Petaluma Family
Petaluma, CALoved our stay!
Left on 05/08/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We stayed 6 days/5 nights in a10 and loved the place. Easy first floor access that's centrally located to the two complex entrances (essential for families with small children in strollers) and close to the pool and laundry facilities. Furnished well with plenty of beds and seats available. Tv and cable access were great. Drop-fishing lines and sand toys in the closet were a fun find for family. The 1000 piece cat puzzle was equally entertaining and frustrating, and well appreciated by the adults. The grill was especially a great addition, though we needed to request grill tools and ovenmitts from Civr. The cupboards were stocked with many basics for cooking and the fridge was stocked with every condiment needed. We really liked the wide open entryway which had room to keep a stroller parked inside, snorkle gear stowed, and shoes taken off upon entry. A pass-through from the kitchen to the dining area was really neat and a timesaver for several dishes and drinks being passed to and from the table. The bathrooms were stocked with several storage shelves and under-sink areas, which are very appreciated.
A few quirks were the reasons for the missing star: the master toilet barely flushed even after plunging (would not flush TP), a dining chair was broken, missing grill tools and oven mitts/pads (which was remedied), and the bedroom windows could use blackout curtains.
It's evident the owners love their place and have made it a real home. We loved staying here and would stay again! -

Condo was large and spacious for our family of five. Good value, clean, had everything we needed for our vacation. Customer service was excellent. Definitely would consider renting again from this company on our next visit to Catalina.

Ventura, CAThis rental was over priced for condition and age. Not very clea
Left on 08/15/2012 for a stay in August 2012
We happened to book our rental unit the same day we were going to Catalina on a very busy weekend. There were only 2 options left and this was one of them. We were very disappointed in this rental at the price we paid for it. It was not very nice, everything was very old. It did not smell very good and it was not cleaned properly. We found hair balls and strands of hair all over the unit (we are guessing from the cleaning people). The bed was very uncomfortable and the unit just was not what we were hoping for at all. Despite the pictures of it looking decent, it was not decent and I would not stay in it again. I definitely would never pay the price paid for this unit again. I have stayed in suites in Las Vegas before that were less expensive.
We did let the rental company know our concerns when we checked out and they were very nice about it. They handled the situation properly and we definitely appreciated that. That said, we would definitely use the rental company again but would choose a different unit and plan our stay ahead of time so we don't get stuck with one like this.

We had great service, I had a budget and they worked with me to find the right place in Catalina.
The Condo was great, not that we spend a lot of time in it but then we did very enjoyable.
We were 3 blocks from the town/beach. Lot's of walking which we loved. The only issue was the Pool. When we got there (thursday morning)it was lime green...Friday morning there was a sign "Closed" pump issues. But Sunday the our last day it was ready to use...kind of a bummer.
The walking around town, people watching, getting up early for a walk & coffee. The pool issue, this was way we rented this unit and not a cute cottage. Sometimes you just want to lay by the pool and when it's hot (had great weather) jump in the pool. -

We actually had 3 units at Bahia Vista and found them all to be clean and comfortable. Check in and check out were very simple. The pool area was great.

Ventura, CAGreat Tri Race Week
Left on 11/19/2009 for a stay in November 2009
My husband and I came Tues-Tues in November for the Triathelon. We've stayed in this unit before, and have always liked it. New living room furniture and flat screen TV were surprise improvements. Kitchen is well furnished with lots of utensiles--we do cook during our week stay a lot. We requested our propane tank be filled for the BBQ, and it was instantly. These "A unit" two story-2 bedroom apts all house 6 people so comfortably: 3 toilets, lots of elbow room, and the fewest steps. We had 13 family members in three apts, all to cheer on Papa for the race, and ALL were uniformly clean and appointed. CIVR handled all our reservations effortlessly and were very pleasant. It was fun to explore each unit for decorator designs. We do wish the complex was closer to the bay--we walk to town several times a day, but oh well. It would be nice if a representative met you at the apt. or at a booth on the mole with your keys on arrival. Schlepping luggage several blocks out of the way to their office to get keys is a pain. If you go straight to the complex, then you wait on the curb for your runner to return with the keys. The pool area was locked Tuesday-Thurs and wasn't opened until the spa got heated for the weekend-the main pool is NOT heated and was freezing-not what we were expecting. All in all we like Bahia Vista and will return again. This Granny likes the trade off of less steps to streetside A units rather than spectacular views of some others.

Los AngelesTotally Relaxing
Left on 01/22/2009 for a stay in May 2008
We go to Catalina once or twice a year. It's kind of "our spot." Only on
the last trip out did we decide to do a vacation rental instead of a
hotel, and we'll do it every time from now on! Not only was it totally
easy, but it was a 100 times more relaxing to have your own place that
felt like a home away from home on vacation.
