Los AngelesBeautiful and luxurious!
Left on 05/08/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My husband and I stayed at this vacation rental and could not have had a better time! The unit is gorgeous, fully-functional, and down-right luxurious. The decor is impeccable (traditional/modern) and the unit has everything (fully functioning kitchen, great bathroom, fantastic balcony, BBQ, etc.). Flat screen TVs in the living room and bedroom (although we did not use them). I spent most of my time on the balcony which reminded me of being on the coast in Italy. The bed is obviously top of the line, which was appreciated greatly. Fluffy bathrobes. The golf cart was needed and appreciated. The resort itself has a number of amenities (pool, fitness center, playground, dock, etc.). I recommend bringing some groceries in since the local Vons is only okay and it is a shame not to make use of the kitchen: you won't get a better view to enjoy while eating! The owner also supplies some sporting equipment, games, and other recreational resources, which I plan to make use of next time! All in all, just wonderful.

Left on 03/20/2013 for a stay in March 2013
This condo was everything I expected and more. Rimas does an excellent job of photographing his nicely appointed and remodeled condo unit. The attention to detail in the unit is wonderful from the beautiful floors and stone walls to the brand new Kitchen aid appliances. The bottle of Proseco in the fridge upon arrival was truly a wonderful treat. I arrived with my husband and 6 year old son for just a two night getaway but could have stayed for a week. Not only is the condo beautiful and accomodating but the facilities at Hamilton Cove are top notch. We used the heated pool and hot tub on a cooler March. After the pool we looked for crabs and sea life in the tide pools located in front of the complex. We also hit the golf ball around the fully manicured 18 hole putting green. Rimas made himself available for any questions or issues that may have come up during our stay and wanted to make sure we have a wonderful experience. I don't want to forget about the perfect golf cart we had for our use. It was nice not having to smell the gas fumes of a gas powered cart and the option of having the sides down when we drove home on a chilly night was nice. I would recommend this condo to anyone looking to stay in Catalina

La Jolla, CAAmazing Place to Stay!
Left on 03/16/2013 for a stay in November 2012
This was the first time we rented on Catalina Island. It was such a good experience, we will never stay at a hotel again! Rimas is the most responsive, caring, owner. He takes pride in his property, which boasts only the highest quality furnishings, TV and appliances. I took my two kids (13 and 11) and the unit was perfect. Having 2 LCD TVs ensured that both kids could watch what they wanted. We were pleasantly surprised by the extensive DVD collections, although most titles were rated R. The Keurig coffee was a nice additional surprise. If you are coming for a quick weekend away this is the place to stay. The view is outstanding, and having a golf cart ensures that trips to town are a breeze. We will definitely come back here in the future! Thank you, Rimas.

If you are considering a weekend getaway, this is the place. Beautiful villa, beautiful view, beautiful island. I have used many rentals by owners and Mr. Butkys was by far the most thorough and easiest to deal with. The pictures don't do this place justice. It's much better in person. Thanks for a great weekend!!!

Left on 02/16/2013 for a stay in December 2012
The property at the condo complex was very nice, clean and quiet. Our condo itself was spectacular. Nicely kept with an awesome view. We stayed over New Year's and watched the fireworks from the mainland while out on the patio. Having the golf cart was a treat, making it easy to go to town in our own time. The bed was so comfortable, it was difficult to leave it. The condo was well-stocked with non perishables as well as all the kitchen amenities you could ever need. We had a very enjoyable, relaxing stay.

This is a great place to stay! Rimas was so very accommodating to us! Everything you see advertise in the ad underestimates the true visit! We have rented privately before but have always been disappointed but not here!! The pictures were exactly what the Villa looked like! It was so much fun to enjoy a well equipped kitchen, fabulous views and all of the amenities Hamilton Cove had to offer! Catalina was by far a great vacation and we do have to owe it to the villa we called "home" for a couple of days! Thank you again for allowing us to stay in your villa and we are looking forward to another visit soon!

