My wife and I and our two friends stayed at the Condo in May and had a truly wonderful time there.
It was peaceful, serene and beautiful.
The Lake, the surrounding countryside and the local wildlife left us breathless.
The owners Debbie and Don (Grandma and Grandpa) made us really feel at home. They patiently explained the 'house rules' and went into great detail to tell us where everything was.
The Condo was clean, fresh and welcoming.
Their door was always open if we had a query or just wanted to talk.
It was a real home from home atmosphere.
The local amenities and shops were a few miles away but it was a pleasant and picturesque drive to get to them.
We would like to return to this 'small piece of Paradise' in the Catskills and enjoy the Condo's facilities and Debbie and Don's company once again. -

I love this place. My friends and I stayed there for 2 nights and I had a relaxing weekend. Grandpa Don and Grandma Debbie (and Penny) welcomed us with open arms as soon as we entered the living room. It felt like visiting our own longtime friends that you haven't seen.
Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Don had labeled everything for easy access and with instructions to go with it, but even if you don't understand, they were just a staircase away if you needed help. Some kitchen condiments were already there for you to be used (e.g. dish soap, salt & pepper, etc... but you need to check if you need more before you head to Walmart/Supermarket).
The place is really for relaxing away from the city life. My friends and I didn't have (or had very limited) phone services, so our phone was mostly put away/turned off and just enjoyed what nature had to offer.
The place was very spacious (inside and out). Even though it had snowed during the week, the view of the iced lake was marvelous on the white sheet of snow. What I loved during the stay is when my friends and I went into the middle of the lake in the night and just laid on iced lake and just stared into the sky. It was so wonderful of not hearing city noises and just immerse with the sounds of nature.
I would recommend this place to other people if they need a nice get-a-way from the chaos life.
Thank you Grandpa Don and Grandma Debbie for sharing your love of the lake and mountain. We will be back again :)

Just got back from a 2 night stay. A great place for a quite weekend getaway by the lake. The serene lakeside atmosphere, and a very spacious living quarters that comfortably housed 5 with room to spare, exceeded only by the warm hospitality of our hosts Grandpa Don and Grandma Debbie! My friends and I were welcomed with open arms, and they were only a doorbell away if we needed anything to make our stay comfortable. And I'm calling him Grandpa only because that's how he introduced himself, otherwise the man helped push my stuck car off the ice and snow with no sweat! Checking in was as easy as Grandma telling us where all the things were stored in the house, and handing us the key.
Altogether, an awesome weekend spent exploring the frozen lake, cozy nights around the wood stove, and a visit to childhood times on the toboggan speeding down the hillside next to the house! Could not have asked for a more peaceful getaway from a busy work week, and definitely a great ending to this year's winter fun. Looking forward to coming back for the summer and fall! -

We've stayed there two times and each time we were the happiest people in the world. Grandma Debbie and grandpa Don created a romantic and such warm atmosphere for us. The place itself is so neat and cozy. I never forget those evenings we spend by fireplace.
Just Fabulous place!!!

Hudson Valley, NYGreat Place to Get away, Unwind and Relax
Left on 11/26/2012 for a stay in November 2012
The Lakeside Condo is a beautiful place to get away, unwind and be amongst all of God's creations and splendor. The condo was immaculate and Deb and Don's thoughtfulness in supplying everything necessary to make their guests comfortable (down to the last little details), was so much appreciated!
The lake is spectacular, the atmosphere and amenities were wonderful and the accommodations were spacious and comfortable, and we enjoyed the seeing the first flakes of snowfall the following morning.
The highlight of our trip was spending time with Deb and Don just before we checked out on Sunday , enjoying a cup of coffee, pumpkin pie and great conversation with them! They are such warm and wonderful Christian people!
We would highly recommend the Lakeside Condo and are looking forward to returning soon.
Overall, it was a wonderful weekend! Thank you Deb and Don!

Left on 10/23/2012 for a stay in October 2012
We just came back from spending one night there.
The owners Debbie and Don are extremely helpful and very friendly. The accommodation is a large one bedroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, TV, internet, and everything else you need. It is very well kept and very clean place. The best part is the lake where you can do fishing, paddle boats, swimming right there by the house. Outside there is a bonfire place, swings, volleyball net , benches, and a large covered deck. It is a perfect relaxing getaway on the mountain lake. we really liked it . -

