Fallbrook CACelebrations on Catalina
Left on 04/19/2013 for a stay in April 2013
My husband and I recently spent our 60th wedding anniversary and his 80th birthday enjoying Catalina Island. We rented Hamilton Cove Villa #1-79 which was just a few steps from the road to the front door. The ambience of the villa was beautiful and we felt like we were staying in a model home because of the decor. The view from our balcony and dining area was lovely, especially at night when the lights of the mainland could be seen across the water.
One day my husband was having difficult putting the golf cart into reverse as we were on our way to town. A gentleman stopped to ask if he could help and showed us how the gas engine needed to be operated when changing gears. He introduced himself as general manager of Civr, Denny Honsey. He told us he knew where were staying because of the decal on the windsheild of the cart. We were impressed with his congenial, upbeat manner.
There is only one thing we would mention regarding the villa.
One night I was watching TV wearing my nightclothes and as my husband walked into the room, he saw the man renter next door leaning over the balcony, smoking a cigarette and gazing into our living room. There are no walls or barriers between villas, making it very easy for neighbors to intrude into your space.
Otherwise, we had a wonderful get-a-way to celebrate our special days.

Nantucket Island, MAThe most gorgeous view!
Left on 04/11/2013 for a stay in April 2013
We celebrated my husband's 30th birthday in Catalina and absolutely loved our stay in 1-79. From the moment you walk into this condo you notice all of the upgrades - from the carved wooden door to the breath takingly beautiful view not a single thing was missing. We will be back to stay here again!
The only con to the entire experience was the need to take a cab from downtown up to your villa - the cab ride is a total of 3-4 minutes and cost us $20 each way. It is a shame to have to shell out $40 just to get to/from your condo for check in/out. Catalina Island Vacation Rentals would be wise to offer a golf cart ride to their guests checking in and out considering the amount of money paid for a one night stay in their condos.

Left on 12/06/2012 for a stay in November 2012
We loved this villa! We felt like we were home the second we walked in! Every amenity we could wish for. The view is the number one reason to stay here. We felt like we were in Greece. The bed is super comfy too. We slept like babies. The super nice golf cart was way too much fun! Just don't pet the deer as you feed them on your way up or down the hill. Super cute but they have Fleas... Yuck! They need a sign! Pool was fabulous and we loved kayaking at the beach club down the hill. Next trip we will zip-line. Can't wait to return and bring friends to other villas! They can't have our's! Catalina Island VR were so helpful and professional. They made it all so easy. Great customer service! Enjoy!!!

My wife and I got married at the Country Club. We stayed at Hamilton Cove along with many other of our friends and family. Catalina Vacation Rentals were very easy to work with and far less painfull than other renting agencies some of our friends had to deal with. The Villa was very nice and convinently located and the golf cart was pretty stylie. We couldn't have a picked a more perfect place for a wedding. Can't wait to go back.

I was so pleased with the villa! My husband had never visited Catalina, and I was hoping all would go well. The little villa was nicely decorated and had everything we needed. The view, the view, the view!!! I appreciated the 2-day minimum, even though it was a 3-day weekend. The agents at the office, on the phone, the website photos, and even the gate keepers were all pleasant, professional, and friendly!

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Hamilton Cove villa 1-79. It has the most amazing views. I most enjoyed the mornings and evenings sitting out on the deck looking at the most enchanting views. Denny Honsey, general manager at Civr was so accomodating. He made my stay there memorable. I would highly recommend this vacation agency and villa to anyone.

Recently went to Catalina and stayed at Hamilton Cove Rentals. Absolutely beautiful! It felt like being at home. Great rate for all that you get. Amazing views, pool, jacuzzi, private patio, BBQ grill, and all the amenities you would have at your own home! Plus a golf cart for the whole weekend...great way to cruise around. Would highly recomment booking with Catalina Island Vacation Rentals. And I actually don't even work there!

