Uliveto House consists of four bedrooms that can be booked for your holidays in Sicily.

A natural setting in a tranquil paradise, the perfect place to relax. Within 5 minutes by car, you can easily get to the historical town of Castellammare del Golfo, the fisherman village of Scopello or the Nature Reserve of the "Zingaro".

Outside

Beautiful extensive garden with two separate large patios where you can enjoy alfresco breakfast.

The patio area is complete with table, chairs and also sun loungers.

The gardens are surrounded by olive groves, fruit trees, and by a special sicilian lemon tree.

The garden to the... north is surrounded by the mountains, to the south by the coast.

Coast/Beach

The nearest beach, 'Guidaloca', is only three minutes far by car; it is a peebles beach equipped with facilities and lidos and it is a place suitable for snorkelling along the coast. The most famous Scopello's beach, just 5 minutes by car, is the 'tonnara' (a tuna fishery), with its natural coves and the 'Faraglioni' (rocks). The Nature Reserve of the 'Zingaro', which is only 8 minutes far by car, is well known for its five miles of coastline and its steep cliffs plunging sheer into the sea from heights of up to three thousands feet. Castellammare del Golfo's main beach, 'Spiaggia Playa', is a sandy beach and is only 10 minutes far from Fraginesi by car.

Travel

Trapani's airport, 'Vincenzo Florio' in Birgi, is far 40 mins from Fraginesi by car; Ryanair offers flights direct from Dublin, London, Paris, Barcelona, Madrid, Kracow, Stockolm, Oslo, Dusseldorf and a lots of italian destinations. Palermo's airport, 'Falcone and Borsellino', is far 30 mins from Fraginesi by car.

Distances

The nearest village is Scopello which is far 8 mins. by car from Fraginesi. There you will find several amenities such as traditional Sicilian restaurants, pizzerias, pubs and also ceramics shops. Castellammare del Golfo, 5 mins by car, is an historical town with many local restaurants surrounding the romantic little harbour and its Arabic castle.

Segesta is far 20 mins. by car from Fraginesi; it is very famous for the Doric Temple and the Greek theatre. During summer evenings, Greek and Latin plays (tragedies) are performed in the Greek theatre. Erice is a medieval town placed on top of the homonimous mount and it is 30 mins far by car from Fraginesi.

In Castellammare del Golfo, you will find many shops like supermarkets, chemists, banks, post offices, local art shops and also fish shops. Departing from the harbour, there is a boat trip that takes along the coast from Castellammare to San Vito Lo Capo, which is famous for its "caribbean style" beach. The Nature reserve of 'Zingaro' enchants the walker with its stark beauty and the intensity of its colors in every season. In the village of Scopello, you can find a scuba diving center ('Cetaria diving center') and you can do also the first diving experience with an instructor, equipment included. Segesta is also famous for its sulphurous and curative baths and for a natural river where you can bathe ('Terme Segestane' e 'fiume di acqua calda').

Selinunte, which is 45 mins far from Fraginesi by car, is a very important Greek site with temples and an acropolis. In the medieval town of Erice, you will find the temple of the Goddess of love (Venus), which is famous for its shrine atop the mountain to which sailors turned.Read more

Additional Location Information

Castellammare del Golfo is a nice little Sicilian coastal town on the "Golfo di Castellammare", the famous gulf in the north western part of Sicily. The harbour, dominated by the "castello" (castle), is Castellammare's biggest attraction. Early in the morning you will see fishermen going out to sea in their typical blue and white fishing boats, later returning with freshly caught fish for the local markets and restaurants.
In the summer period Castellammare's harbour comes to life at night and the area becomes a pedestrian zone, where you can visit several bars, pubs and restaurant. Sitting on a terrace overlooking the harbour, you can enjoy a cocktail, Sicilian wine, handmade ice-cream or a refreshing Sicilian "granita".

The "corso" (corso Garibaldi, the main road of the town) is also a nice area for shopping and from the town square you can arrive to the smallest of the two sandy beaches ("Petrolo"). The other, much larger, beach is located just outside Castellammare del Golfo ("spiaggia Plaja"). In the summer period you will find some lidos, where you can rent deckchairs and a beach umbrella, however, the marjority of Castellammare's sandy beach has a free access.

Castellammare del Golfo is also an excellent base for your holidays in Sicily. You can easily reach (10-15 minutes by car) the famous nature reserve "Lo Zingaro", and the small town of Scopello, with its well known tuna fishery ("La Tonnara"). Other locations well worth a visit are the medieval town of Erice, the temple and amphitheatre of Segesta, the archeological park in Selinunte, the salt planes ("saline") in Mothia near Marsala, the cathedral of Monreale, downtown Palermo and many more!

  The welcome at the guest house of Patricia was very good from the beginning, and it was not the first we were there.
  We returned because we had already had a fabulous time there.
  The room was, as the last time, clean and confortable. The staff more than friendly. We received very useful advices on how to spend our vacation days. The nice breakfast, set among the olive groves and lemon trees, is really unforgettable.
  We are waiting to come back next year!

  My wife and I have visited many countries and stayed in many B&Bs; but this is by far one of the best! My wife has celiac disease and Patrizia many special food for her from gluten free flour - even her own cake! It was very relaxing sitting on her patio amist the olive trees was very relaxing. Excellent location and close to the nature preserve. We missed we would have stayed more than 5 days! Denna and Patrizia are wonderful cooks! We found a new friend!

  The food they made for us was the best in all Sicily: Dina is the best cook (if you want you can have sicilian cooking course too!!) The rooms were very good and clean!! There is a big and safe garden (perfect for children).No far from the sea and very quite.

  Had the most wonderful holiday. The family are so kind and they made us feel part of their family they were so welcoming and helpful. Amazing to sit outside eating breakfast in a beautiful garden surrounded by lemon and fig trees. Both my children had a brilliant time and enjoyed the nearby beach where the water is sparkling clear. We had such a great time that we are planning to go back later this year.

  Beautiful home-from-home place

  We loved this place mainly because it was in a lovely location, only 10 mins from the beach but set in a really quiet country setting. The owners treated us like family (the good kind, who leave you alone but are helpful, kind and always to hand if you need them). The food they made for us was the best we tasted in Sicily (and we;ve been going to Sicily for many years!)... the rooms were really nicely furnished and the gardens were amazing... you could literally walk out into them and pick your own lemons, figs etc - just heaven.
  
  Our daughter (3 years old) loved the place... she ran around in the garden; and it is very safe! The lady who runs the place loves children and babysat for us a couple of times so it was a treat to be able to leave our our duaghter with someone we could trust while we went out and enjoyed ourselves. However, on many evenings, the joy of sitting on the porch and in the beautiful gardens and watching the sun go down was just as nice.
  
  While we travel around a lot and don't like to always visit the same places again and again, this is somewhere we will definitely be going back to stay in.