My wife and I took our young son over the summer in august for a week.
Dealing with Rimas was simple, easy and reassuring. He provided detailed instructions which answered many questions. He was always available day and night. The only issue we had was a tripped circuit breaker. I called, he answered and we were back up and running.
The condo itself was immaculate. This is a unit where the pictures are more than accurate. Rimas does take pride in his unit and his rules and regulations allow for future guests to enjoy the luxury he has to offer. If you appreciate and respect the work put into this condo then this is a place for you.
The unit came well equipped and had all of the essentials we would have at home. We ate both at the property and in town. Rimas can direct you to the best food in town. We Bbq'd a couple of nights on the beach at sunset, which was unbelievable. The unit was very clean and the bedding, furniture etc was in excellent condition and of high quality.
The only negative I could see was the amount of steps to and from the unit. That being said, we are a very active family, so we actually enjoyed the routine of going up and down.
The pool/spa were great and were used daily by us. I have nothing but good to say about our week in this condo. We will be back for sure! -

The villa is mind-blowing. Everything from the view, the decor, the bed, to the coolest golf cart on the island was pretty incredible. To call it amazing would be an understatement. Rimas was an amazing host and was always easily accessible. He provided us with everything we needed. It was a shame to leave the villa to head into town.
I look forward to my next stay. -

This villa is amazing. "Feel the luxury" is right! Beautiful decor, super clean, outstanding views, luxurious bed linens, bath linens, top of the line appliances, and all the gear you'll need. Golf cart was awesome (be prepared for the compliments on it!).
This was our first time in Hamilton Cove and it was so relaxing and quiet. In the past we've stayed in avalon and were constantly being woken up in the middle of the night or early morning (late-night party people and pre-dawn trash trucks). Although we spent most of our time venturing around outside, it was so nice to have all the comforts when we got "home" to unit 1-66. In fact, I wouldn't mind visiting during a cold and stormy time, and just enjoying everything this unit has to offer in comfort and relaxation. When I come back to Catalina, this is the unit I want to stay in!

"Feel the Luxury" definitely describes our accomodations at Hamilton Cove, Villa 1-66. It was everything and more than we hoped for - it's more than just "comfortable", it's amazing!!! The owner goes above and beyond to ensure that you feel welcome and pleased with the villa. We totally enjoyed our stay and visit of Catalina Island and have highly recommended it to family and friends since our return. Not only was the accomodation perfect, the gorgeous views from the balcony are outstanding! P.S. The bed and pillows were extremely comfy and the view from the bed to the ocean is also amazing!!

My husband and I stayed here for our 5 year anniversary and we loved it. It was our first time visiting Catalina and we can’t wait to return. The villa was beautiful, modern, luxurious but yet really comfortable. The view from the balcony was spectacular. I wish I could wake up to it every morning. The owner Rimas was very accommodating and helpful with whatever we needed.
But please be aware that there are lots of stairs. But if you take your time, you’ll be just fine. This place is well worth the money. We are already planning to return in the next few months. -

There is so much to do at Hamilton Cove (great for our 2 kids). One of the best things is enjoying the ocean view from the balcony--you feel instantly relaxed!!! The owners were so helpful and always available for anything we might need. We definitely plan to come back!

Left on 02/28/2012 for a stay in February 2012
This last weekend my husband and I had the privilege of staying in this beautiful villa in Hamilton Cove. Upon arrival, we knew we were in for a treat. The kitchen is remodeled immaculately with a plethora of spices and cookware which allowed us to make all of our meals from the comfort of our kitchen. The couch and bed were beyond comfortable and made sleeping a dream. And of course, the view is unlike anything we have ever experienced before. With complete 180 degree views of the ocean, we spent about 90% of our time out here taking in the serenity of the ocean and appreciating all of the wildlife literally in our backyard (bald eagles, seals, even whales!). Last, the electronic golf cart was extremely convenient getting to and from town and traveling to the many amenities Hamiliton Cove has to offer (spa, pool, put-put course, and tennis courts). It was the small touches (comfy robes and slippers, welcome bottle of wine, spa toiletries, etc.) that made this place so special to us. We will definitely be returning!

West Hollywod, CAHoneymoon Serenity
Left on 12/19/2011 for a stay in December 2011
We have just returned from our honeymoon at this luxurious Hamilton Cove vila and could not have been happier. From the first moment we booked, the owners treated us like royalty. Very attentive and very caring. We arrived on a Monday in December, and it was a little rainy and gloomy, but that didn't take away a thing from the luxury. Upon entering the villa, it was immediately clear that this condo was remodeld with extra care. The wood flooring is beautiful and the appliances are TO DIE FOR. Cooking in this kitchen felt like a cooking show! Everything came out quicker and more perfect than we have ever cooked before! The bedding and robes were 4 star hotel quality and the bed is SO COMFORTABLE.
The super chic red golf cart is so fin and clearly the nicest one on the island. Charging it is super easy and, if you need extra charge, you can charge it at City Hall in town.
As far as the island, we were absolutely enamored and plan to visit again very soon. We are a gay couple on our honeymoon, and we definitely noticed that the locals seemed fascinated by us, but they were very friendly, for the most part. We recomend the clam chowder at The Lobster Trap, fish taco's at Eric's on the pier, coffee in the Metropole mall but most of all, hit the Von's in town, stock up on groceries and cook on the amazing grill and in the fantastic kitchen in the villa.
Also, we loved the mini bowling at Three Palms arcade, miniature golf in town, the semi-submersive submarine tour, botanical gardens, and my personal favorite, the Casino tour. Also, GO SEE A MOVIE at The Casino Theatre. It's a once in a lifetime cinematic experience, and Friday and Saturday, show up early to hear the organ play!!

