SPORTS: GOLF - There are several top Eastern Algarve golf courses within a 10-15 minute drive - the magnificent new Monte Rei (Jack Nicklaus) and Quinta do Vale (Seve Ballesteros) courses, Quinta da Cima & Quinta da Ria, Castro Marim and Benamor, plus a further 6 or 7 Spanish courses just over the border. The courses generally cost substantially less than the rest of the Algarve (apart from Monte Rei) and we can help with arrangements for discounted green fees before your trip. We can also arrange for the hire of ladies' and gentlemen's golf clubs - please ask us for further details.

ATHLETICS, TENNIS, SOCCER etc - The fabulous new Olympic-training approved Sports & Athletics Centre located between Vila Real de SA and Monte Gordo has a huge Stadium for track & field, soccer, archery and a gymnasium. There is also an Indoor Sports Hall offering unique facilities for practice and training, with synthetic athletic tracks, jumping pits, facilities for field sports and a large Tennis Centre

General assistance: We can help with car hire or, if you have too much luggage to fit in to your hire car at the airport, we can arrange to meet you or your luggage! We can take you, or some of your party, to specific places whilst you are staying at Casa Emilia and can make suggestions for places to visit. We can also arrange to hire travel cots and highchairs for babies and toddlers.

Beaches: Praia Verde, the nearest beach at 3km, is a wonderful, unspoilt area of long, wide white sands. It has a fabulous beach restaurant, open from February to November, and dinner under the stars on a summer's evening is a great experience. There are many, lovely beaches in the vicinity and it is possible to walk for miles along the sands of the Atlantic coastline - stopping for refreshments at the various cafes, bars and restaurants located right on the beach.Read more

The villa is 2km north of the coastal EN125 road at Praia Verde & 5 minutes from A22 motorway junction 17 near Spain. The beautiful, unspoilt beach of Praia Verde is close by, as are the beaches of Manta Rota, Altura and Monte Gordo, with its lively cafes, restaurants and casino. Close to lovely golf courses, scenic tourist drives and on the edge of a large nature reserve, with designated nature trails and bird watching facilities. The cosmopolitan town of Vila Real at the Spanish border on the Guadiana is a 10 minute drive and is home to the unique new sports, athletics & tennis stadium, marina, ferryboat to Spain, supermarkets and shops specialising in towels and linen. The towns of Altura & Castro Marim are 5 minutes away with supermarkets, bakers and daily indoor markets with fresh fish, meat, fruit & vegetables - a real treat. The lovely countryside view from the roof terrace, together with the distant sound of church bells chiming across the fields, almost guarantees relaxation

Payment is usually accepted in the quoted currency (British Pound) unless the currency and the amount is specifically agreed in advance with the owner/advertiser. Payment may be made by cheque to a British Bank Account or by Bank Transfer in British Pounds or Euros.

During the main school holiday periods, bookings normally run from Saturday to Saturday. However, there is great flexibility at all other times, so please feel free to ask. Standard check-in time is from 4 pm (16.00 hours) on the day of arrival, through to check-out by 10 am (10.00 hours) on the day of departure - local Portuguese/UK time. This is to ensure that preparation and cleaning of the house is not jeopardized for the next guest.

A 25% deposit of the total amount is required to secure your booking - where there is a long lead-time until the holiday we are happy for the deposit to be paid in instalments. The outstanding balance must be settled at least one month before check-in. The deposit is non-refundable on cancellation, unless we can re-sell the holiday. We strongly recommend that you cover all eventualities by a travel/accident insurance policy.
Guests provide their own meals.
