I want to thank Chay and Corina at Civr for arranging our stay in Hamilton Cove Villa 8-84 this last weekend. We cannot stop talking about what a great time we had. We have 2 kids ages 13 and 10. The unit exceeded our expectations. The view was spectacular, we had plenty of space, plenty to keep us busy but overall it was super relaxing! We enjoyed the golf cart rides into town and took the Zipline tour of the island which was a blast. We had dinner on the balcony every night, played golf and loved snorkeling at the pebbly beach. We only wish we'd had more time. We are planning on going back this summer and staying in the same unit since the homeowner seemed to go out of her way to make us feel at home by leaving dvd's, a list HD channels, providing access to laundry and alot of other little touches. We are spoiled now! Thanks again to the Civr staff for working with us on such a short notice, being so professional and courteous and making this such memorable trip for our family.

This condo has everything you need to go on a wonderful getaway from reality. The condo complex has a spa, swimming pool, tennis courts, beach volleyball and much more. The golf cart seals the deal, because you can drive to go to dinner and enjoy the small town atmosphere of avalon. We love to scuba dive at Casino point and this was a nice way to enjoy the island.

This was a great trip. We only set off the fire alarm once ;). (The kitchen fan does not vent outside)
The front guard was very nice and we had some great conversations. The room is tiled and has a great decor. Unfortunately the inflatable bed was missing however that was fixed quickly. It appeared that the cleaning staff thought the couches were pullout (they are not).
The golf cart worked well. Unfortunately there are not many places you can get to on the island (no back country drives). Even though we were there over Christmas things were nice and not overly cold.
This room is a good value. It would be nice if there were a few kitchen staples; salt, pepper, oil etc. Ended up buying way too large quantities at Vons for our few days there.
ProTip when getting dropped off get dropped off up top. Much easier to carry bags down stairs vs up!
Also find the security office phone number so you can call and cancel the fire alarm quickly because it is hard to find in an emergency -

We stayed in Catalina 8-84 for 4 nights 5 days with our children. Being a native So Californian i had grown up going to Catalina, I wanted to introduce the island to my husband and children. What a terrific time we had, the beach was out our back door, water was clean, temperature was great. Everyone was so friendly on the island. Our condo was great, very spacious, clean, nice furnishings, appliances, TV, bedding, bathrooms. Plenty of bath towels. I do wish the kitchen was a tad more well appointed. There were only two towels, no paper towels, salt and pepper, sugar, tissue. Just simple things that would have been nice.It was great to have the golf cart. The resort itself was incredible, we will return every august! I love the nostalgic feel of Catalina, people walking everywhere, everyone so friendly, felt very safe. All kids should have the opportunity to stay on a safe, clean, happy island. We had 5 rambunctious boys between our two families and they played on the beach, snorkeling, crab catching, skimming rocks, diggings every day. Never once asked for any electronics!

We planned our trip to Catalina pretty quickly. Started looking in May for 2nd week of July. Searched the internet and found some options and sent an email to Civr to check on one of their listings. Chay responded right away and was so very helpful and quick with all her responses as we looked for the perfect rental.
We chose this unit and we were so incrediably happy with it's location, cleanliness and overall appearance. It has clearly been well taken care of and again, the locatin was perfect. Close to ocean, lower in the complex, and very close to the pool, work out room and croquet field.
Hamilton Cove is very well kept and just a beautiful developement. Very close to avalon via provided golf cart but still felt secluded from the summer crowds. While these condo's are a bit pricey compared to some of those in avalon, for us, it was well worth the higher price. This condo development is built on the side of a mountain, there are a lot of stairs involved for many of the rentals. Keep that in mind when picking a unit if mobility is an issue.
Everyone was so nice and easy to deal with, beginning with Chay! We Will definately stay at Hamilton Cove again and we will use Civr.
The only reason I gave this review 4 stars rather than 5 is because the golf cart included in the rental was a bit run down. We were never quite sure if we'd make it up the hill to Hamilton Cove (which became a running joke everytime) and the gasoline smell was pretty strong. Also the kitchen appliances were dated and if we were to stay a week or longer (we only stayed 3 nights), and chose to cook more there, that would have been an issue. But these really were minor details... over all it was great!!

We have been to Catalina many times and always wondered what it would be like to stay away from town in Hamilton Cove. We couldn't have been more pleased with this condo and all of it's amenities. The view was amazing, the condo was well equipped, and the golf cart was fun! We would highly recommend it and plan to visit again!

Our family came out for a relaxing long weekend! It was our first time to rent in Hamilton Cove and we absolutely picked the right rental for our family! It was truly amazing! The doors opened up to a beautiful view of the ocean and we were close to the pool and basketball courts which my boys took full advantage of. I would highly recommend this rental and I can already hear Catalina Island calling to me again!

Everything was comfortable and clean. The price was the only painful part of the trip. Quite expensive. Over $2,400 for two units for two nights. After we had decided to do it we learned of the additional cleaning fees and some other fee. I'd feel better if all of the fees were simply included in the price and then I wouldn't have felt so taken.

We actually stayed in to vacation rentals. One in Catalina and one in Hermosa Beach. Catalina was definitely the best experience. It did not seem like a tourist trap. It was a beautiful relaxed setting. Very private and a great location. It was right across the street from a little beach cove. It did have a lot of stairs but it was very clean and organized. It was a little removed from all the Catalina action but very accessible with the complimentary golf cart. We loved exploring the island in it! This was a beautiful relaxing trip that we will never forget and will hopefully repeat. Ideal!

The unit was very nice. Beautiful master bedroom with excellent views and a short walk to cove. The person I spoke with when making the reservation knew the units well and steered me in the right direction.
Service was good. Windows in guest bedroom did not open because of a broken part when we arrived. We called and someone arrived shortly thereafter and made the repair.
Loved the view and sound of ocean. Liked fitness center, but some equipment in need of repair. Great view.
Easy to get to Descanso Beach and into town by golf cart. -

Incredible views, beautiful condo. However, the week
we stayed was very hot and without air conditioning
and the ability to open windows, sleeping at night
was a real issue. However, it was a great place and
very comfortable for a family get away. -

We stayed at this condo for a week, and had a most wonderful time. The location is awesome, with great view of the ocean from the balcony. The condo was clean, had everything we needed and the golf cart was an added bonus. Both bedroooms are good size, and the master has french doors leading to the balcony. We will be back!!