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Hamilton Cove. The condo is outstanding, and provides a beautiful view of the bay and ocean. My wife and I stayed for 5 days, and our son and his wife joined us over the weekend. The inflatable convertible sofa bed is just as good as advertised. The electric cart is a great addition, we used it all the time. Overall, a wonderful experience.

Left on 08/14/2011 for a stay in March 2011
A beautiful view, serene surroundings and comfortable amenities...everything and more! This beautiful condo is accurately described and the owner was always accessible and extremely kind. All details are thought of to make your stay as welcoming as possible. A nice California wine bottle sits at the front entry; plenty of coffee to start your day and access to a personal golf cart to get around town. There were also plenty of board games, DVD videos, wi-fi and and computer access.
This complex has a lot of stairs. If you don't mind the physical challenge of a great cardio workout while coming and going from this condo, you might want to look elsewhere. Also, I had limited cell phone access while in the condo. I think the hill blocks the signal. Once you start going towards town your reception improves. The condo does have a landline if you need to use the phone.
Overall it was a peaceful, beautiful and lovely stay. I'd love to return! -

It was nothing short of fabulous. The golf cart made everything in town easily accessible. We had a fun night at Luau Larry's. We did the zipline. We shopped, we ate and we had a fantastic weekend getaway. I highly recommend this condo. Note: Yes, a lot of stairs, but manageable if you are in reasonably good health. I'm 50+, don't exercise and was able to manage the stairs.

Lakeside, CABeautiful condo with an amazing view!
Left on 06/05/2011 for a stay in June 2011
After the wedding of our daughter we were looking for a quiet place to unwind. The condo is really lovely with all the basics you need in the kitchen, cable, and comfortable furnishings. There is a Vons in town so you can buy your groceries.
You will definitely want to bring your camera, the view is spectacular. We watched parasailers, kayakers, and jetskiers. The road up to Hamilton Cove takes you right past the Zipline so this offer some entertainment as well.
A nice amenity is the golf cart. It enabled us to get around town and have the freedom to come and go as we liked. After we saw the price of gas on the island ($6.55 reg. unleaded) we were very glad it was an electric cart. If you were to rent a cart, it would be gas powered for about $45 per hour.
During our stay we didn't have any neighbors. I would say there was about 50% vacancy (judging by the lights at night) throughout the complex, so it was very quiet.
The only negative is all the stairs (87 going down and 114 going up), but it didn't slow us down much.
Rimas was very easy to work with. Thank you for a wonderful get-away. We will be back!

I cannot say enough about this condo...my husband and I went to Catalina to get married and staying here made it so great! First of all, the condo is amazing and they have decorated is beautifully. They include all the amenities that you would need. It was so nice to sit on the back deck to and look out at the amazing views too. Another great thing is that they include a golf cart while you are there. It is so much fun to be able to get in the cart and go to town and also explore some of the island too. It was a really nice perk to have. Rimas the owner is also very hands on and helped us out before and during our stay. He was able to recommend to good places to hike, shop and eat while we were there. Even though he was on the mainland, it seemed like he was right there to answer questions when needed. I would highly recommend staying here. We hope to be back soon!

Left on 04/09/2011 for a stay in April 2011
This was a perfect mother-daughter getaway. We had breakfast each morning on the veranda overlooking the ocean, and we saw dolphins nearly every day -- it was a world away from our normal routine in atlanta. The beds (even the sofabed) were pillowy and comfortable. I enjoy cooking, but I don't often have time at home because of my job. The kitchen was a joy to cook in--well furnished and quite nice. Having a golfcart allowed us to get around easily in town and do all the fun things we enjoy (shopping, zip-lining, and hiking). At the end of the day, my 15-year-old appreciated the computer workstation and Internet access so she could stay in touch with her friends (Facebook) and share pictures from each day. I enjoyed the luxureous bathtub where I could relax and soak in a bubblebath. There are a lot of stairs (down to the pool and ocean), but for us it was good because otherwise we would have gained a lot of weight given that we were eating in vacation mode and needed the exercise. One last thing: the owner, Rimas, was available to answer our questions and give us advice on where to eat, things to do (in a nice way, not intrusive at all). Without a doubt, we will return.