Los AngelesFantastico!
Left on 10/21/2010 for a stay in October 2010
Unit1-79 is absolutely beautiful. If you look at the photos of this unit and compare it to those of other units, you'll see the difference. Furnishings do not look cheap and the materials used for the remodel are top-notch(ie: beautiful tile work in bathroom, shower and kitchen areas.)
The ocean views are spectacular and it's so nice to hear waves crashing. For years, we have stayed at a vacation rental in the heart of avalon and, if you're familiar with that area, you know how noisy it is with golf carts, trash trucks...and crowds. At Hamilton cove you hear nothing of that. Tranquility at it's best - and just a short drive in the provided golf cart to Descanso beach.
Only two beefs, and they are not directed at this unit:
1. Civr should really offer some kind of discount coupons to its customers when renting a unit. Whether it be Zip-line discounts or cabana/chaise lounge discounts at Descanso Beach. These rentals are not not inexpensive and things like that would go a long way in making the stay a more pleasurable experience.
2. The gym at Hamilton Cove is not "State of the art" as described. Far from it. Perhaps 15 or 20 years ago the equipment was state of the art - but no longer. If I were a homeowner at Hamilton Cove and paying upwards of $1,000 per month in association dues, I would demand that the gym equipment be replaced - even if it was one new piece per month.
Restaurant tip - veer of the main area and go up the hill to the Catalina Country Club - it's open to the public (and not really a country club.) Beautiful old Spanish architectural gem - it has a huge indoor area and another huge outdoor dining area. Nice size bar, too. Not too pricey when compared to a place like avalon Grill.
One last tip - check out Wrigley Memorial Gardens! -

The condo was everything others had written about. The furnishings were comfortable, the view was breathtaking, and my husband and I especially enjoyed sitting on the deck, drinking a glass of wine relaxing. The use of the golf cart was a big plus. We would definitely stay there again.

Absolutely awesome room. Everything was perfect with our stay. Everyone was easy to work with at Hamilton Cove-especially Frank and Lalo (I think that was his name) at the gate- they helped us out so much with calling a taxi for our wedding day, and Frank was so personable and went above and beyond to explain life on the island to us. Thank you to all at Hamilton Cove. You will definately see us again!

Left on 06/03/2010 for a stay in May 2010
The view from the condo is magnificent. The condo is very comfortable, even luxurious. The kitchen is better stocked than mine at home! The golf cart is a must-have and is provided. Even though it's only a mile from avalon, you do not want to walk the uphil road at night. The complex has a gym, pool, jacuzzi. The only issue is that it's very close to a somewhat noisy road and staircase. It got a bit noisy around 9am.

Went to Catalina for our 11 year anniversary. Villa 1-79 is amazing!! Beautifully decorated with a gorgeous view!!! The golf cart was included in our rental too. We went scuba diving, relaxed and went on the Ghost Tour. The Ghost Tour was not worth the money...
Villa 1-79 was perfect and we will stay there again the next time we visit Catalina. -

The fireplace added coziness and romance.
The supplied golf cart was a necessity.
Beautiful decorations and full amenities: Flat screen TV in both the living and bedroom, CD, DVD players and selections of movies available.
Gorgeous view.
The 18 hole putting green was a treat.
Not enough cold water to fill the bathtub; but management responsded very quickly.

Riverside, CAbeautifully furnished and comfortable
Left on 10/09/2009 for a stay in September 2009
Having stayed in several Hamilton Cove condos, I can safely say this was the best one yet. The owners created a very inviting and comfortable place. It was particularly nice having tall, sturdy chairs on the patio to enjoy the view, as well as their custom made ledge/table to place your drinks on. The golf cart was great and I liked only having the 12 steps to get up and down from the parking area. If I had to get picky, I would ask the owners to replace the coffee machine because I had to wrestle with getting the coffee pot in and out of it...of course, it could have just been me :)
Hamilton Cove, in and of itself, is the best place to stay on Catalina. Every view is breathtaking. I look forward to returning and staying in 1-79. -

After tons of online research, I found this great property. We booked it

This condo was perfect for our honeymoon. A great view of the ocean, and the interior was beautiful. The condo was easy to get to from the parking area. Having our own golf cart made it easy to get around the town. The rental company was very accommodating to us when the weather was bad and the ferries were cancelled. The handyman came right out when we need help with the phones.

Left on 01/08/2009 for a stay in December 2008
We have stayed at Hamilton Cove once before and we love it. This was a smaller unit than we rented the first time, but it was still very nice. The views are awesome. This particular condo was a little over decorated. Believe me, it was really beautiful, but it made us feel too much like "guests" instead of relaxed vacationers. We are divers and the access to beach with a golf cart is wonderful. The weather was a little rainy, so we stayed in and watched a movie that day. Very cozy! We will definately be back.

We were fortunate to stay in this delightful Villa for 9 nights and we loved every minute of it! We were really able to relax and enjoy ourselves.
To our surprise the kitchen was stocked with top of the line cookware and every gadget we needed to make gourmet meals and dine in with the gorgeous ocean front view.
The furnishings in the unit are very luxurious and we definitely took advantage of the wood burning fireplace. It was so nice to have a glass of wine, light a fire and relax.
We cannot wait for our next stay!
