as Castagneto Carducci, Sassetta, and Bolgheri to name but a few, as well as nature parks and vineyards. The beautiful bay of Baratti overlooked by the interesting historical town of Populonia is well worth a visit and further inland San Gimignano, Volterra and Siena are wonderful days out. Even the Island of Elba is easily accessible via the ferry port just half an hours' drive away and for the little ones close by is the 'Cavallino Matto' theme park and the 'Acqua village' water park with swimming pools and slides is at Cecina just 15 minutes drive away.