Hamilton Cove's villa 1-66 is a true gem! This one bedroom condo is relaxing, peaceful, clean and has so many amenities, including the best one of them all: a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean! It's better than any 4-star hotel I've ever stayed in. The owner is very accessible and really tries to go the extra mile by paying attention to the fine details. He answers any and all of your questions in a very quick amount of time. Talk about customer service!!
The owner renovated the condo with all beautiful and exquisite upgrades: hand carved mahogany wood floors, 15th century limestone walls, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, 2 Hdtv's; as well as access to a computer, high-powered binoculars and personal golf cart for exploring Catalina.
The balcony overlooks the cove and out into the Pacific Ocean. During our visit I could see a school of dolphins and could hear sea lions barking. I witnessed a beautiful sunrise every morning.
During our stay, it was Catalina's slow season, which was fine with me. I had the opportunity to go to all the restaurants and activities I wanted to try.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hamilton Cove on Catalina Island. Villa 1-66 lived up to and surpassed my expectations!! -

If you think the photos of this unit are beautiful, prepare to be impressed in person. It's a beautiful unit with incredible attention to detail. The flooring, the stonework, the linens, the electronics and appliances, it's all great. Compared to what you might find at some avalon hotels, this place feels like a spectacular value.
The view is as good as you'll get anywhere in Catalina. Lovely balcony. Great kitchen.
The place is spotless. The woman that cleans the unit actually flagged us down in town to make sure the place was ok! She identified us by the golf cart that comes with the unit (it is a distinctive little ride).
I find driving the short trip back and forth to town in the golf cart a lot of fun. You can certainly walk, it's not that far, but it's not along the ocean. You have to walk the road and pick up the ocean-front path down by Descanso Beach.
I would point out that there are a lot of stairs at Hamilton Cove. Nothing but a little good exercise for most people, but be aware if you think you'd have physical difficulty with stairs.
Staying at a condo can really change the avalon experience. It's easy to just hang out at the condo, reading or watching the ocean.
The condo owner is very attentive by phone and email. You will have no problems whatsoever. I encourage you to speak with him by phone before going, he's very helpful.
As an example, I had mentioned offhand that the other two scheduled to come with us had cancelled. The owner refunded the additional $20 per extra adult normally charged. It just showed up as a refund the day after I got back.
I can't recommend this place enough. -

The condo was gorgeous and impeccable. We felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel, like a Westin. I looked at many other condos in the complex and this condo is by far the most modern and luxurious. Every aspect, from the bedding and towels to the kitchen appliances and furniture was excellent. But, my very favorite part of our experience was dealing with the owner Rimas. He was at our service the entire stay and the weeks leading up to the stay. He sent me information about where to dine and what activities to do. He coordinated flowers being delivered to our room and called us at the condo to ensure that all was well. The condo is stocked with everything you need like beach towels, tennis rackets, golf putter for putting green, and best of all came with a great golf cart! I would highly recommend this condo to any of my friends or family.

Rimas was absolutely gracious from questions before booking through our departure. His recommendations for amusement and dining were perfect for us. The villa was superb in every detail. The staff-our greeter- was lovely. Love the view, bedding, amenities and cleanliness of kitchen/bath. 'Pandora' on TV was a nice bonus. Our grown sons did fine the comfy pull-out. We dangled our feet in the hot tub but too chicken to bare down to swim suits for pool. But both areas were clean & were extremely tempting in spite of the chill. The red 'buggy' is a real 'looker'! The comments people made as we carted thru the village were quite amusing. We enjoyed a round of golf on the mini greens but ran out of time for croquet so we need to come back :) Thanks for making our anniversary fabulous, Rimas.

I surprised my girlfriend on her birthday with a trip out to avalon, and we feel so lucky to have been able to stay at Hamilton Cove. It was more beautiful than we could have imagined, reminiscent of a Mediterranean Villa, complete with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and California coastline. Rimas is a very accommodating host, providing us with several recommendations for dining and activities, which was very helpful for first time visitors to Catalina. The golf cart was a nice luxury as well since renting one is expensive (I think it was $30-$40/hr).
All in all, we can't wait to have the opportunity to head back to avalon, and I don't foresee us staying anywhere other than Hamilton Cove. -

We found the condo to be wonderful. It was well presented in teh pictures and narrative on it's website. Check-in was smooth and we mainly stayed at the condo sleeping in and getting some rest. We used the cart to go to Vons for some steaks, wine and some small supplies.
We used the BBQ one night. We used the wireless Internet and the computer for a little bit of communications. Our cell did not work at the cove.
This was a great getaway and we can't stress how happy we are. -

