Description from the owner

In the Chianti hills between Florence and Siena, and very close to Panzano, Tuscany, Italy: in a sunny clearing, next to our own home, a converted farmhouse, the Fienile is an old barn which we have carefully restored and decorated.

This is the cottage we use for visiting friends and which we are happy to rent out when it is free. So it is a genuine taste of Tuscan living, not just a holiday home rented out all year round.

The cottage has its own outside area, surrounded by 30 hectares of wood with plenty of open, sunny spaces.

On the map we are right next to the 'a' in Chianti - so really at the heart of this delightful r...Read more

      Peaceful and Beautiful

Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in May 2013

This was the perfect place for a 10 day stay in Chianti. Le Ripe was just what we wanted. Le Fienile had everything that we needed. The cottage was spacious and comfortable. The views were amazing. A yellow climbing rose and a clematis montana, in full bloom, were growing on the outside of the cottage. The herb garden was beside the door. How wonderful it was to sit on the patio having breakfast or enjoying a glass of Chianti at the end of the afternoon. The location is peaceful and quiet but not far from Panzano. At the bottom of the hill is Le Panzanelle, a Tuscan restaurant , that we really enjoyed. Le Ripe is an excellent base for exploring the area' s beauty, food and wine. Leitha and Fabio, the owners, are lovely and helpful. We hope to return next spring.

      Tranquility

Left on 04/14/2013 for a stay in April 2013

A lovely peaceful spot removed enough from civilisation to have satisfied our desire for tranquility, but close enough to all the main attractions of Chianti to enable us to explore when we wanted to. It is perfectly private with beautiful views, a sunny outdoor table for alfresco meals and wild deer that visit at dusk and dawn to graze.

The cottage itself is comfortable and more spacious than it appears in the photos, and fairly well equipped including a perfectly satisfactory little kitchen. The bed, however, is very short and taller guests might need to explore the downstairs sofa bed. The wi-fi works well, but lack of good bedside lighting made reading in bed difficult, which was a shame as we enjoyed the lack of TV. If you have an Italian mobile phone provider, please note that although TIM works in the cottage, wind does not. A clothes-dryer might be a useful addition to the laundry as when we stayed it was still cool and a little rainy, so it was difficult to get things like towels dry. The access road was also very rough although we managed it in a 'normal' car.

The comments above are meant in the most constructive way as overall we had a lovely stay and believe this is excellent value for money (we'd even be prepared to pay a bit more with a few additional ameneties mentioned above). Chianti is a wonderful area - not to be missed!

Following on this review we have had a question about Wind and Tim: for those who do not know about Italy's mobile phone systems: Wind and Tim are two sim card providers. Our wireless connection works fine...as the review indeed points out...
Looking forward to seeing guests, Leitha.

      Majestic Heart of Chianti Classico

Left on 09/29/2012 for a stay in September 2012

Where do I start?...The minute we drove up the narrow secluded road to the property, I knew we had made the right decision. It was perfect in every way. Having spent many summers staying in cabins in the Canadian Rockies as a kid, this was exactly what I had hoped it would be. Rustic, but modern. Secluded, but close to everything I had travelled to see. The property is endless for exploring and hiking, the kitchen was wonderful for cooking (dishwasher was the best part!), and there was a fireplace that added that romantic touch. The view from both of the private patios was sureal. I spent many hours a day just sitting outside and daydreaming. The owners were very helpful, warm and welcoming to both of us. If you are looking for a true taste of Tuscanny just a little bit off the beatten track, this is the place to go. I can't wait to go back. Please remember that there is no WIFI or TV :) You need to break that addiction before you arrive...

      Wonderful place to stay

Left on 08/03/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Our 10 day stay in the cottage at Le Ripe was wonderful!! The accommodations were beautiful, comfortable, private, peaceful, and relaxing. The property is lovingly tended by Leitha and contains beautiful flowers, fruit trees, fresh herbs that can be used in cooking, and a large garden from which we enjoyed fresh lettuce. Every evening we were able to sit out on our private terrace, watching fireflies and the moon rise over the hillsides. The restaurant at the bottom of the hill is fantastic!
The location is perfect for visiting the entire Chianti region and all of Tuscany. Leitha and Fabio were extremely friendly and helpful; they offered wonderful suggestions on places to visit - all emails and inquiries (and there were many of them) were promptly answered. She even booked "the best table in the house" at a top notch restaurant in Lamole for my birthday celebration. The sunset was spectacular!
When we return to Italy, this will be our first choice to stay again - a highlight of our month long trip of a lifetime!! It was the perfect place to unwind each evening after our exploits.
Grazie, Leitha and Fabio!!! We will treasure our memories of your kindness and generosity until we meet again!!

