Description from manager

Description

Full of period details including exposed oak beams, trusses and original doors, this is a welcoming home-from-home, able to sleep up to seven people in two doubles â one en suite - and a family room, comprised of one double and one single bed.Three miles from Ludlow, across the courtyard from the owner's impressive country house, in the picturesque rural village of Caynham lies this wonderful detached nineteenth century barn conversion. Blending the building's period features with modern fixtures gives the property a sleek feel without losing any of its old world charm. The cosy living room opens onto the pretty garden, which offers a great opportunity for a summer barbecue, al fresco dining, or simply relaxing with a good book. No matter what time of year you've planned your visit, this property will make an ideal base from which to explore the region.

Amenities: Oil central heating with woodburner. Electric double oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV with Freeview, video, DVD, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot, highchair and stairgate. Off road parking for 3 cars. Enclosed garden with furniture and BBQ. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 1.5 miles. Ludlow's castle and restaurants 3 miles.

Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England.

Town: In the heart of the beautiful Shropshire countryside, amidst the renowned walking and cycling region, is the historic village of Caynham. With evidence of early dwelling on the site, in the form of the outstanding landmark, Caynham Camp, visitors can see this huge Bronze Age/Iron Age earthwork which covers a site of eight acres at the summit, from which wonderful views can be enjoyed. Three miles away is Ludlow where slightly more recent building work can be seen in the intact medieval street patterns of the town. Renowned for several Michelin-starred restaurants, as well as numerous tea-shops, pubs and inns, Ludlow is a great destination for gourmets and food enthusiasts whilst nearby, visitors can enjoy such diverse activities as Ironbridge Gorge, Severn Valley Railway, Berrington Hall and Cardingmill Valley.