Husbands review:
I loved to wake up and have coffee to a killer view of the ocean and Hamilton cove. We stayed there for a few days which gave us time to be out and about town and/or just stay in cook food and watch TV or a movie. And I have to say that the owners of this place make sure that you are never without...anything. Impeccably designed, it felt like a much fancier place than I am used to, the grill on the deck was perfect . A great selection of movies, the picture quality of the big led HD TVs had me in awe such quality and depth even the commercials were amazing to watch on that thing. I even loved the couch! (the couch? go figure I know) but that couch was so unbelievably comfortable my wife and I just melted into it. That couch has ruined me for my own. I look at my couch w/disdain now because I yearn for the couch that I fell in love with while I was on vacation in 1-66..yes, I hate my couch now. The coffee maker was one of those single serve kind which I really liked. And having wine on the deck with my wife as the giant moon glimmered off the ocean was a truly magical moment that will imprint Hamilton cove in my memory for a lifetime. It made our anniversary a much more special time...we'll definitely be returning, I highly recommend.

This condo is not only beautiful; but the owners have thought of everything you need! They spared no expense as seen in the stonework, granite, mahogany, state of the art appliances and audio/visual. The bed is the most comfortable I've ever slept on. The views are spectacular, the location perfect. I cannot think of a way to improve these accomodations. It's the perfect place for romance and relaxation!

San Diego, CAPerfect for a weekend getaway

The condo was just as beautiful as the pictures on the website. It was very clean inside and outside. The appliances, decor and fixtures were very nice. The condo is spacious for 2 people and the bed and couch were also quite comfortable. Sleeping and waking up to the sound of the ocean was a special treat. For the most part the community is pretty quiet---even in the day---so you can hear the waves crashing if you listen hard enough. That was nice and relaxing. We did not use the kitchen much other than to store food and drinks so I can't review the kitchen appliances but I can say that everything we needed that weekend was there---cups, mugs, wine glasses, corkscrew, utencils and small plates. I had a great weekend and I would consider going back for another short weekend trip. Thanks.

Why go to Greece when Hamilton Cove is so close? This place rivals the Greek Isles. Majestic views, wonderful accomadations. Specifically, # 1-66 in the Hamilton Cove Villas is outstanding. Everything you want is here. Great ambience, well appointed condo, it all works. This is a great place to escape. You can't go wrong with this rental.

We just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay at Hamilton Cove, Catalina. The unit was spectacular. Clean, modern, comfortable beds, flat screen Tv's use of a computer, double dishwasher, modern appliances. The solar/electric golf cart was admired wherever we went. The view was incredible. Our security deposit was returned the following day. I would definately return to this unit.

Left on 08/04/2010 for a stay in July 2010
As soon as we arrived in Hamilton Villa we were blown away by the beauty of this place. The condo was just tastefully renovated with high-end materials and appliances (unique stone in the kitchen and bathroom, granite countertops, etc.), super clean and had everything we needed. The best thing about this condo was a huge lanai with breathtaking views of the ocean and coastline. Golf car was included with the condo and it made easy to get around the island or just enjoy the experience. Definately recommend to people who want quality condo in the best location in Catalina.

We loved our stay at Hamilton Cove. This unit is beautiful and newly remodeled. It is a good size condo for a couple; and is beautifully furnished. We enjoyed the views immensely! Lots of attention was paid to every detail in the unit, and our host was extremely helpful and hospitable. He gave us lots of ideas for activities and dining on the island. We were grateful to have his beautiful new golf cart to cruise around in too. My only warning might be that there are over 100 steps up to this unit, (Or 88 if you hike down from the road) so pack light, and don't come if you have issues with hiking up stairs. We also wish there were more privacy on the balcony. We had neighbors on both sides of us, and the balcony is beautiful, but undivided between units. Other than that, we will hopefully be returning soon. It was a very lovely place to stay.

I don't usually write reviews but I was so impressed with where we stayed that I thought this would be a great time to start. My husband surprised me with a trip to Catalina and I was totally blown away when we walked into the place. It was amazing. I felt like I was vacationing in the Mediterranean in a five-star hotel. The decor was beautiful. The advertisement mentioned the stone imported from Italy, that was a good example of the beautiful details throughout. The views from this place are gorgeous and of course ultimately romantic. They had additional pluses I loved- an outdoor bbq grill (where we cooked a pizza), a Kuerig coffee maker (outstanding coffee), and an incredible led TV with a brilliant screen. Plus it was comes with a nice electric golf-cart. Smelling the strong gas fumes on most golf-carts ruins some of the fun of motoring around. I highly reccommend this place, like I said, it felt like a 5-star hotel but at a price that was affordable.
