We have been renting this unit for over 10 years. It has grown worse and worse in need of repair and a good cleaning. Last year the property manager reimbursed us part of the fee due to multiple issues in the unit. There is a new owner that added gaudy furniture and some pretty ugly stuff; like faux fur sheets...Ewe!!! We managed to find some cotton sheets that fit and replaced them along with the fake satin pillow cases. Did I mention it was 88 degrees? Bbq was filthy and we had to clean it, shower heads screwed up, floors made our feet so black it will have to,"wear" off. To name a few things. We love the location and the golf cart but at these prices this place should b pretty cherry... And it isn't. Read more

The best review of this property is that we've been returning for the past twenty years. What else can I say!

Things were a mess when checked.

We were missing second sets of towels for about five of us. The supplies were delivered in a timely manner. There was dirt all over on the back patio outside the upstairs bedroom. Dirty mess left on back patio. And this was brought to the attention of your office. Also a fishing pole and clothing was left under front bench on the entrance patio. The hall bathroom toilet tiasue holder broke and my husband had to fix it. Also the plug/plunger of the hall bath sink would not open or close, so again my husband had to fix it so we could use the sink! The location couldn't of been better. Just awesome! We loved having the golf cart. Just kind of noisey when the upstairs occupants moved their heavy chairs.
It is the place we want to be when we return!

We had a mixed-age group of 10...grandparents, parents, and grandchildren, who were ages 8 to 25, and I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed the property, and Catalina. The bunk bed room is a perfect dorm for children, and the two sitting-room areas in the living room, gave everyone some space. The openness of the dining/kitchen/living room meant that we never felt crowded. Everything was clean, and attractive. The location was perfect for meandering through town, and the golf cart was an extra fun plus. The service we received was excellent, so easy, helpful, and friendly...it is the place we want to be when we return!

We loved the house at 211! The location was amazing! Close to the beach, stores and the ferry. Very clean and comfortable for ten! We cooked, barbecued, and lounged happily. Golf cart was old but very convenient. We were blissfully happy until the upstairs 211 guests arrived! The noise was horrific! The rental agency might look into carpeting that place! We hear every footfall and scoot of chairs! That was awful! Other than that it was wonderful! I would recommend this place! (just check to see 211 "up" is available (vacant) and all is good!)

This is the best house on the entire island. My wahine girlfriends and I have been coming to this island since 1989 and we love it. We got older, and richer, so now we can afford the "Best seat in the house!" It is pricey, but well worth it and when you share the cost, not so bad. Recent improvements made and even nicer now. If there is an issue at all, they hurry right down and fix it. Cant say enough, we have rented a ton of homes on this island and we have been using this one for about 5 years.

We've walked by this house for years and wanted to stay there. Finally got our chance this year. The location is great, the golf cart is wonderful, and watching avalon while relaxing on the huge patio is fantastic. The house is showing its sign of rental overload. Bathrooms could really use some repairs and updating. The kitchen, while large with a new refrigerator, has very little other amenities. Would love to have had a blender. Thanks to the owner for making their home available. We will be back next year.

Thanks for your quick response to notice of missing items. Happy to see a new fridge and dish washer. 211 is our home away from home so we want to mention that the bunk room bathroom faucet on the right is leaking. Also new refrigerator makes strange noises a couple times day/night. Otherwise works great! We love the deck in front..lots of good times with friends who rent upstairs. Of course the proximity to beach/boardwalk is a bonus to this vacation home! See you next year for our silver anniversary!

excellent accommodations, but house needs minor maintenance. dining room chairs were broken and in need of a little wood glue. stove top was missing all but one knob. Bbq igniter was out, though we were able to repair it for use. Bottom line is...really nice property, but needs minor maintenance.

We enjoyed the property. Our favorite part was the beautiful, spacious patio in the front. The kitchen was nicely appointed with upgrades and plenty of room. We liked the tile throughout the house. We liked having the golf cart. The only draw back is that the upstairs is a loft rather than a completely separate room, and there is no air conditioning so the upstairs was warm at night. It is a great house, with a great location!

This is a great place for 8-10 people to stay together. The kitchen is big. The location is perfect. There is an outdoor patio for lounging and eating. The only downside is that if the upstairs unit is rented, there is alot of noise downstairs (both inside and out) from chairs being moved around on deck upstairs. But this was solved by asking upstairs tenants to be mindful of the situation.