      Magical Tuscany

Left on 07/10/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We stayed in this cute cottage for a week on our holiday through Italy. The cottage is located in the beautiful Chianti country side close to several villages, our favorite was Castellina about 15 min drive away.
The cottage is well laid out with a comfortable living space and great shower, upstairs on a mezzanine floor is the bedroom. There is a magical view sitting just outside the main living area on a little patio area, perfect for drinking our morning coffee. We were lucky enough to spot fireflies at night the week we were there.
If you are looking for a place to stay in the country this certainly has an element of magic, the hosts are great, the location is excellent.
Our only criticism would be the bed, we didn't find it comfortable, beds in Europe aren't quite like what we have back home in New Zealand.

A peaceful oasis in the hearth of Tuscana and Chianti

Left on 06/22/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Just ask your GPS: "Take us to a gem in Chianti" - it should take you here. Ours had no problem finding this place, but for the relatively new owners it must have been a different story. Indeed, how do you find a place that exists only in your dreams???
We absolutely loved everything about this rental. Leitha and Fabio were attentive and friendly. Birds and wildlife are aplenty. Very close to Panzano and its famous butcher - his 'tartar' burgers cooked on the grill are a pure delight when you eat at its terrace! Also ask how to go to their cimetary and ride the great dirt road eastbound to Radda or Volpaia; the scenery is great and you drive through goat and wild boar farming. (Thank you Leitha for this tip).
Great thanks to Leitha and Fabio for offering to share Le Ripe with travellers like us!

A gem in the heart of Chianti

Left on 06/01/2012 for a stay in May 2012

Le Ripe is the perfect place to relax due to the secluded setting of the classy refurbished property. At the same time all Tuscan cultural highlights, restaurants and shopping areas are within easy reach while the nature lovers will find plenty of animals and plants on and around the wonderful designed gardens.
The house itself is excellent equipped: a kitchen where you will neither miss the baking oven nor the dish washer, a bathroom with
a rain shower and for the cold evenings an open fireplace in the living room.
Your hosts, Leitha and Fabio, are very friendly and decent, however, are always ready to give you advise if you need it. Finally the extraordinary value for money needs to be mentioned, especially considering the usual Tuscany rates.
We enjoyed Le Ripe already for the second time and would like to return again in the future.

Perfect retreat in the heart of Chianti

Left on 01/03/2012 for a stay in October 2010

My husband and I spent a week of our honeymoon at Le Ripe and will never forget the beautiful views or the kind hosts. Leitha and her husband welcomed us on a dark and stormy night (the weather made finding the place a little difficult) with a stocked kitchen and bottle of prosecco. They provided guides to the region, restaurant recommendations, and a fascinating tour of their property, including the most advanced eco-friendly heating system I've seen. We spent the following (sunnier) days wandering the Chianti countryside and making easy trips to Florence and Sienna. In the mornings we had our tea and yogurt looking into the valley. At night we built fires that warmed the whole little house and cooked some of the best food we had on the trip. The laundry facilities were very helpful, and the shower was amazing. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We hope to go back some day!

Left on 10/01/2011 for a stay in July 2011

The week we spent in the farmhouse cottage at Le Ripe was the highlight of our 6 weeks in France and Italy. From the moment we were warmly welcomed by Leitha until we reluctantly headed off on our travels, we loved every minute of our stay: excellent service; fantastic location near picturesque villages; beautifully appointed farmhouse kitchen where cooking with the complimentary local produce and fresh herbs from the garden made cooking a joy; spotting the wildlife in the garden; dining al fresco enjoying the spectacular views. We can’t recommend le Ripe highly enough and hope to return one day.

      Perfect Italian Getaway

Left on 08/29/2011 for a stay in August 2011

My wife and I spent almost two weeks staying at Le Ripe and our time there could not have been more relaxing.

We had a rental vehicle (definitely recommended) and spent our days exploring the quaint villages of Chianti with a few longer trips further afield (Siena, Cinque Terra etc) which Le Ripe is in a great position to enable you to do.

