(Minimum of one week rental required) Villa Scopello is a beautiful villa with private swimming pool set on the northwest coast of Sicily, not far from Castellammare del Golfo. Situated along the road that leads from the Guidaloca bay to the ancient village of Scopello, the dwelling is in an area of great natural beauty. In the vicinity one can admire the Trapani salt pans, the beach of San Vito Lo Capo and the nearby Zingaro nature reserve - a designated area of outstanding natural beauty that amazes with its unspoiled white coves, crystal clear waters, rock stacks and cliffs. Surrounded by a well-tended garden with lawn, palm trees and Medi...terranean plants, the villa offers a beautiful swimming pool (open April 1 - October 31) and large terraces with sea view equipped for outdoor living. Its cozy, bright, well proportioned interiors are tastefully furnished with all modern conveniences. An ideal dwelling for summer holidaymakers, Villa Scopello is also perfectly located for exploring the charming surrounding area. Boat rides along the coast and a stroll through the Zingaro nature reserve are highly recommended.

There is a grocery nearby (300 meters), and a restaurant (500 meters). Further services and shops are available nine km in Castellammare. Within 800 meters is an uncrowded rocky beach, and at two km, you will find a nice, sandy beach.

Available upon request at additional cost: Shopping service, extra maid service Villa Sopello is comprised of about 100 sq. meters of living space all on one floor. The airy and light-infused open living plan includes a living/dining area with TV and comfortable furniture, a table seating four to six, a well-equipped kitchen corner (fridge/freezer, gas stove, microwave oven, dishwasher, toaster, all utensils), two double bedrooms each with queen bed, and a single bedroom with one twin bed. All three bedrooms share a large bathroom with washbasin, shower and WC and. Also, each room is provided with mosquito netting.

The outside area offers a large, tiled terrace with chairs and table, and barbeque for dining al fresco. A large palm tree stands guard over the inviting pool. An outdoor shower and sun beds are also provided. Castellammare del Golfo is an important rural and commercial centre situated on the north-western coast of Sicily, exactly 70 Km away on the western side of Palermo. Castellamare was the seat of the ancient Segesta's emporium and the chief landing place to Erice and Segesta. In 827 A.D. - under the rule of the Arabs who built up their fortress there - Castellammare became an invincible stronghold. In the following centuries the present "castello a mare" was enlarged and fortified by the Normans. A splendid coast - rich in little creeks with

low soundings together with rough rocks and needle-shaped marine crags lapped by crystalline waters - is characteristic of the natural environment of the Gulf of Castellammare.   This was our first experience of renting a villa and we will definitely do it again.
  The villa is better than the website pictures show, as there has been considerable planting in the grounds and at the rear of the villa, an outside cooking area has been built with BBQ, gas range, pizza oven, cafe style tables and a Fuss ball table. One thing which I image happens a lot, is that the pool photos of the property do make the pool look an awful lot larger than it is.
  The villa sits on its own and therefore is not overlooked by any other villas. There is a supermarket 5 mins walk away, which has a butchers, bakery, cheese shop inside with a fruit and veg shop at the rear, the local foods on offer inside where excelelent and I am now having to diet. I did have to use our laptop and 'google translate' to write down sentences when i needed to ask for more complicated items, as my italian isn't very good and the shop keepers english is on par with that. But maybe everyone else won't be shopping for yeast and flour to make the pizza dough which we cooked in the oven.
  The villa is surrounded by brick walls and 2 lockable security gates. The main road to Scopello is right in front of the villa and there are peak hours where lots of cars pass, anything as high as a motor home alllows the driver to see over the walls, but this and the traffic noise never bothered us. During the hours that businesses closed down (1-4) hardly any traffic came past which was our main time for sitting around the pool.
  Scopello was a 10 min walk up the hill and has many restaurants.
  The owner is very friendly, but again we did have trouble communicating, so look up the sentence for 'we have arrived at your villa / airport'. and do take 2 mobiles, mine which always works abroad decided not to conect to the local provider, luckily husband who never brings his phone happened to have accidentlially brought it along and it worked.
