Casa De Freeman has been providing families with fun and memorable summer vacations for almost 50 years. Located on Catalina Ave, your vacation home is just one block from the beach, and within easy walking distance to the markets, restaraunts, dozens of shops, and all the recreation venues that Avalon has to offer.

Your Catalina Casa is a two story fun family house that sleeps six to nine comfortably. The house, originally built in the 1920's , combines the new like an Amana bottom freezer refrigerator and a GE gas stove with powerboil burners, with the original, like brass doornobs with keyholes and eyelet hooks on the the bathroom d...oors.The house has 2 bathrooms upstairs, one with a built in tub, the second with a stall shower, and a powder room downstairs. All the bedrooms are upstairs. The front and back bedrooms have queen beds, the small bedroom at the top of the stairs has a twin bed, the middle bedroom which you have to walk through to get to the back bedroom has two twin beds, (which makes these two rooms perfect for parents that have little ones they need to monitor) and the master bedrom which has a king bed. There are two TV's in the house, one in the master bedroom and the other in the living room, which has a DVD player attached.

The house also features a large covered patio perfect for family meals, like that barbequed fish that you just caught off the pier. The house has another amenity that is rarely found in Avalon,a large back yard complete with a rare Coral tree, some large Bird of Paradise, and a lot of hibiscus trees. Beyond the greenery there is another area in the back yard with two chaise lounges for those who wish to get their tan in a more private setting.

The last feature, and probably the favorite with most guests year after year, is the old fashioned front porch, complete with two redwood rocking chairs where you can have your morning coffee, read your mid-day book or newspaper, or sip some wine or beer at happy hour time.

So whether you want be going all day golfing, fishing, biiking, trying the zip-line or parasail, or prefer to just park yourself in the redwood rockers on your front porch, say howdy neighbor to the friendly locals, and just watch the world go by, your Catalina casa gives you the perfect home base. This is also a great place for those extended family vacations where the kids, the parents, and the grandparents can can all share the fun and memories of Catalina togeher !

  Casa De Freeman, Catalina Island: We really love our annual summer visits to Catalina Island. This updated, historic house is by far the best vacation rental home in avalon. We highly recommend that you consider this rental home as your first choice if you plan to vacation for a week or two at this beautiful, accessible, kid-friendly Pacific paradise. Read over the 'Description from the owner'. That is all true! Some families consistently make reservations to return each year, you will need to select the weeks you would like to visit Catalina and begin the process to reserve this home as soon as you are able. The best vacation rentals will have only limited 'Available' opportunities for the dates you may prefer. Casa De Freeman is large enough to accommodate your extended families and/or vacationing friends. You can relax with some drinks and/or an outdoor BBQ in the large tropical garden. Sit on the front porch and enjoy your morning coffee and donut. We love the many fun things to do in avalon that are all within a few blocks from 236 Catalina avenue. We will be back too!

  The highlight of our summer vacation is our family stay at 236 Catalina. We have enjoyed this special place for the last 40 years. The rooms are clean and the kitchen well-equipped. Attention to detain is evident. The side yard is spacious and offers outdoor cooking for family gatherings and special parties. We love the front porch where we can enjoy spectacular sunsets and visit with Islanders and other vacationers. The home owners at 236 are second to none. They will meet your every need and go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Catalina Island has many choices of activities, restaurants, and beautiful sights. Your stay at 236 will complete your unforgetable experience.

  I think CasaDeFreeman Catalina Is. Family Vacation Home is truly a home away from home. We enjoyed our stay here immensely. The house is big enough to accommodate my extended families. The kitchen is fully- equipped with everything we need; from making smoothies, home-cooked meals, doing BBQ in the spacious backyard, or enjoying cold drinks by the balcony across the mini golf area or just watching people go by or watching the horse-drawn carriage pass by. This maybe one of the few places in the island that you can rent that have a beautiful garden with big grown trees. We all loved relaxing in lounge chairs enjoying each others' company while admiring the view. The kids enjoyed walking to the beach & shops which is approximately one block away. They loved going to the pier to do some fishing, paddle boats, & the glass bottom boats which runs straight from Catalina St. The place is so centrally located that everything is either steps or blocks away; you do not need to rent those "golf carts" to get around unless you join the tourist bus trips to do some sightseeing in and around the island. This is truly a great place for a great price in a fun filled island not too far from home.
