GIte Diane is in the midst of farmland - the only noise is an occasional tractor or cow moo!. Situated on a quiet country lane and with wonderful views at every turn, this superbly built and traditionally furnished gîte has a large double height living room with an open fireplace, big kitchen/diner and generous bathroom on the ground floor. Upstairs is the large main bedroom with an office alcove. there is a plus separate outside barn with further sleeping accommodation for two. The Northern Lot and Quercy/Perigord areas boast much to see and do from visiting the abundant medieval towns and villages, swimming in and canoeing on the Dordogne, visits to the wonderful caves of Pech Merle, Lacave, Padirac, Lascaux, walking, birdwatching, waterparks, ariel walks in the trees, fishing, water parks, restaurants, festivals (jazz and country), vinyards near Cahors and local ones too - so much to see and do! Or simply relax at home with a glass of wine and a good book.
Travel to the area has been improved with the new airport at Cressensac (Brive - Vallee du Dordogne) with flights from Paris Orly, London City and promises of other UK destinations in 2011. Limoges, Rodez, Bergerac and Toulouse airports are within one and a half to just over two hours away. The A20 - Junction 53 from the North and Junction 55 from the South. You will need a car!! The local village has a great supermarket and you can buy bread and cheese from the local farms