Leitha was away when we stayed, but her son alex was the perfect host, always happy to answer our questions and kind enough to share the beautiful produce from the extensive vege garden, but at the same time not at all intrusive on our stay.

      A few recommendations:

As you will read in other reviews, definitely try the restaurant at the bottom of the driveway, Ostaria Le Panzarelle. We ate there three times and it was our favourite spot. Lunch in the courtyard is just perfect.

10 minutes down the road is the village of Radda - very picturesque and good wi-fi at the cafe on the left as you drive up to the village, perfect to sit down with a gelatto.

There is a lake created by a dam below Radda, you can get to it by taking the turn off to Volpaia on the left just before you drive up the hill to Radda. It is great for a refreshing swim in the middle of summer.

There are some lovely walks for all abilities in the area, we went on a nice circuitous one from Lamole through a national park and returned to Lamole for yet another beautiful Italian lunch to finish up.

If you're a meat lover do go to one of the restaurants owned by the famous butcher in Panzano, you won't regret it, but you may need to loosen your belt afterwards.

All in all we could not have found a better spot for the holiday we wanted. If we ever find ourselves back in Tuscany we'll be looking up Le Ripe and heading back for more of the same.

Amazing Villa in an amazing location!

Left on 08/26/2011 for a stay in July 2011

I stayed at Le Ripe with my Mother, sister and her partner in the hottest part of July. We flew into Pisa and hired a car (you'll need a car to get to Chianti) and found the villa with ease thanks to the owners directions.

On arrival we were greated by Leitha and family and immediately felt totally welcome. The villa we hired is off to the side of the main house and feels like a completely private and separate residence. It is built in traditional style but to modern spec - you feel like you're staying in a traditional Tuscan villa but with all the mod cons you could need.

The villages in and around Le Ripe are absolutely true Tuscany at it's finest. Little villages basking in sun in the countryside. The local restaurant at the end of the driveway is absolutely fantastic both in value and quality - family owned and run all of their food is locally sourced and handmade by the chefs.

We used La Ripe as a base to visit Cinque Terra, Florence, Bologna, Sienna and many of the villages in between so you are close to all of the greater Tuscany region easily by car.

      Could not recommend more highly!!

      True Tuscany

Left on 07/09/2011 for a stay in July 2011

      Location:
Le Rpe is perfectly located between Siena and Florence and close to a cool little towns (Panzano 5 min & Greve - 10 min & Rada 10 Mins). Its close to great wineries and hill towns and best of all is the Osteria just down the driveway. We ate there allot.

      Accommodation:
Le Ripe is a great place in a beautiful rural Tuscan setting. The property is on the edge of a hill with amazing views of valleys and the little church and town of Luccarelli. These fabulous views aren't really reflected in the photos on the web so this was a great surprise when we got there. Another great surprise were the trails right on the property, we had fun exploring these. The place itself was perfect. Lots of room and tons of charm. The interior is very well done, like something from a tourist magazine on Tuscany. We were very impressed.

      Our experience:
We had our reservations renting directly from owner. This honestly couldn't have been a better experience. Prior to arrival, Leitha was always answering my emails and was timely in her responses. When we arrived she greeted us with a food basket that we made 2 meals out of. She also gave us allot of tips on what to see and do in the area. Leitha is fantastic.

      Tips:
      - Eat at the Osteria at the end of the driveway. Ravioli, Stewed Beef, Wild Boar, Spaghetti are all terrific. Book ahead though it is surprisingly busy given its location.
      - If you can afford the time plan 2 days in Florence... so much to see. Pitti Palace/Bobboli Gardens, Ufizi (get tickets online to avoid long waits), Accademia (Mainly for David book ahead as well) are all great.
      - Don't miss Siena
      - Go to some of the smaller hill towns
      - Relax and explore around Le Ripe.

If you are thinking of going to Tuscany. Stay here, you wont be disappointed.

