Colorado Springs, Coloradowonderful escape to a serene lake
Left on 10/03/2012 for a stay in September 2012
Really enjoyed my week at 908 winona road. comfortable house and the owner seem to go out of their way to make the place inviting. Many signs in the house to help guests instantly acclimate.
The setting and the house itself were the highlight
Minor repair on one toilet was needed and that was addressed immediately.
Only negative was when it rained lower level took on minor amount of water which i understand the owner will address this off season Tom S -

Our family loved this home, it felt very private and woodsy. It was close enough to the grocery, Meredith, hiking trails, yet was off the beaten path. We loved the outside, the fire pit, yard and dock were great for the kids and adults. The house was roomy on the inside, the basement area was large, able to sleep 4 with a table, laundry, bathroom and sitting area. The only downside to the house is there is a major water/mold issue in the lower level (that would have otherwise been awesome for our family). The downstairs had a very moldy smell and there was visible mold on much of the wood trim. The laundry room floor was filled with water and wet vacs and several humidifiers (a few didn't work) were around which makes me believe that this issue is "known". Preferred was very receptive to my call, someone came out and wet vac the laundry room, but the smell never went away. I don't believe that this room should be advertised as a bedroom. I was very disappointed with this water issue.
We loved the small lake, would strongly consider renting this house again if something can be done with the downstairs water issue. -

We had 4 adults and 4 children under the age of 4. The house was perfect for all of us; the furniture was very comfortable and the house was very clean. The upper level has the kitchen, a living room with a fire place,an all season porch,a small outside deck where the grill is,a living/sleeping room with a TV,2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. The living/sleeping room has a day bed with a trundle which was perfect for our 3 year old son's to sleep on. The bedrooms comfortably fit our portable pack n plays for the little ones. The kitchen island is almost too big so it's hard to walk around if you're a big person or have a bunch of people in there. The entire house was fully stocked with blankets, pillows, fans, dishes, etc. The lower level of the home was where us adults spent our evenings and where we had dinner. There's a big open room with a TV, living room set, dining table, a queen size bed and 2 twin beds. There's also a full bathroom and a laundry room. Outside in the backyard was a firepit and another eating area. The walk to the dock is down a small hill. There isn't a beach to play in the sand, but the area inside the L shape of the dock was shallow enough for the kids to splash around. We had one issue with the downstairs toilet not flushing and water starting to flood the downstairs, but after calling the emergency maintenance dept it was fixed within a couple hours. I would definitely recommend bringing a baby gate if there are little ones in your party. The check in at Preferred Rentals was quick and easy and they allowed us to just leave the key in the house rather than going back to check out. I would definitely recommend this house to others. My only advice to other renters is that it is not a good house for someone with a disability (i.e. in a wheelchair) or for someone with breathing problems (no a.c.)

Union, KentuckyHomey Secluded and Roomy Weekly Rental
Left on 07/19/2012 for a stay in July 2012
We rented this house for my husband and I and 4 teenage and college age children for a week. It was very private, extremely spacious and all beds were very comfortable. We loved the arangement of the rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the breeze through the rooms and especially the screen sunroom upstairs. The island kitchen was lovely but a bit small for our needs. I would suggest the owners add a spotlight on the trees of the driveway as an option to leave on when arriving home late. We also found that the linens on the King Bed upstairs did not stay on as they were not deep pocket sheets which was a bit frustrating. We were thrilled to see a red fox twice on our driveway and the kids enjoyed the dock and the raft as well as the downstairs space. One problem was that there was an ongoing water issue with the sump pump(?) closet which overflowed into the basement. We reported it as soon as it was noticed and the main office responded promptly and were very attentive. It was clear there was a bit of a water issue/mold issue stemming from using the Washer possibly as there were 4 dehumidifiers in the basement area. I am not certain that the dishwasher as well as the clothes washer should even have been installed in a home with a septic system. It appeared even the bare minimum was too much for it to handle. Water marks on the door jam to the piped room in the lower level showed this ongoing issue as did mold and wet stains on the utility room floor and walls. The floor was constantly wet in that room. It was a bit off the beaten path but still close enough to get into Center Harbor, Holderness and the Weirs Beach area. Once the water issue is resolved. This will be a great benefit to future guests.

