We were celebrating a few things, Our 38th anniversary, Pat's remission and a trip with family and friends that was amazing!!
This place is truly one you don't need to leave to see everything, one day was dedicated to that for Patrick and myself.
We rented a Cat for the day and scooted to Tortola for diving and general Loving IT;;;
Live just can't get much better than this.

I did not approve of the service people (landscaping, maid service-multiple times including right before the wedding) showing up and entering the home when they did. It was inappropriate and uncomfortable to come home to people in the house. Then having them stay for an hour or more left me feeling uneasy to leave the house. For the cost of the home there should be absolutely no interuptions unless there is an emergency.

Thank you for your feedback. We completely understand your concern about having villa contractors at the villas during rentals and we are sorry that your stay was in any way interrupted. Even though it does take a team of service professionals to maintain each villa, we always make every effort to avoid interrupting guests.
We have reviewed the schedule of service during your stay and the two previously scheduled service calls for the week included the housekeeping service and the landscaper. There were three other calls made from the villa to our maintenance team, and each time a maintenance man was dispatched to assist you. We apologize that this was in any way an inconvenience to you.
We do hope that you will consider returning to Hakuna Matata.We assure you that we will do all we can to make your stay as uninterrupted as possible. -

The good points are great! The view is gorgeous, the way the house is designed and decorated is unlike any vacation rental I have ever enjoyed. Everything you could need from kitchen utensils to kid's games were provided. It's a perfectly lovely property in every way! I loved the house!
I was unprepared for how horrific the road getting to the property was. That is ridiculous. While I understand it's not the home owner's responsibility to build a road, it does diminish the experience slightly.
The negative was that the air con didn't work in one of the bedrooms. It took 5 phone calls, and a visit to Catered-To's office before it was repaired finally on the our 4th of 7 days. Not that they didn't send someone, they did. Mr. Cool was there on 4 separate occasions, but unfortunately would not stay long enough to see if what they did worked. Finally the last guy made repairs, then tested the temp of the air it was blowing. He finally fixed it.
St John in the Summer without air? Especially in that quality of house, at that price - Not Cool!

We are very sorry that the A/C repair company had such a challenge repairing the air conditioning unit. Although we our maintenance team responded quickly to each call and made every effort to assist with ensuring that the A/C unit was repaired, unfortunately we at the property management company are often at the mercy of the expertise outside vendors that specialize in appliance repair. We are glad the unit was repaired during your stay, however we do apologize that the repair took so long.
The A/C repair not withstanding, we are pleased that you enjoyed the home and we hope that you will consider returning again the future. -

We were impressed by the pictures of Hakuna Matata when we were deciding on a location in St. John to have a family vacation. However, we were even more impressed to see the property in person upon our arrival. Catered To was kind enough to bring us to the property and show us the in and outs of this spectacular property on a hillside overlooking Cinnamon Bay. During our stay the property was serviced regularly to keep it in top notch condition. We were very pleased with the entire experience, except for the difficult road named route 206 which was the entry to the property. Many kudos to Catered To for helping make our experience so enjoyable.

Hakuna Matata is a glorious house reached by an awful dirt/rock/sometimes paved hilly switchback road which leads to impressive wood doors, courtyard with fountain, and stunning views. The pool and the hot tub are terrific, and the living area of the house is also magnificent. The view is superb. We have been at multiple St. John houses and this one is definitely top tier. The rooms are wonderful and the outdoor showers are grand. It is a keeper!

I have been to St.John many times to experience its world class beaches and quiet charm, but I wasn't prepared for Hakuna Matata. The view, the isolation, the architecture,every well thought out appointment made me want to forget the daily trip to the beach and just stay at this dreamlike villa environment.I must warn prospective renters... one week is not enough!!! You'll feel cheated that you couldn't take it all in over such a short time. To the owners of Hakuna Matata, "Asanti Sana" for your insight, your vision and for sharing a sight not to be equalled anywhere. And a double thanks to Catered To, who made the reservation and booking process painless. Every question and request was handled quickly and efficiently. They really understand customer service! Hakuna Matata and Catered To, a perfect combination for a delightful escape to Never Never Land.
