This well cared for vacation home is the lower half of a duplex located approximately 2 1/2 blocks from the green Pleasure Pier and downtown Avalon. It is a one level home with three bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths. The first bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has two sets of bunk beds, the third bedroom has a queen bed, and the living room has a double sofa sleeper. In addition to wireless internet, you will find a very well-equipped kitchen with a large family dining table next to the kitchen. The living room has a 37-inch flat panel TV and a DVD player. No smoking, please.

This house was perfect for our needs. We had four kids and four adults and we all slept soundly and had a seat at the dining table.
The bathroom and kitchen are newer with nice appliances
There is a grill, a wagon, lots of towels, and books and games provided. Having a house really made our stay because we were close to everything but could go relax and have a break and cook our meals which saved a lot of money. We will be coming back again! -

I was pleasantly surprised that the rental was fully outfitted for any need we had. We could have walked in with the clothes on our backs and been comfortable. Charming and comfortable. Highly recommend.

My family stayed here for the last two nights of summer before going back to school. We had a really nice time. This was our first time staying in a rental, as we have stayed in hotels in the past. The rental worked out better for us financially because we are a family of 5 (3 teenagers) and my in-laws came with us, make it a family of 7 - which would have meant three hotel rooms. The kids shared the bunk room and my in-laws in the front room and my husband and I in the back. The layout was nice, a lot of space. The location was great! My father in law is 80, so location was very important to us. The property was clean and very simple. Perfect for a family. We had a really nice time, we ate out for the most part. It was nice to have a full size fridge for cold drinks (purchased at the local Vons) and other snack type items. The property has everything you would need to prepare meals, we just chose not to. Check in/out went very smooth. Overall, was a very nice time for us! We will be doing this again!

We have stayed in this unit every summer for 30+ years. It is comfortable and roomy. The fact that the owners completely remodeled the bathroom a year ago really is a plus. They also delivered a new sofabed (for the living room) this year. Next up: Hopefully they will install a washer/dryer!

When I arrived on Tuesday morning, I was very happy that we were able to check in early.
At that time I tried to arrange to have the sheets changed on Friday.
I was told I needed to call the office on Wednesday.
I did call the office on Wednesday and requested the sheets be changed on Friday - I was given an "ok".
But no one came, the sheets were not changed. -

we would love the pull out couch to be changed. It is horrible to sleep on. we have been coming to Catalina for 38 years, missing 1974, child hospitalized, and 1994 the earthquake, extensive damage to our home.

My family and I rented the lower unit at 316 Catalina Ave. We enjoyed our stay. The house was large and had the perfect rooms for an extended family. The kids enjoyed the room with bunks while each adult had a private room. The kitchen had ample space but was alittle dirty. The living room furniture was old but comfortable. As a vacation beach house, we were pleasantly surprised by the rental and pleased with its price. We will be back.

We stayed at this house and had a fantastic time. The room set up was perfect for the group of 7 that we were. Everything was walking distance from the house. The house came with a wagon which was great for toting our beach stuff and kids around. The kitchen was greatly stocked with all the pots and pans we needed. We found the house in great condition and it was very clean. My only complaint was that there were not screens on all the windows so we did get some bugs inside in the evening. The rental staff was great and very helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone intersted.

This house is a very convenient location, and can sleep eight people. Even better, it has a table where all eight people can sit down for dinner together. It has a decent amount of space, nice flat screen TV.
For the money, though, this house needs some basic updating. For starters, it looks like the interior was last painted in the 1970s- the walls, woodwork, etc look dirty and beat up. There is no dishwasher- which is a major consideration in a house that holds eight people. There are no screens in any of the windows- so you have to leave the windows wide open at night which seems like a basic security issue. -

The location and size of this house meets the needs of our family perfectly. We have stayed in his house 4 years in a row on marathon weekend and we plan to rent it again next year. The sleeping configuration meets all of our needs and it's an easy walk to wherever you like to go in Avalon.

Vacation Rental team provided excellent service in booking the rental and the rental itself provided everything we needed and met all of our needs - Catalina itself was a trip of memories for me and a new adventure for one of my companions - definitely recommend it as a get away destination and the use of a home made it all the more comfortable -

We were pleasently surprised at how nicely this unit meet our needs. The entire island is small and compact and so is this unit. We had 4 adults and 4 kids and everyone had enough room - even with 1 1/2 bathrooms.
The double bunk beds in the one bedroom made the biggest difference, along with the large kitchen table.
This unit had everything we needed in the kitchen - lots of left overs from former guests.
Kudos to the owner for making the best choices when converting the unit to accomodate everything a renter would need to stay here.