We searched long and hard for the perfect Tuscan cottage for our honeymoon, and couldn't have chosen better than this. Leitha and Fabio are wonderful hosts, and have created a beautiful home. As lovely a place as I can imagine

Left on 06/12/2011 for a stay in May 2011

The cottage is an ideal blend of rustic and modern, with all facilities one could want. Sitting on the deck, looking across the valley to Lucarelli, with a glass of Chianti and watching the colour of the sky change as the sun sets - it is just fabulous. Panzano is conventiently close for shopping, and the osteria at the end of the road (Le Panzanelle) is excellent. This idyllic little bit of the world is clearly a labour of love for Leitha and Fabio, and they have done a brilliant job with the gardens (e.g., fresh herbs at the door). Time flies when you're there. The warm weather in May, with the roses in bloom, was unbeatable, but I can imagine that other seasons would also have their charms. In short, I would rate this little stone house on a hill in Chianti as about as sublime a place as I have been. We were very happy there.

Left on 06/01/2011 for a stay in May 2011

We had the wonderful experience of celebrating a milestone birthday at Le Ripe in Tuscany. The property is beautiful, filled with flowers and wildlife. Our cottage was dressed in climbing roses, surrounded by herb gardens, nestled under cumquats, plums and mulberries. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed as well as delightful touches - enamel cups, local stoneware and furniture. A great selection of osterias, trattorias and fattorias minutes from Le Ripe provide endless wonderful dining choices. Our hosts Leitha and Fabio struck the perfect balance of attentive, personal, welcoming and yet incredibly respectful of our privacy. The location, surrounded by beautiful villages, with easy and quick access to Florence to the north and Sienna to the south, was perfect - Le Ripe was a wonderful haven to which it was a pleasure to return at the end of a day's explorations.

Great location & Fabulous hosts !

Left on 05/12/2011 for a stay in April 2011

We spent 6 days at Le Ripe and truly enjoyed every single one of them. Our accommodation 'the Fienile' cottage was beyond our expectations: very spacious, cosy, comfortable and delightfully decorated. The property transpires all the loving care the owner invests into it. The mezzanine arrangements with the twin beds were perfect for the teens, while their mom and dad were snoozing downstairs by the fireplace, on the comfy sofa bed. Plenty of room also in the bathroom, with a large open space for showering. Everything we needed to cook any kind of family meals was available in the well equipped kitchen. The place was also filled with those little extras that could become handy (walking sticks, umbrellas, books, etc.)
Since we were staying over Easter, our hosts extended their kindness to offer us the traditional Panettone along with a greeting basket fully loaded with local products. We were even delightfully surprised by the egg hunt they prepared for us on Easter morning! All this attention to details wonderfully reflects the kind of hosts Leitha and Fabio are.
We managed to find the place with a good detailed map. From this central location, we went on day trips to visit Florence, Sienna, Bagni San Filippo, and even left early for a wonderful expedition to Cinque Terre (about a 3 hrs drive). We also thoroughly explored the surrounding towns and villages; they are all as charming as they sound ! At the end of the day, it always felt great to come back 'home' at Le Ripe.
As a lot of other people already stated, we are looking forward to visiting again...

      The Tuscan Life!

Left on 05/04/2011 for a stay in April 2011

Our week long stay at Le Ripe in april was delightful!

Leitha and Fabio could not have been better hosts. They were available when we needed them and offered us advice when we asked. They greeted us with a delightful basket of local goodies. We enjoyed them all. On Easter Sunday we found a trail of chocolate Easter eggs outside our door. Our children could not have been more excited and surprised!
Loggia, the cozy apartment we stayed in, offered all the comforts of home. The adorable kitchen was stocked perfectly for a family to prepare meals. We ate breakfast and prepared dinner every evening. Never were we at a loss for a utensil or pan.
The bedrooms and family room were beautifully furnished and comfortable. We enjoyed the fireplace every evening. It was nice to be "unplugged". With no t.v. or internet we spent our evenings reading and playing games. What a great way to recharge one's batteries!
Waking to the Tuscan sun and sounds of the surrounding country side (roosters, birds, cows and sheep) was a lovely way to begin each day.
Le Ripe is situated within an hour of many small villages, towns and larger cities. Each day we ventured off to discover a different town. I was happy that we had rented a car and purchased a GPS. There is a bus stop at the bottom of the lane but it was nice to not have to worry about any schedule except our own.
The grounds of Le Ripe are beautifully maintained. There are several "walks" or small hikes around the property. Our favorites were the walk to the partisan's cave and the hike down to the river.
We are missing the peace and tranquility of Le Ripe and look forward to visiting again.

