Los AngelesI love this place
Left on 05/22/2013 for a stay in May 2013
We have rented this house three times in a row and are scheduled to do it again next year. It's comfortable, clean and ideal for entertaining. It's the best house I've ever rented on the island.

Chula Vista, CAA unique and beautiful avalon home
Left on 04/06/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This is probably our 5th or 6th avalon home we've rented over the years. Arguably one of our favorites. For a family of five plus two grandparents, it worked out really well. I wish we could know the story about the design of this house. So unique and obviously a lot of thought was put into it. Very comfortable beds. Great amenities. Love the furniture. I've never seen more electrical outlets! The builders are either electricians or have a good friend who is one. Civr was very responsive when we mentioned we wish we had a couple of kitchen items...they brought them to us (brand new) within 20 minutes!

My family was so pleased with this rental in Catalina. It was immaculately clean and organized and was stocked with everything we needed; Towels, extra sheets, dishes, condiments and beach toys. We discovered games in one cupboard and Tv's in every room. The washer and dryer made washing our towels easy throughout the week and the location was perfect. We were a few short blocks from everything and we able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The house has 2 bedrooms downstairs with queen beds and beautiful decor. Porcelain sinks have colorful fish painted on them and the kitchen had everything we needed except a potato peeler. The Master bedroom and upstairs living area were beautiful with a balcony area that opened to the outside seating area. We Bbq'd one night with the gas grill that was provided and really enjoyed this home. My family had fun discovering all the cute decor items such as a ukulele on a wall and many Hawaiian items throughout the home. There was even a cookie jar of Eric's Restaurant that is on the pier in Catalina. The rental staff was helpful and friendly and we had no problems with anything! We will be back again for sure.

Great place for a family. Owners did a nice job making this rental feel like home away from home - with all of the amenities. We'll be back every year...and I won't bother looking at any other rentals on the island because I don't believe there is one as nice and convenient and comfortable.

Huntington BeachWe had a great time.
Left on 09/06/2012 for a stay in August 2012
Our only complaint was that the house was advertised as sleeping 8 but for 2 people that meant a sofa bed which was so uncomfortable only one person could sleep on it (not pulled out to make a bed). We did not need the extra space because we had rented an infant bed but if you are planning on using it for a full size person it is not good.
The house is in a good location within walking distance of just about everything. It was clean and an all around good house. -

We stayed at 310 Claressa and absolutely loved it! The house was awesome. We Bbq'd, sat on the deck, took a Jaccuzzi bath. What a great house. It is also decorated so lovely. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Los AngelesBest place we've ever stayed
Left on 06/01/2012 for a stay in May 2012
We've stayed in a lot of Catalina rentals, and 310 Claressa is easily the best. It's clean, quiet, comfortable, well equipped and everything works. Furthermore, it is ideal for entertaining and we are very sociable people. This was our second stay in this property and at the end of the stay we put down a deposit for this same property for next year.

Irvine, CAGreat location!!
Left on 12/09/2010 for a stay in November 2010
This house was exactly what we needed!! It was in a great location and spacious enough for three couples. I happened to have the master bedroom which was wonderful but the other bedrooms were just fine and our friends seemed to enjoy them. The kitchen had ample space to cook and the place was nice and clean. We would definitely rent again.

Thousand Oaks, CALovely House
Left on 10/04/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Rented the house for a long weekend for an anuual girls get together. Good things about the house: close enough to walk to the main street, beautiful southwestern decor, plenty of bedrooms, nice upper deck for entertaining, washer/dryer, intercom system (which came in handy for the 2 floors), nice kitchen with counter for sitting on bar stools. Things that could be improved: had to call to have bbq fixed, bought wine glasses as those in house were acrylic and warped (left them there for the next renters), very few kitchen towels/wash clothes (I had brought an extra roll of paper towels so that helped) and we did wash a couple of times; the smoke alarm went off at 2:15 in the morning, so had to figure out what it was and remove the battery, not a lot of serving dishes if you are cooking at home, no golf cart, no cd player as indicated was available. All in all, we enjoyed the house and had good stay and would rent it again. Not experienced in renting, next time I would ask more questions or ensure what is needed is available before arrival (i.e., bbq works, cd player actually there, wine glasses available, etc.)

