ChicagoGreat Villa
Left on 03/03/2013 for a stay in February 2013
The house is perfect for couples with two almost comparable bedrooms on either side of the main living space facing the beach. The third bedroom is nice but faces the front yard. Yes, the villa is for sale, which is great for renters, as the house has clean and comfortable furnishings, new linens and bedding and has been recently painted throughout. The screened porch spans the width of the back of the house and has a large dining table, a separate area with 2 comfortable chairs and affords an expansive view of the beach and ocean. The kitchen could use an update but it's very clean, large and has two refrigerators and a separate ice maker- a great amenity for a vacation house. The villa is a few minutes walk to Kaibo Upstairs and also Kaibo Beach Bar, and a good walk or easy drive to Rum Point for dining.
Booked with http://www.caymanvillas.com/ and they were great, and located in Grand Cayman. -

the screened patio and pool deck lead right to the sand and the water and it is extremely private. the view is lovely but it is of the sound, not the ocean, fyi. the waters are very calm (no crashing waves) but perfect for young kids. we let our boys (7&8) kayak solo with no worries of boats, waves or current. also is protected from the wind. lots of starfish and even a stingray. very fun and very pretty. downside is that while the layout of the house is wonderful; very open and lots of glass, it is a bit worn . it is on the market so doesn't seem to be a lot of tlc going into it right now. nonetheless it is a nice home and perfect for a family of 4-6. the cayman villa rental agents are awesome and do a great job of handling every thing up front. but onsite, the property manager was unavailable, so any glitches (stuck windows, hornets nest, tv problems) we were on our own. so on my "star" rating, cayman villa rentals is easily 5-stars but onsite service is unfortunately, 1 star.

Caribbean Crazy
Northville, MichiganHome away from home, only with palm trees and sunshine!
Left on 04/28/2011 for a stay in April 2011
Kai Rumba is a very attractive villa and accommodated us nicely. The pool was outstanding, the warmest we've ever had! The beach area was nice to look at, but not inviting for swimming. The one thing lacking was maid service, not necessarily daily, but at least once a week for a villa in this price range. (Please note that we have stayed at many villas throughout the Caribbean and all had some sort of maid service) The villa manager, Roy, was very helpful, supplying us promptly with a CD player, which was listed as an amenity but not in the villa when we arrived. We saved a lot of money by cooking "in" several evenings, utilizing the gas grill and the well-equipped kitchen. It is a long drive to the largest grocery store, so plan ahead...it's not a drive you'd want to make daily (sitting by the pool is a much better use of time!) Yes, a vehicle is a must. This is not the villa for you if you are not comfortable following directions and maneuvering round-abouts, all while driving on the "wrong side of the road"! Swimming with the rays is a must...well worth the money. We went out with Captain Jimmy from Rum Point and he was excellent. All in all, it was a wonderful week of R & R...just what we needed!
