Santa Barbara CaGreat room - Wonderful view
Left on 05/16/2013 for a stay in May 2013
Unit 1079 overlooks the beach where we were able to observe bait-fish boils, seal patrolling the kelp and the occasional sand shark.
On the negative side, the front door really needed a few drops of oil on the hinges. Makes horror movie noises to open/close. The cold water faucet in one bathroom was loose and wobbly. The cautions about towel theft and staining the dishcloths was a little paranoid for my taste. Must have had some bad experiences that I would rather not be blamed for. The check-in office was moved without notice. We were just lucky that a native was able to direct us to the new location.
Other than those minor and easily remedied complaints, Unit 1079 is one of my favorite places in the world. The view from the deck gives me joy to recall. -

As much as we love catalina island and Hamilton cove, we were very disappointed with the units up keep. It's not that it wasn't clean, it was that most of the living room furniture was very uncomfortable because it had been worn out. I found the linens and bedding to be the same. It wasn't what I had expected for the money spent, nor was it what it was 4 years ago when we rented it. I will be renting this unit again when these things are replaced. They do have very comfortable beds, easy accessibility and a fabulous view.

It was our first time going to Catalina. I am really glad we got this unit due to its location and the fact it has elevator since i have bad knees. Since we are also condo (rental) owners, and rather getting complaints on the web, we would prefer a verbal recommendation, we went to your office to give a list of things that were either missing or were not functioning at the unit. Such as a leak around the sink, broken coffee maker, front door lock, broken lights by the bed, etc...It was a long list and I hope someone still has it to fix them since we would love to stay there again.

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in October 2012
Let me start by thanking the incredibly responsive and professional team at Civr for their service during our stay. They made our stay easy and relaxing.
Thanks to the very accurate images and descriptions of this property online, we knew exactly what the home was like before we even booked it.
I stayed in this home with my parents celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary and couldn't have hoped for a better gift to them. We actually arrived late in the evening and upon arrival went straight out on the balcony (even though it was dark). The sound of the ocean and the moonlit waves crashing on the shore actually brought my mother to tears, The happy kind :) This home is simply so amazing it's just like being in your own private villa somewhere on the Mediterranean.
We enjoyed breakfast and coffee on the balcony every day and found the full kitchen extremely useful for preparing our own meals.
This villa has great views from almost any room and I particularly enjoyed falling asleep and waking to the sound of the waves and the fresh Pacific breeze.
We also took advantage of the beach and warm water which are only a few steps from this property. You also can't go wrong with the nearby mini-golf course for some friendly competition.
As we were attending the Jazz Trax festival the included golf cart came in quite handy and allowed us the flexibility to explore the island as well.
All in all it was the best vacation we've been on and we are frequent travelers, so that means something. We will be talking and dreaming about Catalina until we return again next year!

I would like to tell everyone not to come here so that it doesn't get too popular and I can book it whenever I want, but sadly I will let the secret out. This place was amazing! The complex itself has lot of amenities and is a beautiful spot but I think we had the best unit in the best building. This was the only building with an elevator and the complex is built on a hillside. It would have been difficult for most people to lug their stuff up all the stairs, but we were lucky. There are two balconies and the unit is on the third floor directly over the ocean. We spent a lot of time just enjoying the balcony. The living area and kitchen were huge and you really could fit six people in there comfortably. The unit came with a golf cart which justifies the cost of the condo. We were close to town but far enough so I felt like we had our own space. I am definitely planning on coming back to this place. It was perfect.