The hosts are very hospitable and helpful. We actually took wrong road by mistake and end up in the middle of nowhere in the night. Our host waited for us for a long time in the near village Lucarelli in order make teh arrival easier for us.
Unlike many other rental agencies we did not have to pay in adavnce. We just settled a price and pay the whole amount after arrival. It is very convenient and You feel that You are trusted.
We would absolutely recommend Le Ripe. It is a perfect holiday destination.

Couldn't have wished for any thing better! Lovely surroundings. Every morning breakfast outside with freshly picked strawberries right in front of our door. We arrived late at night but were warmly welcomed by Leitha and her husband (most interesting people). During our entire stay we could always count on them for info. Also available two brand new bikes we gladly used!

Amazing place to stay in Tuscany

Left on 06/19/2010 for a stay in June 2010

First, we decided on Le Ripe because of their flexibility. Unlike most vacation rentals which stipulate that you have to rent for at least a week starting and ending on a saturday, there's no such requirement for Le Ripe.

We stayed 7 nights in Le Ripe. The owners, Leitha and Fabio were wonderful hosts who made it a point to welcome their guests personally, along with a wonderful welcome basket filled with local goodies.

We stayed in The Stalle, which was more than spacious for 3 and came fully equipped (with even a coffee moka pot!!) The decor was simple and quaint yet warm and inviting, very homely. Everything you would imagine a Tuscan farmhouse but with modern furnishings.

Outside The Stalle, there was a garden with a table, chairs and amazing views of rolling hills and vineyards which made the perfect place to have breakfast every morning.

Le Ripe is centrally situated in Tuscany's Chianti region such that you are within 20 minutes drive of most of Chianti's beautiful small towns and 1 hour's drive to Florence/Siena. 1.5 hours to Montalcino/Montepulciano, and 2 hours to Pisa/Lucca.

Finally with all the finishing touches of a true blue Tuscany farmhouse - fireflies, wild deers, chirping birds, crowing roosters in the morning and absolute silence at night etc... Le Ripe is an amazing place to stay and we are looking forward to the day that we'll go back and visit Leitha and Fabio and their wonderful home.

A great place in the hills.

Left on 06/11/2010 for a stay in January 2010

This was one of the highlights of our recent trip to Italy. High up in the Tuscan Hills this converted barn has all the comforts of home but is close enough but just far enough to feel worlds away from the busyness of Florence and Sienna. We stayed in the winter and enjoyed the big open fire, fetching wood in the morning and waking up to magical tree and valley views. It's close to the village with it's trattoria (part of the Slow Food movement and you should go!), so if you don't feel like cooking you can enjoy the walk down the hill (not so much the wall up the hill). The kitchen's well equipped, the bathroom is big (sorry no bath!) and the bed is comfortable.

The photos make Le Ripe appear smaller than it really it seems. Big thanks to Leitha, husband and family for making us feel so welcome. We couldn't recommend Le Ripe more.

Things you should do: If you're a meat eater we highly recommend booking a night dining at Dario Cecchini's antica Macelleria Cecchini, his world famous butchery in Panazano. This is an absolute must! And be warned you won't need to have eaten lunch before going for dinner. It's a huge meal. And you probably won't need breakfast the next day either. If you feel like doing some designer clothes shopping, a trip to the Mall near Florence is well worth it. This place makes Century 21 feel like a barn. Also a trip to the ceramics maker in the main street in Chianti is worth it. Its exquisite "create a village" ceramics are exported to Japan and would be an amazing memento of your trip.

Perfect hosts, perfect apartment, perfect window on Tuscany

Left on 03/04/2010 for a stay in January 2010

Le Ripe in Chianti is so well situated that while it takes only a few minutes to reach any number of charming hill towns that surround it, from its vantage point in the hills it feels peaceful and lovely. The Le Stalle apartment is large, elegantly furnished and filled with light. Despite a freezing winter, the under-floor heating kept us warm and the fireplace added romance as well as heat. The kitchen, where a basket of delicious treats greeted us, was a delight to cook in which allowed us to really enjoy shopping for local produce. The wonderful bathroom has an enormous bath, a shower like a powerful waterfall and a great view across the valley. The view from the living room across the hills to vineyards in the distance was hard to leave and so were the surrounds of the house - birds, garden, woods and ancient stone walls criss-crossing the property. We made some great day trips to Florence (about an hour by bus) and Siena (about 40 minutes by car) but found that most of the time we were really happy to explore the local area. Panzano is a tiny, beautiful and friendly little town and losing yourself in the Chianti hills is a great pastime. Our hosts, who live upstairs from Le Stalle, were welcoming and generous and always on hand if we needed advice or assistance with anything. At the same time it felt very private so that so that for the two weeks that we were there it really felt like our own place and not a holiday rental. Having somewhere beautiful to stay can really make difference to how well we enjoy a holiday. Le Ripe in Chianti is a very special place and was every bit as beautiful, comfortable and charming as we had hoped it would be and more.