We've stayed in four or five places in Avalon over the years, and by far this is our favorite. Incredibly comfortable home, nice big kitchen, wonderful front patio, and very convenient to the water and to town.
Two of us were free-diving & spearfishing the whole time during our stay, and this place had plenty of room to lay our gear out, rinse it down, and hang it out to dry after each session (without it cluttering up the place for everyone else).
The folks at Catalina Island Vacation Rentals once again were incredibly helpful and responsive to our needs.
The only down-side to this house that I can think of is that it gets a lot of foot traffic in front of it during the day (because of the proximity to the ferry landing). We had a lot of "looky-loos" peering in the windows and coming up to the house during the day when cruise ships were in. Nothing creepy, but you definitely don't want to stay here if you want secluded privacy.

Trying to find a hom for three families (all related) close to the beach and children friendly is not normally easy. 211 Clarissa fit the bill perfectly. It was close to thebeach and close to Casino Point wher we did ou clean up dive. The girls (ages 8-3) enjoyed having room to play and a TV to watch. The house is roomy with a very airy living space. This is the first time we have stayed at this house but we are already planning our next trip.

Never having visited Catalina before my husband and I decided this would be a wonderful place to bring our family to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. There were 16 of us so we rented both upstairs and downstairs of this Claressa house. From my first initial phone call to the time we had to leave we were given wonderful service. Both upper and lower houses were immaculate, supplied with more than enough linens and the kitchens had everything we needed for any cooking we did. The house location was close to all our planned activities and the availability of the golf carts were an added bonus. We can't wait to come back again!

Highly recommend this house. All the comforts of home. Comes with a golfcart so you can go grocery shopping. FULL kitchen to cook meals. Beautiful porch to hang out on. Beds were comfortable. Upstairs was a little hot (yes, even in November), but there was a fan and you could open the upstairs door if you choose. Great location as well. NO COMPLAINTS HERE!!! Hoping to come with my family next summer for a week.

We were able to check in a few hours early because it was available. Shortest walk (0.26 miles) from where the boat dropped us off. Spacious. Great kitchen, decor, stove in the middle of the room. Great space for hanging in the kitchen. Small front room where the main t.v. is at. Nice newew flat screen. Spacious front patio with table and chair, chaise lounges and BBQ. Upstairs room has no door for privacy but has a balcony and private bathroom with tub. Stairwell is open and has a small rail for holding on. Not recommended with small children because they can fall to the bottom level. Had a great time. Golf cart was fun to have. Walking distance to everywhere! Beach is probably 1/8 mile.

This house is better than described and the pictures do not do it

better. Do not hesitate to rent this property. It is close to everything
and for divers the porch is a dream.

We stayed in this property and also rented the upstairs property that has three bedrooms. The whole property was great for our family of 16 - plus the couch went into a bed that we did not use. Each couple had their own room and each child had their own bed all in one bedroom. It was kept well for a rental, was spacious, bright, very close to town, has a great balcony and porch, golf carts included. Both kitchens have granite counters and mexican tile flooring. The furniture was kept up OK. There are TVs in every bedroom and both family rooms. There were 5 bathrooms throughout both properties.
Perfect for big families that like nicer places to stay in!

We rented the entire house at 211 Claressa which ultimately slept 16. We had our three boys who are married with children and a couple guest kids. It was a blast! The house was just blocks from the beach so the kids could walk there everyday. We saw all the sights of Catalina Isl. There were so many activities for everyone that we could be together or break off in smaller groups and everyone had fun everyday. My grandkids said it was the best family trip ever!

I almost hate to tell anyone how nice this place is, then it will be harder to rent when I need it. We've stayed here 3-4 times. It's actually 2 units and both are great. It's a little pricey compared to other units on the island, but it has amenities and comfort that no other unit or hotel has to offer.

We were over there for my wedding and we rented this house for the whole family to stay in. Catalina Island is not known for it's large houses. This is one of the few houses that can sleep 10 people and comes with a cart and parking. Catalina Island vacation rentals was great to work with.
My husband and I had reserved a condo for ourselves through another rental agency and when we showed up with loads of the wedding stuff and luggage, they told us that it wasn't reserved because they don't accept credit cards. They had taken my credit card number to hold the condo but cancelled it when they didn't receive a check. They never called me to tell me they needed a check.
I was devastated. I walked down to Catalina island vacation rentals and they found us a place immediately. They even went and picked up all of our luggage and personally walked us to the house we just rented.
I highly recommend using Catalina Island Vacation Rentals for every visit to Avalon. They give you the personal service and the prices are fair(for Catalina Island)