The house was much nicer than the pictures showed. Every ammenity was available except wished we'd had a/C a couple of day/nights. The house is ideally situated on the lake, easy to get kayaks in/out of water. Will definitely rent this one again when we go to NH again.

Lake Winona Lover!
Agawam, MAFabulous Lake Winona Vacation!
Left on 07/13/2011 for a stay in July 2011
We recently had the opportunity to visit Lake Winona in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. We were really looking forward to our trip but held the usual reservations about booking a vacation on line. Would the result hold up to the expectations? This one sure did, we were amazed at the property when we arrived, it was exactly as pictured, recently updated, clean and very well appointed. Our teenagers shared to roomy lower level with full bath, fridge, TV sitting area and three beds. The upstairs was very comfortable with plenty of sitting areas for rest, relaxation and enjoying the views. The lake was small and peacefull, great for swimming, kayaking, fishing and just relaxing in the sun. We could allow the kids some freedom to have fun without the worry of a larger, more populated lake. We will definately return next year!

Wonderful time on Winona
Hampden, MaineWonderful visit to NH
Left on 07/06/2011 for a stay in June 2011
Our daughter planned her wedding in June to be celebrated at the Inn at Mill Falls in Meredith, and since she and her fiance reside in NC, wanted a quiet lake house to make final preparations and relax before the big day.
We couldn't have found a more beautiful spot!
The house was big enough for 8 adults and 1 toddler, with 3 baths and plenty of comfortable space.
It was very clean, the kitchen was well applianced, and the washer and dryer came in handy.
We plan on returning next year and would like to thank the great folks at Preferred Rentals, Lisa, Shannon and their friendly staff, for assisting us with our every need.

Left on 10/09/2010 for a stay in September 2010
This was our 3rd year when we spent a week in mid or late September in this house. It is situated on a small lake (but big enough to satisfy our tandem kayak), with its own dock, good for watching the stars or boarding the kayak, or just lounging. The house is modern and comfortable. Our only reservation - and there's not much to be done - is that the kitchen is a bit cramped.

This was a great lakehouse in a quiet part of town. The actual lake was very peaceful and still and was perfect for the canoeing that we did (we brought our own canoe.) We were traveling with 4 children under the age of 2 and the shallow part of the beach was just fine for them. There is no "sandy beach" but there is a gradual slope into the water that was shallow enough for them. There is also a floating dock to swim out to which the adults took advantage of. The backyard is a hill, and there is no grass for the kids to play on, but the frontyard has grass.
The house itself is beautifully updated and very clean. There are 3 full bathrooms, although one of the bathrooms on the main level just has a full-sized tub, but no shower head. They don't provide handsoap, so make sure you bring 4 separate soaps for the sinks. The bedrooms were a perect size and the mattresses were very comfortable. The lower level has a queen-sized bed in it, a large living space (couch, chair, TV), the dining room table, an attached bathroom and attached laundry room. The house does not have aC, so this room was our savior since the temperatures that week were all above 90 with high humidity. The main floor has a great sun porch that we tended to congregate in and a beautidul kitchen. It was a little tight with 4 kids in high chairs and the adults trying to get their meals ready, but we made it work.
The house is located within 15-20 minutes of most of the areas attraction, so it was pretty convenient. The only inconvenient part about checking in and out was the fact that the rental office is 20 minutes from the house and was out of our way to get there. It is not right off the highway.
This is a great kid-friendly house and it is very easy to gate off the stairs to the lower-level as well. We would stay here again, but our group is growing so we will be needing a larger house for next summer. -

Stayed in the house as a guest of my cousin when I was visiting them from the Netherlands
What a beautifull house. Fully equipt, nice and clean on arrival. And the place itself, beautifull, nice acces to the lake.
Haven't had a good night sleep for a long time because it was so quiet and the beds so good.
Upstairs, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 3 livings and a nice kitchen to sit and play games.
Downstairs an appartment where the teenagers had a place for themself.
Fishing in the lake was really good. The daytrips to the White Mountains, just 1/2 hour drive. We just had a perfect week.
We all hope to comeback next year!!! -

Great service from Preferred vacation rentals. The house exceeded our expectations: fully equipped, clean, comfortable. Situated on a quiet lake with its own dock; total privacy; screened porch was a wonderful amenity because we could sit there in bad weather or good. There was nothing, really, to criticize about the experience, and we renewed for the following year based on how happy we were with the property and the service.
