Additional Location Information

The Estate is situated less than 2 km from Castelnuovo which is the main town of the Garfagnana region which enjoys a weekly market. This medieval town represents the centre of this beautiful area, well known for its mountains, lakes, valleys, caves, excursions and its excellent food. A few minutes drive are other attractive medieval villages, the best known being Barga. The exclusive Sea side resort of 'Forte de Marmi' or the City of Lucca are fifty minutes drive from the Estate. If one wants to venture further such as the Islands of Elba, Corsica or Sardinia, there is the Harbour of Livorno a ninety minutes drive away . Milano and Rome are about three hours thirty minutes away. There is a very good train service to all these destinations.
