      Misleading 4th bedroom

Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012

This place is a little run down. The sink in the upstairs bathroom did not work. The place really just needed a little TLC. My biggest complaint would be that the place is advertised as a 4 bedroom. The "4th" bedroom is hardly a room and shouldn't be called one. It is a converted office or maybe a pantry that they are claiming to be a bedroom. It barely fits a bunkbed. We had 4 couples planning to stay in each of the bedrooms. one of the couples chose to stay elsewhere because the room was so small. It totally changed our experience and made trip more expensive.

      Awesome staff vacation

Left on 07/26/2012 for a stay in June 2012

Our staff was so excited about the idea of a trip to Catalina, husbands and babies included as a game. We got our statistic and we indeed took our staff to Catalina. Our 3 day trip was perfect in every way! There were 10 of us and 2 infants we all fit perfectly and had plenty of room especially since we had a lovely patio on which to hang out, barbaque and watch the sun go down. The house is quiet, being on the hill, and perfect for a good nights sleep :) We will be coming back and requesting this exact house!

      Great House

Left on 09/06/2011 for a stay in September 2011

We always spend Labor Day week in Catalina and have stayed at many place and this place was by far our favorite. Positives-Great Kitchen opens to Back Patio with BBQ,Table with umbrella and lots of Chairs. Washer and Dryer also off the back porch. Living area had great sitting and had a new Flat screen TV abd DVD player. The neighborhhod is very quiet, no golf carts ripping up and down the streets in the early am or late pm like on the flats. Unit is up a hill which allows for great breeze and lots of windows can be opened. 3 of the bedrooms were nice with comfortable beds. The 4th room with 2 bunks is really not a bedroom, is probably a small office. I understand they are trying to maximize beds in the unit but our teeneagers slept on the floor as
the felt to cramped in the room. The driveway to park the Golf Cart is a challenge but not terrible and it has a golf cart which is a big plus for us. We hope to return to this very house next year and highly recommend it. Civr office was courteous and nice when dealing with them. Had 1 issue on check in. Broken blender, they brought us a new one in 30 minutes !!!

      Enjoyable

Left on 08/25/2011 for a stay in July 2011

I loved the house with all the space for sleeping. The kitchen was a nice size. I would recommend a shower go into the downstairs bathroom, as with a total of 10 people, the only shower with teenagers and adults was hard. I would also recommend a better place to park the golf cart as it was very hard to get in and out of that small driveway. Otherwise, the view was amazing and very quiet. I usually stay in town and the noise is bad at times, so I enjoyed being higher with less traffic.

      Wonderful!!!

Left on 08/02/2010 for a stay in July 2010

Wow! This house is amazing. It is expensive, yes... But the views you get from this property, plus the golf cart use, and the huge yard, and front porch with a view as welll... it was so worth it...

I have spent a week, every july, for the past 28 years with my family in Catalina. This year my husband and I got a house for our family and friends to enjoy (my other family memebers had two rental houses down on Clarissa). We were hesitant to spend the money and kinda bummed that it ended up being so much with the bed tax that avalon charges - however, as soon as we got to the house, saw the cart, saw the yard and then saw the views, we both looked at each other and smiled. we both agreed that it was sooo worth it.. my husband is not the 'lay on the beach' kinda guy... so for him, this house was perfect. he could lounge around, maybe watch tv, drink some wine, and enjoy the amazing view of the harbor, all from the living room.

the room with the bunk beds is quite small... kinda like a closet... but who cares! the other rooms were fine. we had a couple sleep on the futon couch and were perfectly comfortable... the teenagers slept upstairs, and my husband and i and our baby took the other bedroom upstairs.

one night we had the whole family (25 people approx) over for a bbq in our backyard - we had a blast! none of the other houses we have ever rented in avalon had anything close to a yard! this was amazing!

we had a great vacation! i would highly recommend this house! we will definitly rent it again!

      Really a three bedroom...

Left on 01/08/2009 for a stay in August 2008

This house was really a three bedroom. The fourth bedroom is the size of a large closet with one small window that opens over the outside trash cans. There is no dresser, or even room to put one's suit case. Fortunatly, it was just my immediate family so I put my daughters in one room and we did not use the "fourth bedroom." Otherwise it was fine.

      Nice House

Left on 01/08/2009 for a stay in September 2007

This is a wonderful house. We got married in Catalina, so we had alot of people there. it has a nice size yard with 2 BBQ. the only problem was that its at the top of the hill.
But if you dont mind the hike, its nice.
