Description from the manager

Twenty five years ago this cute cabana was a bar in the village. It was floated on barrels down the Caye to its current location. The couple who own it have been here for almost as long. They converted it into a simple, tropical home for windsurfing and getting away from the pressures of work. At 30 feet from the water’s edge, it is a bird watchers paradise. It has a private pier for swimming or fishing.

While the upgrades have made it much more comfortable it retains the flavor of an authentic Belizean wood frame home. Its furnishings and trim are made from local hardwoods, and its kitchen and bathroom, with tiled shower, make a stay...Read more

      Very nice stay!

Had a lovely stay here! Located down by the airport away from the main restaurant area. Quick bike ride into town. Just ask about bike rentals and they can deliver them right to your door. Otherwise it is a $5 each way taxi ride or a long walk on the beach! This was great for 2 people with room for an extra on the couch or a couple kids that don't mind sleeping on the floor in some sleeping bags. Full kitchen with a mini fridge, few games, books, a safe, private dock and a hammock. Bring your own beach towels. We would stay here again!

      Amazing!

Left on 01/06/2013 for a stay in November 2012

We enjoyed our stay so much on Caye Caulker and our little cabana on the sea. Everything and everyone made our stay wonderful.
The staff at Caye Caulker Rentals was excellent, attentive to all our needs and quickly too. Everyone was very friendly, checking on us when the power went out, having bikes ready for us and even supplying a BBQ.
The Cabana was so perfect. The bed was super comfortable, with the ocean breezes coming through the windows. I used the outdoor shower many times to cool off or get the sand off me. Having the hammock to read in was also a treat (minus the sand flies). We were able to buy some fish right off the dock where they were being cleaned. We cooked this up one night and lobster from the leeside docks another night. The kitchen was very well equipped with a new gas stove. Swimming off the neighbors dock was very pleasant dropping down onto the nice piece of sand beside the dock. We enjoyed this quiet end of the road spot, there was no hustle, just peace and quiet. It was easy to get into town for whatever we needed, or for a night out. In other words we cannot wait to get back to Caye Caulker. Thanks to Kim and his staff.

      The Perfect Place for Us

Left on 11/13/2012 for a stay in May 2012

We spent a week on Caye Caulker in mid-May. Big resorts have never been our thing. Coconut Grove fit the bill perfectly of a private, quiet sanctuary off the beaten path. It is 1 km from the village, an easy 5 minute ride on the 1-speed bikes we rented for the week. It has its own dock for swimming and sun-bathing. We went to Caye Caulker for the water sports. What could be better than being picked up for a day of scuba diving at your own private dock? The Management company we dealt with, Caye Caulker Rentals, introduced a nice touch of North american efficiency into the operation. As a result, all arrangements, both before our arrival and during our stay, were handled smoothly. The price was reasonable. The only changes I would make to Coconut Grove if I owned the place are minor: screens on all the windows and a small air-conditioner for the bedroom. Other than that, it was perfect for us.

      Perfect for some privacy

Left on 11/05/2012 for a stay in June 2011

We stayed in this house for almost three weeks. It was a perfect, relaxed time. Enough distance from the village in order to be able to have some privacy, but close enough for a walk or bike-ride to civilization.

      Dreams come true

We had the best experience ever here. We will definitely come back someday. The place is clean, neat, and really perfect. It's huge and we made some friends at the split that we had back and made a real Belizian dinner with. We made friends forever in Belize and had the best chicken and rice and beans ever. The place is awesome. Rent it! Keep it nice though, we'll be back!

We loved the gorgeous views from this lovely cottage in a quiet

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in June 2012

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage, which was far enough away from town to be peaceful and quiet, but close enough to ride bikes when we needed something. The views all around are lovely, particularly from the porch, where we watched the storms roll in and iguanas bask on the dock when it was sunny. We swam and snorkeled by the neighbor's dock. The house is fairly simple but all we needed; the blender was a great bonus to make our own shakes and cocktails. We weathered some high winds and rain during our stay but stayed warm, cozy, and dry. The assistance from Caye Caulker Rentals was excellent.

Caye Caulker always feels like coming home again

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in June 2012

This little cottage is a gem nestled in a grove of coconut trees. We loved watching the sun rise over the ocean on our deck. Fully furnished with everything you'll need (altho we would have liked to have a TV...there isn't one)

Kim and Ruby were very friendly and helpful with the rental of this cottage.

We love Caye Caulker. The people are wonderful, the water is warm, Belikin Beer is the best, and the lobster is plentiful and delicious!!

      cute, secluded, rustic, affordable

Left on 11/01/2012 for a stay in July 2011

My husband and I spent a week at Coconut Grove for our 10th wedding anniversary, and it was a great experience. We chose it because of the secluded location on the east shore. The house was affordable and adorable, though rustic by my standards (no a/c, mosquitoes getting in despite window screens) but it had everything we needed and I acclimated pretty quickly. My husband loves the heat and humidity so he was totally comfortable.

The service was great. The property manager made everything really easy from renting our bikes to setting up our excursion to Lamanai.

I think the biggest positive is that it's right on the beach yet secluded, so you really feel away-from-it-all. The only real negative is that the seclusion means you have to be sure to lock up everything well because theft can be a problem.

Overall we had a wonderful stay. We spent most of our time sitting on the porch watching birds and iguanas and passersby and beautiful quiet sunrises. We were not at all ready to leave by the end of the week.

      Idealic (no frills) Caribbean Destination...

Left on 10/30/2012 for a stay in October 2012

We had a great time staying at Coconut Grove during our visit to Caye Caulker. Caye Caulker as a whole offers relaxation, the bare necessities, and a great environment set right in the Caribbean...and this is exactly what Coconut Grove has to offer as well. There are no frills or luxuries here (such as wi-fi or TV) but if your goal is to get away from things in a tropical and picturesque setting, this is the place to do it. If this is what you are looking for and you know that you are getting basically the "bare necessities", then you will likely rate this a 5 out of 5 as well. The people on the island were very friendly and the view of the Caribbean Sea every morning from the back patio was unbeatable. Kim, who manages Caye Caulker Rentals, was extremely helpful and friendly in answering our questions and recommending various activities, restaraunts, etc...you wont go wrong there. In short, if we return to Caye Caulker in the future, Coconut Grove is likely the place we would stay.