Bay Area, CaBeautiful but not well maintained.
Left on 08/30/2012 for a stay in August 2012
The unit is absolutely beautiful but not well taken care of. The sofa bed is unusable. We had to put the mattress on the floor. The carpet is very stained. If the unit had new carpeting and was cleaned up, it is a spectacular place to stay.
What we did love was the drama of the unit. Being right on the ocean and the windows above the kitchen made the unit beautiful to walk into.
Catalina Island Vacation Rentals was very accommodating and helpful. -

I think that with the available golf cart, this vacation rental is the perfect place to go. You can zip anywhere you want to go and leave the hubbub of all the tourists and escape to the rental (which has amazing views). We saw lots of deer, and a shark that likes to frequent right under the balcony. Also, being in the building with the elevator is a huge bonus. I here that some of the units have lots and lots of stairs. I only wish our stay was longer.

Left on 06/13/2012 for a stay in June 2012
This was my fourth (or fifth?) stay at Hamiliton Cove and this location was the very best! You are right at the shore and the views cannot be topped. It was wonderful to have the elevator to get to the third floor (just a few easy steps to get to the elevator). The bed in the master bedroom was heavenly and soft! So easy to float off to sleep, listening to the tide roll over the rocks. Also, very nice to have a separate balcony off the bedroom. My only complaint would be that the furnishings are dreadfully old and uncomfortable (luckily, we spent most of the time out on the patio). The carpets were filthy and could use a good cleaning. While the kitchen had most everything we needed, the pots and pans need to be replaced. So...location of the condo would get 5 stars. Interior...2, but 3 because of the great bed. Also, dealing with Civr is always a pleasure!

Los AngelesPeaceful great time-except seagull friends!
Left on 06/07/2012 for a stay in May 2012
10-79 is lovely because it is right on the water. Make me feel like I was a million miles from la area rather the 22 miles from Long Beach. We also got extra attention from the seagulls who let us know it was time for dinner at 5 PM promptly. I don't recommend that you leave your food unattended because they will make themselves at home.
Though I am not into mirrors and this place has plenty! it is very nice and comfortable (bed was very comfortable too) and the location couldn't be beat. The den room is really made for one person since it has a Murphy be in it.
Twin son two (20 years) decided to join us at the last minute. I brought a single aero bed on the ferry-easy to do. The condo does have a queen aero bed that can be set up on the living room.
I am exceptionally sensitive to noise at night and my guys like staying up late talking so I might get a two story condo next time. The bedroom was in the back so I imagine few people would have been bothered. On the other hand I don't know if I could give up this stunning location.
I gave the service a very good rather than excellent only because the bbq was low on propane until the last night so cooking was slower Next time I will request that they make sure the propane tank has enough fuel before we arrive.
Having the golf car was very handy though we did enjoy walking into town each day.

Left on 05/31/2012 for a stay in April 2012
This was our second time staying in this unit and both stays have been outstanding. Hamilton cove is secluded enough to make your stay relaxing and so serene but close enough to enjoy all the Island has to offer. There is nothing like laying in bed with the windows open and hearing the ocean right outside your window. One could spend the whole weekend inside the unit enjoying the views and magic of the ocean. But with the freedom of exploring with the provided golf cart we enjoyed everything avalon has to offer. An outstanding family weekend getaway!!

This unit has to be the best. Not too many stairs to the unit. The private master suite was beyond my expectations. Dishes and cooking ware were more than adequate. Being a smoker, I enjoyed the two balconies. The view and sounds of the surf were both powerful and tranquil. I want to go back! However, prices could be somewhat lower, especially in this economy.

The place is fantastic. The video correctly depicts how great this place is. The two decks are awesome. Particularly having the private dek off the master bedroom. If you want to stay right on the pacific ocean and hear the waves, this is the place for you. Hamilton Cove is great with so many ammenities. Catalina Island is fabulous. Great diving. Great food. Spectacluar views everywhere. I stayed at Hamilton Cove once before and this unit was better for proximity to the ocean and ease of getting around the entire "resort". You wont be disappointed but bring your credit card as greatness is not free when it comes to things like this.