NY, NYMagical gateway
Left on 09/19/2012 for a stay in September 2012
When me and my family arrived after a long and exhausting drive and entered our "home" for the next couple of days it felt exactly like it - it felt like home. Welcoming greetings by Debbie and Don felt like visiting family for a weekend that you haven't seen for a very long time. Every little detail from room arrangement to hospitality was made in such warm, yet professional way to ensure you will have a time of your life. The 3 days that we have spent there completely carried us away from our busy and stressful lives in the metropolitan area. Everything that me and my family needed had been full-filled at this magical gateway. Every outside activity by the lake that one can think of has been provided there. Bonfire, fishing, BBQ, paddle boats, swimming, swinging, volleyball, soccer or a simple relaxing book reading by the lake on a small pier and if that isn't enough a full set of board games, TV or internet for you and your family by the fire place inside the house or outside on a covered deck is also available. We had a blast. Don and Debbie after this gateway feel like family, very nice and simple family. We were amazed by the hospitality we were provided. Again just like I've mentioned before this place stands out out of all other places because it felt like home. Already planning our next trip, will recommend this place to everyone I know, even everyone whom i don't know, because I know no one will ever regret it. Everyone stop your search at this place book it and just go. Believe me there's nothing even remotely like it. Enjoy. Sincerely, Irina.

Left on 08/29/2012 for a stay in August 2012
This was the second time that we spent three days at Lakeside Retreat, and we love it even more now; it is worth three hours driving from our NJ home. During the night, the silence is really made for people who are in need of a good night sleep, and the bed is better than our bed at home, so we really recharged our batteries. The morning is wonderful when it starts with the view at the lake that is only few steps walking distance from the front door! We enjoyd morning coffee while sunbathing outside and we used outside grill to make our dinners. As before, it was a pleasure to have everything we need, so we didn't need to pack all pots and pans, plates, utensils, towels, sleeping bags... Sun lotion or shampoo we also didn't need to take from home, and again everything was nicely organized and really clean. It was also a pleasure to see Debbie and Don again, so we spent one aftenoon having good time together. Other than that planned afternoon, they really respected our privacy and never gave us surprise visit, and they were more than helpful whenever something was needed. We explored the vegetable garden that they let us use, so our meals were really pleasurable. Our dog was happy as we didn't see him long time ago, and we really enoyed sitting in the beautiful flower garden or walking away from the house in search for wild berries. It was cold for water fun, swimming, or using the boat, but we were not bored; we had lots of fun just around the house. We also went to see Butterfly Conservatory in Oneonta, and than somewhere nearby we discovered the biggest Wallmart we ever saw. Next time I would like to visit the Secret Caverns close to Cobleskill. So first time we were here for Thanksgiving, and now it was late august and we were not lucky with the weather. We must come again during hot summer days to feel the water fun, and also one weekend in October - I think the fall is really colorful experience at Lakeside Retreat!

New York City , chelseaLakeside Retreat a relaxing peaceful place of love and serenity

Hey this was a trip that i will cherish for a longtime to come. I enjoyed myself at Lakeside Retreat with my little 5 yrs old daughter araya. We loved Granpa don and Granma deb they were just awesome!!!
Me an araya were treated wonderfully. The service we received from Granpa Don and Granma Deb were a blessing. They even offered out of the goodness of their hearts to pick us up from the nearby town. what angels. When we arrived at the house soon after it felt like home. All the amenities full eat in kitchen large bedroom with king size bed and livingroom with bathrms and shower. I enjoyed waking up in the morning gazing out of the kitchen window looking out upon the lake admiring the crystal waters shimmereing under the morning sun. The mountain view was breathtaking. I can still smell that fresh clean air. My daughter araya enjoyed the swingset outside in front of the house. Everyday I would hear her playful screams of laughter just swinging away in enjoyment. Me myself I loved swimming in the lake for hours if I could. Thats was really relaxing. We picked blackberries in the woods with granpa, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers fresh from there garden and granpa even turned us on to a campfire where araya toasted marshmallows for the first time and had smores too. In addition, we also enjoyed paddle boating around the lake and sharing loving quiet mommy and me memories on the lake I will remember as long as I live. Wow We did alot. Took in nature. We saw a woodpecker up close and personal by the pond. Boy he was noisy just pecking away. All and all it was a great vacation at an affordable price that I just had to tell my co workers about upon returning to work. (wink smile)
The best thing I liked about lakeside retreat was being outside on the green land and soaking in the sun, lakeside water and mountain view. The least thing I liked was leaving.

