The best parts about the condo are the view and its location. The condo itself is not bad and the interiors are up to par. Yes, there is some wear and tear but not enough to make the stay any less enjoyable. We did have to call Civr twice because of the following: the former guest left a dishwasher full of dirty dishes (they sent someone over right away who actually did all the dishes for us!), the dishwasher did not work (they sent someone to fix it the next morning), the stove top did not work (they sent someone right away to fix), and the bathroom sink/faucet was broken (again, they sent someone the next day to replace it all!). The loation is great, as you can quickly walk down to the private beach, the volleyball court, the pool, the miniature golf, or the playground for the kids. The golfcart is old and may need some maintenance soon, but besides the sqweaky wheels, we had no problems at all. In fact, it is quite nice and convenient to have that golf cart! The balcony goes from outside the living room to outside the master bedroom, so if you are sleeping in the master bedroom, sleeping with the open doors and listening to the ocean and breathing the cool ocean breeze is quite nice! Oh, if you are up early enough, you also have a great view of the sunrise from the balcony... great plance to sit with a hot cup of coffee in the morning and watch the ocean, the boats, and the sunrise... great with a cup of wine in the evening!

Everything was great. Big place, good location, and its really convienient to have a golf cart to use. The only con we experienced was the lack of cell phone service ... It was very spotty. And no wifi.
This villa has a great location but was in bad condition, considering what we paid. It's badly in need of paint-- the walls were dirty, scuffed and stained-- several lamps needed new light bulbs, one large burner on the stove was not working, the toilet in the second bathroom ran and eventually broke, the closet doors in the master bedroom didn't slide and came off their tracks, the tile under the master bath shower stall was corroding away, there was no blender lid and few dinner forks. Also, the beds were quite uncomfortable: master was very hard with no padding on top of it and second bedroom was very soft.
At the rates we pay for a vacation rental, we expect to have it in good shape and functioning fully: if we wanted to deal with maintenance issues, we could have stayed at home. Civr dealt with the worst of these issues promptly, but with the high rates, these issues should have been taken care of in advance of our stay, so we didn't have to deal/live with them.
I had completed my paperwork before we travelled, but that wasn't noted on my account, and I was asked to fill it out again on check-in,

Five of our family members (ages 60 - 19) enjoyed a three night stay at Hamilton Cove Villa 10-68. The location is fabulous; we could hear the movement of the water through the open windows and watch sea animals from the deck. The condo was clean and the kitchen was well-supplied. The golf cart was a fun convenience which allowed us to easily explore the town of avalon. We did four dives with Scuba Luv, and appreciated returning to this lovely condo for simple family dinners and relaxing evenings. We highly recommend Hamilton Cove Villa 10-68, and we hope to return.

We enjoyed our experience at Hamilton Cove very much. It really helped having a golf cart to put around in. The bed was on the firm side, and we didn't have any bath towels...other than that, every thing was very nice.

We love Catalina and Hamilton Cove. Our boys are constantly entertained. Snorkeling, floating on inner-tubes, skipping rocks, playing on the volleyball courts, fishing from the pier, kayaking, swimming in the pool, playing at the park, putting around on the 18-Hole mini golf course - shoot they even love trips into town on the golf cart. And we get to enjoy it all with them in the gorgeous setting. We've been back 5 times and are looking forward to our trip again next year.
wonderful location but unhappy with amenities/linens

we loved bldg 10, the view was amazing and we loved the elevator. the inside of the unit needed alot of work. poor construction, polyester linens, hard pillows, dirty floors, sparce and old silverware and no basic supplies were not what we expected for the high price. having no washer/dryer in the unit was also very inconvenient especially with small children.

Let me begin by saying we frequent Hamilton Cove and typically stay in the
same 2-3 units. This was our first time in 10-68. The view from this unit
was spectacular as it sits over the lawn area near the beach.
The kitchen was nice with working appliances and a variety of dish-ware.
The counter tops, upgraded, showed signs of use and had some stains. The
living-room had a large couch and seating to view the large wall mount
The deck furniture was rather cheap and flimsy looking like the standard
furniture surrounding a public pool. It should be replaced.
The master bedroom was ok, a rather small bed (double?). The ceiling joints
were peeling apart and chipping.
The master bath was terrible with obvious signs of repeated use. The sink
and shower faucets were all broken and twisted as if a repair was attempted
but not completed. The tile was dingy and the grout was plain filthy. The
shower head and sink faucets leaked constantly. The wood cabinets were
falling apart and water damaged. The second bathroom was only slightly
better but had similar issues. I dreaded using the bathrooms.
Not having a washer/dryer would be an issue if staying for more than 3
nights or during the summer.
10-68 is obviously popular because of it's location and is frequently rented.
Because of this though, it needs more TLC and upkeep to match it's rental
cost. That way it's appearance would completely compliment the fabulous
view from the deck.
I do not plan on returning to 10-68 unless I hear of a remodel. I will
however return to the Hamilton Cove complex as long as I can walk!

We had a second great time in Hamilton Cove. The property overall is very well maintained and there are a lot of things to do both in Hamilton Cove and on Catalina Island. We were with a group that rented several condos and we had many age groups-- there is something for everyone to like. Catalina Island Vacation Rentals did a good job making it easy for us-- It seems like a lot of paperwork when you first rent but when you arrive on the island it is easy. Our unit was a bit outdated but nice. We appreciated the beach chair and the flatscreen TV. Nice view. We rented paddle boards from nearby Descanso Beach and that was fun. There was a lot of noise one night from people on their balconies and some golf cart noise, but other nights were better. There is no airconditioning and it happened to be unusually hot while we were there, so there were moments when it was a bit uncomfortable. The weather is usually much cooler so I wouldn't consider this a problem unless you are really sensitive to heat. We will go back to Catalina and Hamilton Cove.

We have taken a vacation to Catalina's Hamilton Cove 3 years in a row.
We love it. It's a great place for children who love the water. Our sons
love the pool, snorkeling in the ocean, golf, the park etc. This was our
first year staying in this unit, and we did love the location. Great view
of everything going on, and right in the middle of the action (or I
guess I should say easy to walk to ocean/pool/park etc). There were a
number of things wrong with the unit itself, broken/outdated
appliances, not enough utensils, etc. and that did put a bit of a
negative tone to some of the trip, however I'm hoping they will attend
to these issues as we have already booked our trip back in 2009.
