Huntington BeachAbsolutely wonderful!
Left on 05/15/2013 for a stay in April 2013
From the time we arrived it was perfect! My husband and I were celebrating our 24th wedding anniversary and had never been to Catalina. We arrived early, no problem, they had the villa ready. The gal at the front desk called us a cab to get us to the villa from the rental office, as well as called in dinner reservations for us with window seats at Steve's Steakhouse. Denni, the manager, greeted us as we were returning from having lunch on our first day there, wishing us a Happy anniversary and made sure everything was to our liking. Very personal touch!
Beautiful ocean view from the master bedroom and living area. The patio, overlooking the ocean and pool, was wonderful to sit and relax, play board games and have cocktails. There was a full kitchen and grill on the patio. The use of the golf cart was the greatest, we truly saw everything there was to see in avalon via the golf cart! The market had everything we needed for our stay, but we mostly ate out. Along with Steve's steakhouse, we went to the Pancake Cottage and antonio's Pizzeria and they were all fabulous! We were surprised that everything pretty much cost the same as it did at home.
We had a wonderful 2 day getaway! Thank you Civr! Definitely have recommended you to all of our friends! -

The place was very tastefully decorated and well appointed. The view and ocean sounds from our room was unparalleled. We never shut the doors to the patio until we went home. We made use of the pool and spa, just below us, and found tennis rackets should we want to go to the courts. We ate breakfast every morning at the patio table in the picture and watched the cruise ships come to port. There are a few flights of stairs, but they get you to one of the best views in Hamilton Cove. Brush up on golf cart driving before you go, that takes a little getting used to.

Left on 10/18/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We have stayed in this wonderful villa on our 2 trips to Catalina in October for JazzTrax festival, scuba diving and sea kayaking. The only reason I say "Probably recommend", it that the villa is now for sale by the owner. They have wonderful artwork and decor, adding tasteful character to their villa. There is all the cooking implements we needed and a gas grill. Hamilton Cove is meticulously maintained. We enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi, tennis and mini golf were fun. Our "neighbor" was catching fish off the dock below! I wish the recycling was more obvious at Hamilton Cove--never found it.

The gorgeous view overlooking the water is definitely the highlight of this villa. We also lived having the complimentary golf cart, so we were able to explore much of the island. The TV and furniture aren't the most modern, but that didn't matter to us. Everything was clean and looked like a nice beach home. We would definitely come back!

Left on 09/29/2012 for a stay in September 2012
We spent a weekend here for our 6th anniversary and loved it! The view of the ocean was great, and it was quiet and peaceful. The pool and hot tub were right below us with great view of the ocean as well. We also enjoyed having the golf cart to zip around town, which was only a short drive away. The rooms were clean and functional, although some things were a little outdated. The only downside was we shared a deck with others. Even though there were "dividers", a chair strategically placed and a small wire fence, there wasn't a lot of privacy. That being said, we didn't mind that much because there weren't many people out there and the neighbors we did meet were nice to chat with, but also let us alone to enjoy our anniversary.

Cudo's to Denni and Phil, Managers at Hamilton Cove. We had a little snaffu with the cleaning crew, after we checked in, but Denni and Phil jumped on it and made sure our issues were resolved before we could get unpacked. The unit was in a perfect location and neatly decorated. We were lucky during our stay to have perfect weather and very little overcast. I was able to watch the sun rise on 3 of our 4 night stay. Having access to the golf cart made the cost of the unit worth every penny. It was fun riding into town and around the island with no added cost.
The only problem I can complain about is the added cost of the cab ride from the port. When we arrived on Catalina Island, we had the taxi take us to the downtown office to pick up keys for the condo. The taxi fare doubled because the taxi driver had to wait five minutes for me to run into the office and pick up the keys.
I thought I was being gouged by the only cab ride in town. I later complained to the cab company and received a refund for my short wait time at the rental office. No one should have to go through a complaint for this service. I can understand a taxi having a customer on the meter for a long wait, but a simple in and out of 2-5 mins wait should not double the cab fare.

