Outside is off road parking for one car, and a small enclosed gravelled courtyard. Mullein Lodge is ideally situated for walking, exploring the moors or heading to the coast.

Town: Set in the breathtaking and beautiful location of the Upper Esk Valley in the North Yorkshire Moors, Castleton is the main village in the area and a centre for walking, bird watching, shooting and many other pursuits. There is a bowling green adjacent to the Downe Arms public house (which is dog and walker friendly and has won accolades for its real ales) and a cricket pitch and children's play area close to the River Esk. There are many footpaths and bridleways - all providing superb views of the surrounding countryside. Castleton is a short walk from the North York Moors Danby Visitor Centre from where a number of walks start and local arts and crafts events are held. Castleton is a thriving community which has ample provision for visitors and boasts several shops, public houses, tea-rooms, a post office, garage and a bank. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday. "Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
