Description from the owner
The Villa is an old country residence settled on an estate of 26,000 sqm, a large and secret garden paradise containing groves of olive, and many others trees. It is located about just 6 km from the historic centre of the charming, age-old Norman town of Cefalu, and combines the natural scenic beauty and peacefulness of the countryside with direct access to the sea.
The Villa is very quiet and peaceful for most of the year, although in the summertime the beach attracts many visitors for its natural beauty, its soft sands and its safe bathing: this is Salinelle beach, among the most scenically beautiful of Cefalu. The area offers markets...Read more

Landau, GermanyThe perfect place to relax with family and friends
Left on 07/24/2012 for a stay in July 2012
The house is on a large property with several cottages, but plenty of privacy for all. The owner goes out of his way to make his guests comfortable, whether it's by providing additional deck chairs or sunshades or helpful information, and takes great care of the property by fixing things without delay and cultivating a great variety of plants. The short walk to the beach took us past a row of pomegranates, a lemon grove, an ancient carob, a eucalyptus and many other different trees and cactuses. It is simply a beautiful place. The house itself is comfortable and very well equipped, but it is its surroundings that make it special and a treat for all senses. Additional benefits: we had bread and water delivered every morning, there is a great pizza restaurant close by and the fruit stall when you turn off the main road towards Salinelle has excellent fruit and vegetables.

IrelandMagic - a piece of sun-soaked, sea drenched heaven!
Left on 12/28/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Loved La Piana. Clean, fresh, beside the sea, owner couldn't do enough for us. Close to train station for Palermo. Rented a car and got around town (Cefalu) and the surrounds easily. Relaxed all day, ate all evening. Very friendly people - we were invited out twice (both times great). Loved everything about the place, have already booked again for next year!

DevonAn enchanting, rustic villa set in wonderful surroundings
Left on 06/12/2011 for a stay in May 2011
Lots of space in this lovely old villa, full of antique curiosities. The villa is set within a lemon grove where we picked fresh wonderful lemons and mandarins. Hibiscus and bougainvillea everywhere amid vines and wisteria. A walk through all this takes you to the beach which is stoney pebbles, quite nice for sunbathing and swimming, quiet in May. Dario is a great host very helpful and hospitable. There is a large balcony overlooking the grove and great terrace outside with barbecue and table chairs and everything required including a hot outdoor shower. A good pizzeria five minutes walk away and a supermarket five minutes drive away. Cefalu takes about fifteen minutes by car a busy town but nice to stroll around the medieval streets. The Roca is a huge mountain in the middle of the town which is worth clambering up for great views. The villa is a fantastic place to stay for a while, children would love it. When we were there six puppies and three friendly, happy dogs were roaming around.

WoustvillerUn petit coin de paradis
Left on 01/30/2011 for a stay in October 2010

Danke Dario!

ScotlandLovely old house with character in beautiful, secluded garden.
Left on 10/26/2010 for a stay in October 2010
We stayed at Dario's in October, a party of 12, including kids, teenagers and adults. We all loved it, the weather was warm and Sicily was fascinating. The house was geat, lots of room, beautiful tiles and old wood and a hot outdoor shower by a substantial patio. The cottages were charming, with stoves and we made good use of the excellent barbeque facilities. The garden/orchard was absolutely lovely and each property felt very private and peaceful. The garden leads onto the beach with fantastic views and excellent stones (for beachcombing) and we were adopted by Dario's very friendly dogs who joined us on the sand most days. We enjoyed swimming, sailing and kayaking, Dario was an excellent host, the town is lovely and we hope to come back some time.

dublinimmersed in relaxiong nature by the sea
Left on 10/25/2010 for a stay in June 2010
Myself and my wife loved this place the moment we set foot on it. She was looking for a quiet place in the midst of greenery and near the sea to recover from a stressful year at work in Dublin, I was looking for a quiet place to write my third novel. You are surrounded by greenery, olive and lemon and pines. The cottage we stayed in was clean, simple comfort, all basic utilities working. The owner is on hand, and happy to sort out anything you need, and gives useful tips about the area, places to visit etc. Note that there are dogs: but if you or your kids like dogs they will love you. We're certainly going back, hopefully in the Spring. Too busy relaxing on the beach, of course, to even start my third novel... Oops.

Vienna"Better in piana"
Left on 10/14/2010 for a stay in October 2010

Spectacular location, right on the water, immersed in nature - lemon groves and pine trees - and still only ten minutes drive to town - and Cefalu itself is magical! My cottage was the one closest to the beach so I really did fall asleep to the sound of the waves; I went there to rest and relax so I didn't spend much time exploring but the Madonie are very close for a day-trip, and one night I drove up to Castlebuono to a really good fish restaurant. Cottage is not five star but has everything you need to cook, even a stone pizza oven outside, and it was spotlessly clean. Dario seems to go out of his way to make sure everyone's stay is nothing short of exceptional. You do need a car to get around, but even if you don't use it much you'll feel like you have the best of both worlds with it, visiting the bustle of town in the evening for dinner and coming back then to the peace and quiet. A really special place and really special people - I came home feeling special! And very well-fed!!

stockholma small piece of paradise
Left on 10/01/2010 for a stay in June 2010
My mother wanted to go away for her 60 th birthday, and more or less by a chance did we choose Sicily. We were two families of 9 persons, from 6 months and up.By luck I came across Dario´s house on the internet and both me and my mother felt that this was the one! A few weeks later we arrived in Piana and we were all thrilled by this wonderful house and the very beautiful garden with all the beautiful plants, flowers and trees. And the friendliest dogs ever.It was beyond our expectations.
To see more of Sicily´s landscape we had rented cars and made two-three long excursions for other cities inside the island. We found it to be a beautiful island! But my favourite thing was Piana, it was incredible beautiful and quiet and it´s a place were you can fully relax and enjoy. The beach which was near was very nice and calm and the water was warm enough.
And not to forget, our lovely host Mr Livecchi who helped make this trip unforgettable!
