Painless checkin, friendly staff, nice unit in mid town. When walking in just remember to use the elevator and avoid the stairs on the far right!!! Whew! Great view from the patio, quiet, clean and well kept.

We enjoyed our stay in C59. It is comfortable, away from the loud downtown, yet close to the church and easy access for whatever one wishes to do.

The owners of this condo have done a nice job, updating the furnishings, including the bed, bathroom, and other furnishings. In my 11 years with CIVR, this is the first 'paper thin wall' comment I've gotten with regards to Bahia Vista. I've taken the stroll from Bahia Vista to the beach on Crescent Street, where the Downtown Shops are. It takes about 5 minutes.
On behalf of these owners, I do want to say that carpets are cleaned when needed, the furnishings are updated and comfortable, and more updates are scheduled as the need arises.
Thank you,

Enjoyed the unit very much. Had a couple family members over and grilled on the open deck. Plenty of room for a gathering. Could use some better grilling utensils, but what they had worked. All remodeled new and layout was great. Large TV good to keep critters busy or for watching sports. Great bed, comfy and bathroom was remodeled and looks good. We enjoyed walking all over the avalon area and didn't have a problem with the location. It is located about 3 blocks to 1/2 mi. from the main drag depending on where you are going.

This roomy 1-bedroom unit was on 3rd level and overlooked avalon and harbor with a beautiful view of casino as well. It is hard to beat after walking around and seeing other rental units, We were very lucky to have such a great view. Patio was huge. We'll be back!

The condo had great furniture. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the recently re-done bathroom and new TV! The new kitchen appliances were also great. Only thing missing in the kitchen was larger drinking glasses and a cutting board - we looked everywhere. The only suggestion I have is a more comfortable patio table and chairs - the high table and chairs are not so great.

PasadenaVery Nice Place
Left on 07/13/2010 for a stay in July 2010
We stayed in this unit in 2007 and liked it then, but it's been upgraded since then, with new bathroom fixtures, a wall-mounted flat-screen TV, and stainless steel appliances. Very nice and comfortable place - especially the bed (super comfy) and nice, big couch that folds out to a bed. This unit, unlike some other 1 Br's at Bahia Vista, has the bathroom outside of the master bedroom which is nice when you have additional guests. There is a very large patio with a great view of the harbor and super comfortable patio furniture. The kitchen table should be fixed or replaced - very wobbly - and the kitchen needs some cooking utensils (measuring spoons, salad tongs, cooking spoons) and better variety of glasses. Also, a stereo would be nice. All in all though, my husband, son, and I really enjoyed our stay in C59 and will go back again.

Santa Monica, CAGreat Condo
Left on 09/23/2009 for a stay in August 2009
I went with my boyfriend and my teenage son and his friend. This 1 bedroom condo was large enough for all of us, the kids stayed on the very large comfy couch, no need to pull out to a bed (which is not as comfy). Large balcony was like another room to escape to with a nice view of the harbor. We thought we would need to rent a golf cart, but the walk was just two blocks, and not necessary to rent a cart. On downtime, the kids played in the pool and jacuzzi, which was great. The kitchen was large, and I got to cook when we did not eat out and still see everyone in my family while doing so. The management service was great, always available, friendly, and nearby, as is everything. I would stay here again in a heartbeat- great getaway from Los Angeles, or anywhere!
P.S.- condo was on third level, very nice high up view, and we saw a family of deer right behind us on the hillside. -

The view was beautiful and the unit was very nice. The faucet in the bathroom sink was dripping when we arrived and progressed to a light stream of water. I had to launder the sheets on the bed as they had a foul odor.

San Diego, CAOkay for a very short stay
Left on 08/20/2009 for a stay in August 2009
The service of the rental company was good. The rental property however,
needs some work. I myself own a rental property with tenants, so I
understand the obligation to provide a safe and clean property. Although
the property was clean, there is definitely some strong mold odor in the
condo, particularly in the bathroom. If we were to stay any longer then 2
days we would have moved somewhere else. The wallpaper in the bathroom
seems to be peeling quite a bit, so I'm sure when it's updated and repaired
they can check the walls behind it for serious mold issues. The kitchen was
clean. I was surprised to see appliances that old (late 70's early 80's?!) but
they were clean and seemed to be in good condition. The master bed was
comfortable and the view is very nice from the large outdoor patio area. The
condo is up against a hillside and there are many stairs you have to take
even with the elevator. This condo is on the 3rd floor and there are stairs
before and after the elevator, so not easy with a lot of luggage or a stroller.
The last thing to mention, and I think this should be mentioned directly on
the rental properties website, is the strict rules for the pool and spa. We
traveled with two young children, and were shocked to see the rules posted
everywhere... "no loud noise in the pool, including any games like marco
polo or music or shouting. And absolutely NO ONE in the spa under 14
years of age, or you will be fined $50." It is posted in the elevators, at the
pool in a big sign next to the spa, and the tenants even told us about it
when we entered the pool area. They obviously take it serious!Response from Catalina Island Vacation Rentals - 06/05/2010

Thank you for your comments. You'll be happy to know that the owners have done some wonderful upgrading. They remodeled the bathroom, have done some other upgrades and are in the process of updating the kitchen. There's not much we can do about the exterior stairs, but we have been working with on-site management regarding the 'strict' enforcement of the numerous rules in an effort to make the Bahia Vista Experience more enjoyable for both year round residents and visitors.

We had a fabulous time at the Bahia Vista property, i would reccomend it to any coouple that needs to get away for the weekend. It is really nice to have a full kitchen, eating out for every meal can get old. I think we spent more time on the balcony enjoying the sun than anywhere else.

We loved the condo. Perfect location. The bed was sooo comfortable.Patio was great. Loved the veiw.We will come back again. The only things I would change are the oven and the microwave. Those appliances did not work well. They are way to old.Time to replace them. The oven over cooked the food and the microwave was weak.Everything else was great.Hopefully the next time we come you will have newer appliances. We had a blast and overall loved the condo.

I thought it was a nice place, good location away from downtown noise, easy walk to Jazz conert which was my main reason. The apartment was spacious and clean, just furnishings were very dated. Guess I'm to use to staying in Marriotts and Hiltons for same money/night.

Upon arrival at the proprty we surprised to see a long list of rules!! like being taped while using the pool and spa !!! what's up with that?
We go to Catalina every year for Jazz Trax
but we decided we will not stay at the Bahia Vista again Unless it was our only choice.
WE enjoy being able to cook our own meals seeing how the Island is crowded at that time
of year.
We picked that condo complex because it had a
pool and spa but the rules were very restrictive no pool or spa use after 9:00 at nite.
So I guess i would say if you don't mind the all the rules then the place is nice enough
and if you don't mind being a little away from town (we like to walk to and from the casino ball room) then it will do just fine
it was clean. so over all it is a decent property but if you would like to use the facilty
after returning from jazz trax stay somewhere else we are not loud people we just wanted to feel like we were on vacation thats all!! -

We enjoyed our stay in this unit. It was well stocked and a great location. Other family members rented units nearby. All of us were pleased with the accommodations. Will rent it again in the future. Awesome!
