Description
La Casina ("small home") is a studio apartment newly refurbished in the pulsating heart of ancient Catania, between Piazza Duomo (Cathedral Square), the historical fish market "à piscarìa" and the medieval Castello Ursino (XIII cent.)
Completely indipendent, on the ground level of a quiet side-street, it is an interesting and discreet alternative to the usual Bed&Breakfast.
From its central location, it is easy to reach the Alcalà bus station (3 min. walk to Piazza Borsellino), where continuous connections can bring you to the Airport, Train Station, and all other touristic destination in Sicily.
The flat is equipped with full kitchen, fridge, air conditioning/heating, tv, cd/dvd/mp3/radio and wireless internet connection.
The apartment of approximately 30 sq/mt has a doublebed and a sofa-bed, and is thus ideal for 2-3 persons, including children, who are welcome free of charge untill 3 years of age.
We like to think of diversity as a value to be preserved, that's why La Casina, formerly a shoe-maker workshop, has been renovated in respect of its past history and style, and refurbished with furniture that we personally restored by hand.
That's why we like to welcome guests every time different, of any nation, religion or belief.

Very funny to notice that the apartment is exactly as pictured and described, but eventually you did not like it ... maybe next time you have to choose more carefully? :) Very funny to notice that the review is anonymous, and very sad to note that they forgot to mention the only one detail that actully DID go wrong, namely that when we met the guests before their departure to collect the keys we found a very significant black stain on the wall, caused by the spilling of wine, that had occurred a few days before. It was not just a small stain, but a big one, that had not been signaled promply when it had happened, but only at the end of their stay. By that time It needed to be fixed by a painter. According to the house rules, and to the rental agreement that was signed upon arrival, we had to charge a little extra amount to cover the cost of the repair. We are very sorry that this little inconvenience left these guests with such a displeasant feeling, but next time it would be enough to signal the damage promptly, and there would have been no extra cost whatsoever if the stain would have been cleaned right away. Regarding other ridiculus and unduly negative issues raised: we confirm that our rental agreement DOES NOT INCLUDE ROOM SERVICE during the guests' stay, as is well made clear in all our ads and in our house rules, and as is the standard for apartment rentals and holiday homes. WE DO include the final cleaning at NO EXTRA COST, but during the stay the guest(s) are responsible for the standard every-day cleaning of the apartment. that these guests left Catania with such a displeasant feeling, and it is absolutely the first time we collect such a review, as any reader can easily verify looking at the DOZENS OF POSITIVE REVIEWS we received in over five years of hosting through many reliable portals (such as AirBnB, BBPlanet, etc.) We are very sorry that these guests left Catania with such a displeasant feeling, and to receive our first negative feedback after many years of very high standards of customer satisfaction, as any reader can easily verify looking at the DOZENS OF POSITIVE REVIEWS we received in over five years of hosting through many reliable portals (such as AirBnB, BBPlanet, etc.) But the best response to this can only be the many enthusiastic reviews that we have received - and certainly will continue to recive in the future.