      Le Ripe Honeymoon

Left on 12/18/2009 for a stay in November 2009

10 Nights at the apartment called Loggia. Loggia must be Italian for charming and comfortable accomadations. From the moment we got out of the car we knew that the internet pictures and discriptions of our accomadations were understated.

Our host and hostess were very freindly and helpful in suggesting local dining and points of interest as well as tips on navigating our visit to Florence.

Great fireplace, kitchen, bed and shower, all very clean.

Our difficulty with the Italian Language was not a problem as our hosts and the local population were very freindly and accomadating. The restaurant at the bottom of the hill was recommended by our hosts and the food and service was world class.

Though the sun was not shining every day, and a jacket was required for most, the fall weather in Chianti is beautiful. Colors were in full glory. We must have taken over a thousand photographs.

It may have been a little difficult to find without the GPS, which also came in helpfull navigating the winding roads going to and from.

Nearby markets with reasonable prices made it easy and fun to cook up our own meals. A caffee in Gevee offers free wireless access, (and great food), to customers.

The best part of our stay was the beautiful location.

What we liked least was a late night drive back from Florence after attending an Opera. It got a little foggy and the GPS was not working right. Fortunately we stumbled across familiar roads.

      Overall our stay was wonderfull.

If we go back to Italy, we go back to Le Ripe.

Romantic & charmful accomodation in the heart of the Chianti reg

Left on 08/26/2009 for a stay in August 2009

We have spent with my wife one week in August 2009 in Tuscany at Le Fienile accomodation in Lucarelli village. The Fienile accomodation has really a great value for price. Not only the accomodation is very cosy and romantic, but it has also a perfect central location in the Chianti region for the amateurs of wine, landscapes and sightseeing tours (in the middle between Florence and Sienna). Besides the owners - Fabio and Leitha - are so friendly and have a great sense of the hospitality. We felt there like at home ... A highly recommended place for a stay in one of the most romantic and charmful region in the world. So what do you wait? Just book your stay there. You will not regret it ...

A very nice cozy house with an amazing location. It feels as good as at home. We had everything needed to feel ourself comfortable during vacation. We just enjoyed staying there and our hospitable family. It takes no time to go around to the local hills-towns and take time off, especially because of no terrible tourists amount around. And all those views....it is definitely the place want to be visited again. If want to feel a touch of Tuscony, then I think this is it.

Our family had rented the fienile cottage for a week. It couldn't have been
better! The location is extremely pretty and the cottage was immaculately
clean. It was perfect for our family of four; linen was clean and colourful ,hot
water throughout the stay, lovely herbs gracefully growing around the
cottage...very serene. The welcome basket was such a delight in the
pantry.Leitha and Fabio shared great tips and are truly warm and wonderful
hosts. The place gives you privacy, whilst been accessible to good restaurants
and markets. Definitely recommended. This place relaxes you and rejuvenates
      you.

Peace and quiet in the centre of Chianti

Left on 07/14/2009 for a stay in June 2009

My wife and I stayed at Le Ripe for two wonderful weeks. It is a great location for exploring the Chianti region which we did by car and bus. Le Ripe is situated in a lovely, peaceful and quiet position with views over the beautiful Chainti countryside. The accomodation had everything we needed for our stay, especially the large comfortable bed and the fantastic shower. (We have never been so clean!)Fabio and Leitha were the perfect hosts, they are multilingual so we had no language difficulties! There was a lovely welcome pack, fresh flowers in the living room and we were treated liberally with sweet cherries and delicious plumbs from their trees. For anyone seeking a quiet and relaxing break in the centre of the Chianti region they would be hard pressed to find a better venue. We loved it.
