I spent just one night here at the end of a trip to Croatia and Montenegro. If I had been here earlier in the trip I would definitely have wanted to extend my stay. The location was excellent, walking distance from the bus station, up hill, but easily manageable. A family run place with friendly and helpful communication by email to help me plan my journey and find the place. When I raised a concern prior to arrival this was swiftly dealt with and nothing was too much trouble. Welcomed on arrival with a cool drink and beautiful home made baking. The apartment was well equipped for a longer stay, with good kitchen and dining facilities. The elevated position above the town gave lovely views over the bay. The town had a good number of places to eat and drink even in low season, and showed promise of more about to open when the season got underway. It offered a lovely break from the hassle and bustle of Dubrovnik but the chance to reach it by public bus very easily if you wanted. When I return to Croatia in the future I would chose this place for my main base. Cavtat is on route from the airport to Dubrovnik so good for airport transfer. This service was provided by the owners at a competitive rate.

Stayed in the one bedroom apartment here. The facilities are clean and basic. There is a good size bathroom and the kitchen has everything you might need for cooking in., and the beds are comfortable. The apartment is in a residential area which means it is nice and quite. There is a steep hill up to the apartment from the town center but its 5mins downhill and 10mins uphill !!! The big selling point for this apartment are the owners, Anka and her family who really couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful and are onsite which is such a bonus.

Review of Villa anka
august 23 to September 9, 2012
My husband and I spent 17 days at Villa anka and enjoyed every minute. Stijepo greeted us at the airport and drove us to Villa anka where the Urlovic family made us feel right at home. Our one bedroom apartment was very clean, comfortable, with air conditioning and a lovely balcony.
We loved the location of the quiet neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the town center, yet close enough to saunter downhill and partake of all the cafes, restaurants, and seaside activities.
Some nights we simply enjoyed an evening on our balcony with a bottle of the Urlovic's homemade wine (available for sale) accompanied by their gracious gifts of dried quince compotes or fresh figs and grapes from their garden while listening to the various musical performances echoing up from the hotels and nightclubs in the town center.
We especially enjoyed experiencing the Croatian culture and the hospitality of the Urlovic family
already planning our return visit next September

These apartments were basic but lovely and clean with a nice view and offered good value for money. The owners were very friendly and the town was nice. Very handy for the airport. The planes are loud but they stopped at night and we slept really well.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Villa anka. The location was perfect, in a quiet residental area but only 2-3 blocks from the harbor where the restaurants, shops, water taxi and bus station were located. Our unit was clean and comfortable, plus it had a washing machine so we could do our laundry, which, after traveling for two weeks was really needed and very appreciated. The best part of our stay at Villa anka was the hospitality of the Urlovic family, they did so much to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Since we did not understand the directions on the washing machine,Anka helped us get our laundry started, Stijepo woke us early one morning so we wouldn't miss our bus tour and Mr Urlovic let us sample their smoked figs and homemade brandy (both were very good). If we are fortunate to travel to Croatia again in the future, we would definately stay at Villa anka and will recommend it to any of our family or friends who may travel there.

We spent two beautiful days in this house near the town and the sea was very friendly welcome and we enjoyed the opportunity to speak with the owner over coffee and some local drinks ... Fortunately that 'there was air conditioning because access at home is a bit steep ...

Our family did not see serious flaws in the house: the rooms are clean, cleaning made as needed. Hosts - good and hospitable people who will not fail in any request. We were met and held as his relatives. For families with young children have the following disadvantages: 1) go to the beach home tedious, this child can not withstand the rise. But this is a plus - the house is located far from the noisy center. 2) for our family of one frying pan, to be honest enough - I really did not have enough pans with Teflon coating, which is easy to wash and nothing burns. Television, in my opinion is not needed at all - we have not included even once, because with them they brought DVD player and watch movies.
I would not have changed. It was very good at Villa anka. I wish the owners good luck, trouble free guests, good weather. Maybe someday we'll be back! -

My brother and I loved our time at Villa anka. We were treated so warmly, it almost felt like we were extended family. We were always being offered fresh, homemade things from their garden and kitchen, from lemonade to wine. When my brother was sick, they brought over some tea and lemons. When we made a mistake with our booking date, they fixed everything with no questions asked. Staff was always around for help. Great location to the pretty center of Cavtat. Living arrangements were great. Recommend Villa anka to everyone.

If you are looking to be away from the touristy Dubrovnik bustle, but still convenient to get into the city, this is your spot! Owners are very friendly with good English skills. Rooms are spacious with private bath, wireless, terrace and kitchen. Just up the hill from the bus stop that will take you into the city. Also a perfect spot if you are arriving late or leaving early to the airport, owners will arrange for transportation to the airport for you. Highly recommended!

good location -close to beach (15 min), quick and easy access to bus and marine boat. if you want to travel, I recommend a trip to albania.
Apartments are very clean and quiet. Beside a lot of pine trees, cypresses and figs. The squirrel in the mornings comes on the next tree.
Beautiful flowers in the yard - my greetings to anka and her friendly family. -

This is a great option for a last night in Croatia before a flight back home. Located near the airport, it is very reasonably priced, clean and offers great views of the ocean. It is walking distance to town with lovely, accommodating hosts - who will also give you a lift to the airport.

Left on 05/26/2011 for a stay in May 2011
The owners are very helpful and the location is good. It takes only 10 minutes from airport by taxi to Villa anka. Apatments were very clean and cosy.Trip to Dubrovnik was easy only 30 minutes by boat or by bus. In the Cavtat citycentre there were many restaurants with good value of money/quality and little shops. Only minus is for quite big hill from citycentre to Villa. I would recommend Villa anka to everybody who likes pleasant stay near Dubrovnik in peaceful apartments.Good value for money!