Left on 06/22/2010 for a stay in June 2010
I have wanted to visit Catalina for years, this year we finally got there. 10-79 made the visit what i had hoped for. best view of ocean, comfy king bed, and carpet, i hate tile floors, i have injured my knee and am afraid of slipping again. we had a wonderful time and didn't want to leave, we are planning to come back again this summer. 10-79 with the waves below was so relaxing i have not slept as well since i was a kid.
( I am 60 yrs) but quite active until knee injury (being active). Especially nice about this unit is it is on the top floor, and has sky windows - fantastic. Also the elevator was wonderful. Service from Civr was above and beyond, thank you Sandy and Phil. The only big drawback was having to come home. It was a dream vacation for me, everything I would hope for, reaching my age and not having been many places I was hoping to get away and feel rich, and I did. So hard to leave.

I went off season and the room was perfect. Plenty of room and the view is great. This rental is dead center along the beachline and up on the top floor. I really couldn't think of a better spot in the entire complex. I'll be renting this one again.
Avalon itself left a little to be desired. The whole city shut down after 7pm a little like a swiss village. -

Loved the view, location, and new BBQ! Very comfortable home with relaxing decor. Happy that building had an elevator for ease of luggage. Least liked the cookware. The one frying pan was dated, nonstick flaking, and the handle fell off(we look forward to preparing dinners and breakfast in the home). We would stay there again.

I would definitely rent this property again. The description is wrong though. It has two bathrooms with showers, and the master Bathroom also features a bathtub.
The office/spare bedroom with fold down hide a bed is separated with a folding door and the walls seem to have been soundproofed.
Great kitchen! I am an expert cook and I found everything I needed to make all of the meals I had planned. There is a really nice propane grill on the main outdoor patio and a very nice bar stool style table with four stools. Von's in Avalon has most items. If you have specialized recipes you may want to inquire, or bring ingredients. Von's on Catalina doesn't carry fontina cheese.
Two balconies with excellent views and the waves crashing below add to the ambiance.
Pool, jacuzzi, dry saunas, showers and a fitness room with many machines make up the club house.
The whole property is beautiful and we enjoyed most of the features particularly the 18 hole putting green which is a real blast for family fun! Putters, balls, tennis rackets, croquet set all in a large closet.
Highly recommended! -

I really enjoyed staying at this property which is right above the sea shore. Very nice and peaceful community. The complimentary golf cart is lots of fun with kids.
We'd definitely recommend this house - especially if you're bringing kids and want to relax. Kids had enough room to play around and watch TV in a separate room while we were relaxing in another room. View from the balcony was awesome! -

This was a great 5 day get-a-way. The balcony was over the private beach. It was so relaxing to listen to the waves lapping against the shore. We enjoyed the pool, sauna, basketball courts & putting course. It was great being able to snorkle right off the property. The golf cart was perfect for getting to town so we could see the sights of Avalon. Also nice was the laundry facility:)

This condo is beautiful, it is in one of the best locations in Hamilton Code. The flow of the unit was great.
The only downside with the Murphy bed in the den/2nd bedroom with a flimsy accordion screen as a door. The rest of the unit was beautifully decorated and the view was incredible. We loved the decks off both the Master Bedroom and the Living Room. -

Left on 01/27/2009 for a stay in June 2008
We have stayed at Hamilton Cove on four occasions and this location had the most spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. Not only from the living room and balcony, but also from the bedroom which had its own private balcony. The property was spacious enough for 4 and in close proximity to the swiming pool. Actually, the location was so nice that we preferred to dine in the condo instead of eating in town.
Actually, there were two baths. -

We have stayed in this unit twice. It is a lovely location and is big enough for our family of five. We love going to sleep with the balcony doors open, hearing the waves breaking on shore right below us. The kitchen is spacious and the location of the unit is ideal.
Our only complaint is that the unit is a little well-used and tired.

Our family reunion after a wedding occurred last year.
It was a great time. The extra large golf cart to get around was handy.
We had plenty of room. The view was great.
It was easy to park and get to with a elevator.
The building had nice facilities for wash and dry clothing.
We researched the various properties, and glad we chose this one.
