Wow ! Great Home plus a putting green ! It was sure fun to stay in this newer home vs. a condo or hotel...for about the same price! Very comfortable and we loved the "off-the-beaten" path location. Just a few minutes to the beach and shops, restaurants. Owners paid great attention to make our stay easy & comfortable. We will mae this and annual spot!

Just got back from our stay 8/24/12-8/27/12 and have nothing but positive things to say about this condo. We loved the attention to detail with the decor, the putting green was fun too:)
There are many places to stay on Catalina but none will impress like this jewel on the corner of Clemente and Tremont. We plan on making this a summer tradition, so please if you do decide to stay here take good care of this condo because it holds a special meaning to my family.
On a side note Randy made the booking very easy and payment was a breeze through paypal, thanks Randy!

Just a short walk from the beach, all the shops & everything you would want to be close to. It was the perfect double date house. I wish we had more time to enjoy it! Just stayed for the weekend, I think 3 days would have been perfect. Highly recommend this place over a hotel!

Loved our stay here. Easy to arrange with Randy, clean, well-furnished house, short walk from beach, pier, restaurants. Kids loved the putting green. Mom loved big fridge and well appointed kitchen. Dad loved flat screens and wifi!

This place was a dream for my girl and I. It is spacious, clean as can be, squared away in every way, and a total haven. We loved the jacuzzi tub and spent most of one night in it together. The 3 levels are great as you can separate if you need to. The light is fantastic with lots of glass. I liked everything about this place. It is classy and a good value for the $. I recommend all day rentals of electric bikes and the couples massage deals at Catalina Canyon Resort Spa, run by Helen...who is a fantastic masseuse. The lattes at CC Galeghers, served in a bowl were memorable as well as the chocolate lava dome and the fish at the Lobster Trap.

We were able to rent the house on relatively short notice, and we stayed only 2 nights for a quick holiday getaway. We felt like we got a good deal on the nightly rate but the $80 cleaning fee added substantially to the cost of our lodging for 2 nights. The owner was very accommodating and let us check-in early and check-out late. It had a full kitchen with a cute breakfast nook on the 2nd floor. The master bedroom and bathroom on the 3rd floor were of a good comfortable size. Our 7 and 9 year old kids slept on the sofa bed on the 2nd floor. That mattress was not very comfortable but luckily our kids can sleep on anything. The house was an easy 10-min walk from the ferry with 2 roller bags + 2 kids and it was off the main street so it was very quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

I had not been to Catalina Island in probably 10 years, and my boyfriend had never been, so we decided to spend a couple of days there. This rental property was very well-suited to our mini-vacation. The only downside was how noisy the area is. I expected a quiet, peaceful respite, especially in mid-September when the general tourist season was over. However, it was incredibly noisy with gas-powered golf carts, people yelling at night, traffic & construction. The fact that there is no a/C in the rental house meant we could not close the windows (since it was still quite warm at night) to mitigate some of the noise.
But despite the noise, my boyfriend & I enjoyed our stay. The owner was very helpful, friendly & accommodating. He provided us with excellent options for transportation, dining, hiking, and other island activities. My boyfriend & I hiked all of the routes the owner suggested and we were able to find some quiet & scenic areas while doing so. Although the ocean water was cold, we also made a trip to the cove and snorkeled - it was so exciting to see all the beautiful fish!
The property itself was nice & very clean. You do have to climb the staircase in order to access the kitchen/lounge area (2nd floor) and the master bedroom (3rd floor), but we did not mind that feature. One late afternoon, while relaxing outside at the table by the putting green, we saw deer across the street in the open area. I would definitely recommend this property if you are considering vacationing on Catalina Island. -

I have been to Catalina numerous times with my family and this rental was by far the nicest and most luxurious place I have stayed. I decided to take my girlfriend over the Fourth of July and came across this property on Trip advisor and all the great reviews were right! It is very spacious with a great sized kitchen and living area and the master bedroom and bathroom are amazing. Having 3 levels is also nice and provides good separation should you wish to bring kids or a second couple. The decor is pleasing and the traditional Catalina murals on the walls are spectacular, also the "Tuscan Villa" vibe gives the feel that you are far far from the smoggy la area. The putting green and patio out front are a great use of space and perfect for hanging out and entertaining. Now that we have found this new rental we plan to return again and again!

We usually camp, but we decided to rent a place for our honeymoon stay on Catalina. I've used Vrbo a bunch of times to find great value and unique lodging.
This place was roomy enough for two, very clean and comfortable, and a good short walk to the beaches and shops, including our favorite breakfast place.
Multiple bathrooms and a well-appointed kitchen were a plus, as were extra pillows and blankets, and if there are any issues, the owner is just a phone call away.
Before you go: You might inquire about the fireplace being on since it was not on when we vacationed in July, if that is something which draws you. We felt the place was a bit small/not private enough for families/more than 2, but maybe we're just space hogs - so if you're 2 couples or a family, you might want to request additional pictures or a virtual tour/floor plan.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay! -

Our family of 4 vacations in avalon once a year. This will be our new vacation spot to stay. Well appointed and super clean, we enjoyed our stay tremendously. I love how the french doors open to the trees and hillside. We enjoyed the fireplace, the putting green and the large master bathroom also. The local residents were so welcoming and friendly. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

We stayed here for our fifth anniversary. The place was immaculate! Everything was perfect. Nice gas fireplace, great kitchen, new flat screen Tv's and even a putting green! Located a few blocks from the beach, and an easy walk to the ferry terminal.