Happy Vacationer
Los AngelesPerfect fit for all ages
Left on 08/06/2009 for a stay in July 2009
This house was a comfortable, perfect fit for five adults one 5 year old and 2
18 month olds. It had spacious rooms with a bonus family room upstairs
leading out to a patio that caught the sea breezes in the evening when
BBQing. Kitchen was adequately equipped. The extra side entrance to the
downstairs bathroom with a hose outside made it easy to leave the sand kids
brought home from the beach outside. The house is more attractive inside
than I expected from the outside. Being on Claressa put more traffic on the
road than other streets but we were never bothered by noise.
Catalina Island Vacation Rental was instantly responsive with helping us deal
with heaps of luggage before check in time and teaching us how to use the
BBQ. They even found and sent my credit card back in priority mail that I
inadvertently left with them. We rented baby gear locally also. Great stay

It's a lovely home, especially the upstairs where there is the master bedroom (with a great bathroom), a sitting area with TV that opens to a good size balcony with grill/sink, etc. House has internet (cable not wireless). I go to Avalon every year in March for the Catalina Marathon and our club rents several houses so we've stayed in close to 15 different rentals on the island. This is definitely one of the nicer homes.

Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in April 2008
We had a pipe burst on Saturday mornign and ruined our plans for the first half of our day. Being that we were only staying the weekend it was kind of a big deal. By the time we got a hold of someone and then moving to another house with a baby was a major hassle.

Santa Cruz, CALovely decor
Left on 01/21/2009 for a stay in September 2008
The house is very nicely decorated. It was large enough for three couples to share. The one definite problem I noticed was the jacuzzi tub. When the jets turned on, all kinds of black yuck sprayed out into the water. The floors were clean, but not mopped and my 10-month-old daughter's pants turned black from crawling on them.
While it seems to be a theme in Santa Catalina, renting a house, in general, seems to be absurdly expensive. For this reason, if we ever visit again, I think I'd look for a place with a few more hotel-ish kind of perks, like having the bed made daily. Actually, I don't think we'd visit again. While it's lovely, the main part of the island is overrun with those nasty little gas-powered golf-carts (not included with this rental, fortunately) and most of the restaurant food was lousy. I'd rather travel somewhere else and stay in a quaint bed and breakfast for a fraction of the cost.

San Mateo, CaliforniaClub 180 goes Island hoping again.
Left on 01/10/2009 for a stay in April 2008
Our travel group of 4 couples stayed here for 4 days in April of 2008.
We found the house to be well equiped, comfortable and convenient to the activities and ammenities of Avalon.
The bathrooms and bedrooms were attractive, clean, well decorated and comfortable.
The only improvements that would have made our stay any better would have been a handicap ramp at the back bedroom door since one of us was handicapped and the two stairs made entry and exit a challenge. The other improvement would be replacing the chairs on the upper deck as a couple of these were not safely useable.
Other than those two things, this house was perfect for us and we would stay there again and recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Avalon in a fully equiped house in a great location.

Long Beach, CANice house, nice location
Left on 01/09/2009 for a stay in August 2008
This was our second stay at 310 Claressa - both times with another
family. At 8 people, the house was definitely full but still comfortable.
The location is great if you want to be near the waterfront, but far
enough away to be out of the "traffic". Just a peek-a-boo view from
the 2nd floor patio - which is the best feature of the house! We used
it constantly. Having said that, we were disappointed on our 2nd stay
that the big round table on the patio was missing because that is
where we ate all our dinners. The rental staff tried to find a
replacement but couldn't, I guess. So we schlepped a smaller table up
the stairs to make do. That made us short on seating overall
downstairs. It sounds like a small point, but I would really make sure
there is enough dinner seating for your group!
Other than that, we really enjoy this house. You don't even really
need a golf cart, it's so close to everything.

Los AngelesGreat location - well appointed property
Left on 01/08/2009 for a stay in January 2009
A very well appointed house with some great extra touches (TV's in a couple of the bedrooms, cable/DVD players for both living room TVs, extra pillows and blankets in bedrooms, well decorated) and the extra upstairs sitting room worked great with our family (Kids could play upstairs while adults ate). One long stone stairway though could be an issue with small kids (we blocked it off with a chair for our two-year old). Great upstairs balcony and barbecue area. The one downside was the upstairs sofa bed - it was half broken and incredibly uncomfortable (we couldn't sleep on it and had to put the mattress on the floor). If I was renting w/8 people in the house as we had I'd ask them to fix it.

I love Catalina and enjoyed my stay this year, however, unless they clean up the ocean water, I will not be able to stay again. I was on the island for a week the end of September and there was not one day that was safe to swim in the water. Every day the sign was up that the water was unhealthy.
