      You are treated like family

Left on 07/02/2012 for a stay in June 2012

For the second year in a row we stated at Le Santucce for one month. Out the "back door" and you are in the walled village of Castiglion Fiorentino with its' pizza parlor, deli shop, clothing stores, farmacy and people who actually smile and offer you a warm "Caio". We cannot think of a more pleasant and convenient location for a week or a month. With the train station only 3 minutes away, leave your worries at the train parking lot and travel to Orvieto, Florence, Rome and many other "Tuscana" towns; or simply pack a lunch and use Le Santucce as your home base as you visit one hill-top town after another.

      A gem!

Left on 11/06/2011 for a stay in October 2011

Our visit to LeSantucce was fabulous! The convent has been amazingly restored with ceiling beams and arches. There were handpainted screens, pictures and unique touches in every room. The rooms were delightful. The kitchens were fully equipped and the bedrooms and baths were spacious and had all the amenities. The best feature was the large balcony complete with plants and a table and chairs. It offerred a great view of the city and surrounding fields and hills. We loved the nearby cafe. A door in the hotel opened onto a narrow street that led to a market and bar at the top of the hill. The small shops along it were fun, and there were several atm's along it. We took our host's advice and visited Siena and Florence. The local people we met were super helpful and friendly. LeSantucce is a gem and made our visit to Tuscany terrific!

A taste of Tuscany, a glass of hospitality

Left on 06/29/2011 for a stay in June 2011

A most magnificant facility! Le Santucce is the best combination of location, facilities, and comfort possible. Whether for one night, one week, or one month, LE Santucce is a highly recommended residence.

The convenience of the train station (4 minute car ride) for day trips to most any part of Italy, to the local intra-city bus (Arezzo or Cortona, to simply walking through this romantic and quite medieval hill-top town is not to be missed.

Alfeo, Miranda, Luca and the entire family will insure that your stay - whether short or long - will be a memorable one. Their hospitality and care for your comfort is unparalled in vacation travel.

      Le Santucce is the place!!!

Best Place to stay in Tuscany

Left on 06/22/2011 for a stay in May 2011

From the moment we set foot on Residence le Santucce, we have been captivated by its beauty. Its owners couldn't have crafted a better reflection of the natural beauty of that wondrous Tuscan landscape; each room different from the other with its own charm and character; each window framing the spectacular view in their own unique way.

We were a large group of 32 from the Philippines; there to celebrate the golden wedding anniversary of our parents. On the day we arrived, we had fun touring each room, each one excitedly pointing out to all the little charming details. My aunt was so fascinated by her room that she pledged to redo her own room back in Manila.

Upon meeting the owners and listening to the stories on how this residence came about, we realized that this place was a labor of love of alfeo, Miranda, Luca, Luisella and Raphaela who painstakingly restored a 13th century monastery over ten years.

They were the most gracious hosts who shuttled us to and from the train station; provided us with a big kitchen so we can cook everyday; helped us get train tickets and occasionally had wine with us on that patio with a view of the valley. Soon, they've become our friends.

We were lucky because our stay coincided with the medieval fest of the town of Castiglion Fiorentino. There were bird shows, archery, plays, food kiosks showcasing medieval cuisine - the roast lamb was great! Every night, there was something different to see and experience.

For me and my cousin in particular, the place was great because we had access to an excellent bike route which helped us prepare for our Ironman 70.3 in Pescara. Castiglione del Lago was two train stops away where I was able to practice my swim and where the kids had a wonderfull time swimming and playing at the beach of Lake Trasimeno.

We will never forget our stay here. And we all look forward to coming back.

      Best Vacation Rental/Hotel Stay Ever!

Left on 06/02/2011 for a stay in May 2011

Le Santucce was by far one of the best places I've stayed when traveling. My sister is studying at Santa Chiara, and the center is only a five minute walk away from the Residence. When I arrived, Alfeo picked me up at the train station and then drove me back the morning I left, after buying me coffee! He also went inside the station with me to help with a ticket purchase, which I greatly appreciated. The management at Le Santucce is kind, laid-back, and extremely welcoming. I felt right at home. I had a single room with an in-suite bathroom, very clean and nicely decorated, not like cheesy generic hotel decorations. Also, the bed was great! I fell asleep in the middle of the day and didn't wake up for two hours. The area is quite safe and I felt at ease walking around by myself, even at night. Cf is small, yet still beautiful, and staying at Le Santucce made me feel like I lived there. It is a great value and close enough to all the little Tuscan towns by train that it would be worth staying there if you are going to make day trips around Tuscany during your vacation.

      A pleasant week in Tuscany

Left on 03/26/2011 for a stay in March 2011

We spent a very nice holiday week at Le Santucce. I had my two kids with me and they received very nice attention and hospitality from the hosts. All our questions and needs very taken seriously and fulfilled. The residence is located in the center of the village and it is easy to get around by bus or train to other villages and towns nearby. Castiglion Fiorentino is a quiet and charming village.

      Peacefull vacation

Left on 01/02/2011 for a stay in November 2010

For our purpose the place was exactly what we wanted. It was in the center of the town so that we could walk around in the neighbourhood without a car, Bus and train stations were also close by so it was easy to visit Cortona and arezzo.

The residence was stylish and spacious so also our 4-year old child had room to play. The kitchenette served its purpose well enabling us to make breakfast and lunch.

As Finns we are used to have warm indoors during cold winter. During our stay the weather in Tuscany was quite chilly and we needed to buy some extra sweater and shoes for indoor use...

Host and hostess of the residence were very friendly and helpfull.