This is a beautiful place. We were there with our two teenage boys and enjoyed it all! There are 3 levels to this home. The top floor is a comfortable master suite with a big jacuzzi tub. The middle floor has a full kitchen and eating area and and a living room that turned into the boy's bedroom. The bottom floor is a game room. The reason we gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was that the couch that turned into the pull out bed was not very comfortable. It was also pretty cold in the game room and we could not get much heat down there. But there were plenty of blankets to wrap up in to keep warm while watching movies. We had a great time there!

The moment we crossed the threshold into Vernazza, I was sure I heard Charlie say, "Guys, where are we?" These accommodations were unparalleled to any others we've ever experienced in a vacation rental. We knew from past experience that the Grisham family who own this home are among the best hosts in avalon. So we didn't think twice about renting their newest home when our needs outgrew their other two homes we had also rented for our extended family. The pictures posted simply don't do justice to the colorful ambience of this villa. It's elegant while being super comfy, playful, and whimsical; it's spaciously roomy and charmingly intimate at the same time; it's very romantic yet family friendly; it's well equipped providing everything needed for a relaxing escape from your norm! If you've ever fantasized about leaving it all behind or to become lost on an island, for a few days, this is the place to stay.
Only one con: due to the stairs leading to all sleeping accommodations, this rental wouldn't meet the safety or comfort needs of young children, some grandparents, or guests of any age unable to physically navigate stairs to the second level. -

We really enjoyed the beautiful accommodations, as well as the convenience of its location. Our son especially enjoyed having a "whole floor" to himself when he got to sleep on the sofa-bed in the living room! As we walked around the area we saw other rental properties, and very few looked like they came close to offering the value and quality of Vernazza.

My daughter was asked what she wanted to do for her 16th birthday and of all the choices we suggested she said she wanted to go to Catalina. We have been to Catalina numerous time and have rented a home each time. Typically we stay in Hamilton Cove but with teenagers we thought it would be more fun to be in the heart of avalon. I found this house and couldn't believe the rates that they were posting cause it just seemed to good to be true.
Randy, the owner hellpd me along the process to make it seamless and the house is even more beautiul than the pictures. It doesn't feel like a beach house because it is so beautifully and modernly decorated. My daughter and her girlfriend had the second floor and we were on the top floor which was ideal to give everyone their privacy.
We played on the putting green outside, cooked in the kitchen, enjoyed the game table downstairs...we enjoyed every part of this home. It's close to town and such an easy walk. We can't wait to go back! -

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this luxurious vacation rental. There were 4 adults and each couple enjoyed having our own floor. The home is decorated beautifully and is close to everything. We had fun practicing our putting on the putting green out front. We will definately come back and stay longer.

There's nothing not to love about this house. Everything in it is top of the line from TV's on every floor to the furnishings. It's a short walk to everything, including the beach. This was a great home to stay in with our 2 kids...lots of privacy in the master bedroom. We will stay again!

What a fabulous house! It was very clean and the decor and furniture was great! My kids loved the den/game room and they had tons of fun hangin' out there. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the convenience of being close to town. We cooked a lot of meals and the kitchen was fabulous for all our cooking needs. We will definitely be renting this property again very soon. It's comfortable with plenty of room. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and didn't want to leave. Thanks!!!!

EVERYTHING about this weekend getaway was amazing! We have rented another property from this owner before and as always, Mr. Grisham is professional and gives full attention to making his renters comfortable and happy! This particular unit felt almost like a "castle" to our family. We've rented one-bedroom units before in the past and they can be a challenge for a family of four. My boys (12 & 13) enjoyed sleeping on the middle floor and having their own space away from the parents. We utilized the bottom floor to play board games and cards or socialize with our islander friends. Having 2.5 bathrooms made cleaning up from a day at the beach or fishing much easier on the family. (No more racing to the bathroom first.)
I have been coming to the Island for over 35 years and have stayed in some homes that are unkept and pure rentals. This unit, along with his other property is upscale and lovely to stay at. It feels like someone's home. It is beautiful and clean and has all the amenities a family could need. The kitchen is immaculately clean and spacious! I enjoyed the DVD availability and the WiFi access.
We love the fact that the location is on the flats and you never have to take a taxi. Everything is walking distance from this property.
My favorite thing about the "castle" is the fact that it feels SO spacious having three floors. It gives the parents and kids their own space when needed and yet there is plenty of space to entertain together. The sad part for us is that we had to say "goodbye" to it and hope that everyone else loves and treasures this vacation rental as we have.
