One bedroom, 1 1/2 bath, one level condo located on the top floor of the complex. Walk past the pool to the elevator and take to the 3rd floor, exit left from the elevator and then take a left and walk through the hallway to the property. Upon entering, you will walk down seven steps to the dining and living area, with TV, VCR, DVD player and stereo, a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious master suite, and a large deck accessible from both the bedroom and the living space. Enjoy the view of Avalon Harbor and town while relaxing on the deck! No smoking, please. A total of 749 sq ft.

The weekends were great but during the week the condos on either side of our condo were being renovated so after noon naps were noisy as well also water was turned off twice and no hot water one day. It's hard not to have a great time in Catalina but the condo experience was not the greatest.

Much of Bahia Vista is getting a facelift this year. Unfortunately, this had a negative affect on your stay. I encourage you to contact me at CIVR and discuss. While vacation rentals generally are a good value for the guest, off season projects do occur occasionally nearby.
We are excited about the overall improvements to Bahia Vista complex and individual properties.

Our weekend stay overall was great. We loved the location of the condo and enjoyed the view. However, this particular condo felt like a throw back of the 60's. The condo literally looked like it was furnished from a collection of different yard sales and smelled like it too. The curtains in the living room were broken and would not close and they were hanging off the rod. If you like to wake up with the rising of the sun, the curtains in the bedroom shouldn't bother you as they are see through. The mattress and box spring were tattered and torn and the carpet and throw rugs were worn, lumpy and filthy. I dared not walk barefoot. Not to mention that you can hear every word your neighbor says as the walls are paper thin. Oh yeah, this unit does not have air conditioning either.
Although all these issues can be lived with, I expected far better accommodations after paying close to $700 for 2 nights. -

We had a nice stay all in all. Lots of good points: well equipped, roomy, nice patio with good view, nice pool, easy walk from the town. However, should only be advertised as sleeps two. The mattress on the sofa bed is beyond horrible, even topping it with the foam pad rolled up in the closet. This improvement and some low cost cosmetic and modernization upgrades would put it up to "very good" in my book.

Initially I was a little disappointed:
The decor was pretty old. Faded pictures, really old appliances and slightly crunchy carpet in the bedroom.
The whole place had an interesting odor (the elevator was the worst).
However:
The bed was comfy and clean.
The furniture was not ragged or abused.
Everything worked and was clean.
Taking the stairs is good for you.
Once you get the doors open and the place aired out it smelled find.
The deck is awesomely large and fairly private.
It was deathly quiet at night especially since it was a little removed from what passes for a downtown with the bars.
Overall I liked the place especially for the price and will very likely come back. If not to this unit possibly to the complex. -

Have stayed at Bahia Vista many times. This was our first time in B41. Found the unit to be poorly cleaned. Sticky cabinets, dirty dishes in cupboard, hair clogging the tub that we had to clean out to drain after the first shower. Vacume cleaner in unit did not work. I would say it is a basic, comfortable unit that needs a good cleaning. When reported to Catalina Vacation Rentals was told "well, it's the end of season."

The unit offers a large sundeck with views of the hillsides, cottages, and Casino. It included plenty of clean towels and kitchen necessities. There were 4 of us and we were quite comfortable. It was an easy stroll to the village and local points of interest.

by the time we arrived (after almost getting sick on the boat!) wrangled up our 2 and a half year old and all of our luggage and got to the office, we were pretty beat. maybe it was written on my face but the lovely gentleman who checked us in offered to take us to our condo in his cart. that was a god send. so nice. the rest of our stay was much more relaxing. we loved the condo. it was well equipped and spacious. will stay again for sure.

We had a great time on Catalina Island and really enjoyed staying at the condo at Bahia Vista. The location was good, it was quiet, and we loved the view and the large balcony! Since we needed a separate room for our adult son and 2 bathrooms so B41 suited our needs. My only suggestion is that at some point the owner needs to re-do and upgrade. We owned a beach condo near Charleston, SC for 19 years and our rental agent would have never accepted a property as shabby as that one. But it was fine for our sleeping needs, we did not spend much time at the condo. The sliding glass door in the living room makes a HORRIBLE screeching noise and baddly needs some WD-40 or something!! Also, if the owner replaces only one thing a better mattress on the hide-a-bed would be good. Thanks for a great stay. If I heard that this unit had been upgraded - we'd stay there again in the future, it is a nice building. (By the way I had already mailed a critic that you will get later, by the time I got this e-mail)

We just spent a wonderful week at the Bahia Vista Condo-B41 and had a wonderful time. This is the first time that we stayed in a vacation rental home instead of a hotel -- and it was perfect. The house was clean and had all the ammenities of home and more. Everything was in order when we arrived, and we were pleased to learn that the pictures online matched the home. It's actually nicer than the pictures! We'd definitely recommend this house. The building was peaceful, quiet and clean. The only downside is that a golf cart was not included in the rental.

The condo was nice and it had a good view. The extra bathroom was also handy. Our room was mostly very quiet which we liked. The wear and tear on much of the furniture was starting to be very much evident. Our bedroom cable tv was out when we checked in but within a day or so it was fixed. My biggest complaint would be about the pool and pool area. Often it was crowded with many people. Often the guests did not respect the rules such as having glass containers at the pool (mostly beer bottles)or overcrowding the jacuzzi and allowing small children to go into the jacuzzi. My son wanted to swim in the pool a lot and often it was not a pleasant place to be. It was really nice to barbacue on the patio at night which we did several times. I would greatly appreciate a break in the price if I was to book this room again. Thanks for letting me give feedback. Sincerely john white