Left on 06/27/2012 for a stay in June 2012
My grand daughter and I escaped to my favorite place in the world for her high school graduation present. The condo was beautiful, the amenities of hot tub, pool, miniature golf and tennis courts were excellent entertainment for us. We were surrounded by so much beauty that the sporadic cell phone connection was hardly noticed. The added Zip Line adventure just down the road was another plus. 4 days was hardly enough to enjoy the ambiance and all the activities. It was an excellent girls get away!

Really enjoyed our stay for two nights! The apartment was super clean and everything was in tip top shape. We really enjoyed running around all over on the golf cart! Considering that the nightly rate included unlimited use of the cart, the pricing was great!

The view from our villa was absolutely breathtaking. It was extremely well equipped with facilities that made you feel completely at home. It was conviniently located near great spots such as Descanso Beach and the amazing avalon bay area. The whole experience was so awesome that we did not want to leave at all!

Left on 02/17/2011 for a stay in February 2011
We were originally slated to stay at another villa but last minute things fell through and we got villa 1-57. To say the least I was a little stressed out having to change plans but the second we opened the door to this villa it was all worth it. The decor was pretty and light and the view was the best you could get...overlooking the pool and the beach right in the center. Also we had a bottle of champagne welcoming us (which may have been for all the paperwork hassel for changing rentals or because it was Valentine's Day weekend...either way it was so appreciated and nice)! To top it all off when we got into the golf cart that comes with this rental we found it to be a brand new one and was very user friendly as we made our way into avalon (a short 10 minute scenic drive under zip lining cables and past Descanso Beach. We had an amazing trip and lived it up for the short time we were in Catalina and this villa definetly was a big factor in our enjoyment. Highly recommend 1-57!

We have stayed in HC more than 5 times. This is the first time we experienced any problems. The kitchen floor was dirty and the dishes were very dirty with dried rice and noodles in pots and dirty silverware. This was resolved cordially by refunding our cleaning deposit. Smokers next door caused smoke to drift into the room in the afternoon. Again management asked them to smoke further away from the room and the problem went away. The golf cart is a great plus. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

Left on 07/29/2010 for a stay in July 2010
The over all stay was wonderful. Hamilton Cove is the place to stay if you want to get away from avalon, have a relaxing and peaceful experience along with a fabulous view.
However there was a couple of glitches, when we got to the condo, the floors were dirty, the toilet had "the ring" and there was a smell that we finally located in the garbage disposal.
All of this was rectified and Vacation Rentals "made it right".
Having a golf cart, bbq and a deck with a beautiful view was priceless.
When I come back, I will be staying in Hamilton Cove -

LAThere was good and bad
Left on 01/13/2010 for a stay in November 2009
The unit was in great shape and was well appointed. I wish that more staples were in the kitchen for cooking, though. Normally when you stay in condos, other guests have left behind spices, oil, vinegar and other basics. There was nothing in this unit - forcing us to buy all of those things if we wanted to cook in the unit, which we did. And due to luggage restrictions, we of course had to leave it behind. It was an unwelcome expense.
We also experienced a malfunction of the fire alarm while we were there, which was a little harrowing, since I could not reach anyone who had any information for a while. Finally, a fellow guest told me that it's a semi-common occurrance. What's up with that?
Also inconvenient was the trek to the gas station, due to the lower road being closed. Someone needs to put some pressure on the local government to solve that problem.
Although the unit was beautiful, I'm not sure I would opt to stay in Hamilton again, just because of the lack of privacy if someone is staying in a unit next to yours. I mean, the balcony is stunning, but you're all too aware that you are sharing it with strangers.