Yorktown Hts, NY (Westchester County)Lakeside retreat - A beautiful place to spend a vacation!!
Left on 08/02/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The Lakeside Retreat is a wonderful place to spend a vacation. First, your hosts, Debbie and Don Sellevoid, are wonderful, kind, interesting and knowledgeable. They will do anything to ensure that your stay is enjoyable.
Titus Lake is a beautiful pristine body of water that contains a variety of fish for you to catch and cook if you so desire. There are both row boats and paddle boats for your use. The swimming area is a wonderful place to spend the day.
The property is very private and secluded; however, with a short drive there are numerous shopping and dining opportunities available.
The Condo itself is chock full of things you need, no need to bring paper goods, towels, linens. They also supply you with beach towels, beach chairs, suntan lotion. The Patio has a nice size gas grill which we used a number of times. There is a dishwasher, washer/dryer, just too many amenities to mention them all.
One of our favorite parts of the trip was an excursion to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, about an hour's drive. It is definitely worth the trip. The town Of Oneonta is not far away and has some interesting shops and nice restaurants. The Town of Jefferson, has a great Grand Union Supermarket and some wonderful restaurants.
There was absolutely nothing we didn't like about the LakeSide Retreat. Everything about it was great.
We could go on and on, but will finish our review here with our highest recomendation for a wonderful vacation place. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. -

Our stay at Lakeside Retreat was perfect, we could not have wished for nicer accommodation. In fact, this is the nicest accommodation we have ever stayed in during our visits to the States and we have been coming for ten years now. The condo was just huge, we really couldn't believe how much space there was. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we could have needed. Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Don were so welcoming and really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. There are several boats to use and they had bought us a new life vest for our ten month old baby to use, which was so nice of them. Baby James loved going out on the lake as did we! There are a range of leaflets on all the attractions within the local area which was really helpful and saved us from spending time searching the internet for things to do. There is plenty to do within an hours drive, more than we could manage in a week, although we could have happily spent more time sitting in the garden and going out on the boats. Whenever we go away we always miss our bed, but the bed here was huge and even more comfortable than ours at home - we were very sorry to leave!

We had a Great Time here. Owners are very nice and friendly. Its a nice getaway with a wonderful view and access of the lake from the property. The place is very quite, private and is ideal to unwind and unplug. We visited early spring and we hope to visit again during the summer. The wood stove/fireplace was very cozy and warm. We had fun using the paddle boats. Stamford was the closest town for Food, Gas and other supplies. Oneonta and Cooperstown are bigger towns that are Good for day trips.

I stayed here for a few days last summer and I absolutely loved it! It's extremely quiet and peaceful especially at sunset. I really enjoyed using paddle boats on the lake to really get the fell effect of the lakeside beauty. The couple who own the home are very friendly and accommodating and answered all of the questions I had. The house itself is gorgeous with a big backyard for kids to play on. The whole stay was gorgeous and I will definitely be back again to visit.

Left on 12/02/2011 for a stay in November 2011
Lakeside retreat is a wonderful and, comparing to other places like this, very affordable place to spend a holiday; me and my family really enjoyed our Thanksgiving weekend. The beautiful lake is across the doors; only the green grass for having fun on is in between. Different kinds of boats were there for us to use as we please, and life vests are also provided in many different sizes. My children enjoyed rowing the boat and next time they want to try pedaling (We must come again!) There are also many other things that we could have done but we didn't have enough time in three days that we spent there. The campfire, the games, fishing, and I can only imagine what a fun and how even more beautiful this place is in the summer! Inside is very cozy and spacious (kids were playing with the dog inside and we were not bothered at all!) with all the things we needed; we brought just the food and clothes with us. It's really kids-friendly place; we were reading the fairy tales and playing Lego blocks that are there already. It's also dog-friendly, with even the dog-sitting available if needed! Everything is very clean and organized, and Debbie and Don are close for help with anything you might need. They are wonderful people, our conversations were really enjoyable, and our kids are saying they are missing them already (we were there last week!) The kids were trilled, they didn't want to go anywhere around (we wanted to see Cooperstown), we really relaxed with only the sounds of the nature around, and even our dog enjoyed, inside the house, around the house, and in the water! I would recommend this place to anybody with kids or a dog, because it is not easy to find a place - and not expensive one - that will make everybody happy!

Our family stayed here just after moving to NY from Ca. We all loved it so much we rented again in the summer! We built snow forts and castles and painted them with koolade, had snow ball fights, ice skated and played with sleds. The kids even made snowcones for everyone! We tried ice fishing and played hockey too, which is harder than it looks. After playing we went in to a nice hot fire and drank hot coco while warming our feet. There are ski resorts close we have yet to visit as we have had so much fun right on the lake, but maybe we'll venture out next time. We love the lakehouse and had a wonderful time there. I highly recommend this place if you want to spend quality time together as a family.

We wanted a peaceful, quiet environment and we were not disappointed. The owners were readily available - only a phonecall away. The accomodations are cozy and restful, and the lake is beautiful. Because the lake sits at the top of a mountain, there are no mountainscape views. But if you're looking for a lovely lakeside retreat, this is a great bet and a real bargain.