San Jacinto CAI enjoyed the home, but had some issues.
Left on 10/22/2009 for a stay in October 2009
The good: Great views, very quiet and restful place, comfortable bed and couch, free local and long distance calling from unit.
The not so good: BBQ dirty, food in fridge from last tenant, food stuck on outside of fridge door. Unit very busy and cluttered, fake palm tree in walkway blocking path, no dresser in bedroom, shower needs caddy for shampoo etc, no place to put anything, outdoor patio cushions dirty and holding water inside. Wonderful plantation shutters however every time you swing them open a cloth valence drops in front and you can't close them easily. Unit had phone with free long distance however the number is blocked so when I tried to call home for messages, the Verizon call intercept feature I have would not allow the call to go through. Why block the number? No cell service (not their fault I know)
I realize that the property manager will probably say that I should have notified them if I had house keeping issues, however it is my feeling that it is not my responsibility to police their employees, that's what a manager gets paid to do. -

Left on 10/19/2009 for a stay in October 2009
This is by far was the most beautiful place we have ever had the privilege of staying at.
The unit we stayed in 1-57 exceeded our expectations and the million dollar view that we had from the balcony was breathtaking. The unit had everything we needed for a hassle free stay plus many added extras like DVD player, stereo system and a golf cart.
I highly recommend the Hamilton Cove Complex if you are planning to stay on Catalina Island; you will not be disappointed.

What a wonderful weekend celebrating our 20th anniversary. The villa was beautifully decorated and really had the feel of an island paradise. We really felt that we were away from it all, a wonderful respite for our weary souls. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, and was so nice to be away from all the people. The addition of having a golfcart all weekend really sealed the deal for us. We will definitely recommend it to others and will definitely try to come back to Hamilton Cove 1-57 in the future. After staying there, it was hard to come back to reality! Thank you!

Left on 09/24/2009 for a stay in September 2009
First of all, the people at Catalina Island Vacation Rentals were wonderful. The first condo that we had picked out on line was not quite what I was had anticipated, and when we called the next morning, they were there in 30 minutes to move us to a beautiful condo at Hamilton Cove. As far as I'm concerned, there is no other place than Hamilton Cove to stay on the island. The place was beautifully decorated. There were French doors leading from the living room and the bedroom onto the balcony. We left them open all night, and just listened to the sounds of the ocean. We already plan to come back next September!

Left on 04/22/2009 for a stay in April 2009
The condo was beautiful and the amenities of the complex were great. We really enjoyed our stay. My one complaint was that the kitchen was not cleaned well at all. There were dirty plates left in the cupboard. The oven looked like it had never been cleaned and they did not have so much as a sponge or brush to clean with. However, with a little elbow grease at the start the issue was resolved and everything else was enjoyable.

Left on 12/19/2008 for a stay in August 2008
My husband and I visited Catalina in August. We spent an amazing
4 nights on the island. I found Hamilton Cove onlie and was a little
skeptical about some of the units pictures so I called the booking
office. The ladies in the office were very helpful and they helped us
choose the PERFECT unit.
We arrived after buisness hours and were provided flawess
directions on how to obtain keys and where to go. When we arrived
at the unit we could not key the key to unlock the door so we drove
the golfcart to the guard gate and immediatly received kind, helpful
service.
The unit was clean, decorated very nice and had a gorgeous view.
My husband and I fiqured out quickly that the unit was about 70
steps from the bottom or top so he usually dropped me off at the
top and I could walk down to the unit instead of climbing up. :)
Upon check uut you have to refill the golfcart with gas. The only
gas station is on the other side of the island so plan plenty of time
for your trip to the gas station.
I would highly recommend Hamiliton Cove and unit 1-57. This was
an amazing vacation!

Our needs were met upon arrival at
Avalon. As soon as we dropped off our gear
the fun began. With golf cart handy it greatly enhanced our stay. I-57 Hamilton Cove
was comfortable and well appointed, clean.
Just a couple of things were noted - the coffee pot and one of the burners needed
attention, but nothing to mar our stay. It
was such a treat for us, we loved every
minute, I hated to leave! For us, it was
pure luxury and frankly worth it. If we
get another windfall down the road we would
definitely want to stay at I-57!
